it's one of those stories where a 'nerdy', simple girl gets a make-over and is then noticed by the most popular guy in school -- only to realize that she likes her best guy friend.

although the plot is unoriginal, the cuteness is still worth a try.

the manga has rough art and main characters that are childish, crazy, a bit ignorant and immature. The story however makes up for all these.

What makes this story beautiful though is the way the characters develop when faced with the issue of teenage pregnancy. At first, they're completely blind and hopeless but slowly, they grow-- and you'll learn to love them the whole way. Not only are the main characters admirable, but also the people that surrounds them which just paints a pretty picture about family, friends and support.

The story is a learning experience through and through.

it's a story that revolves on Art and how someone who lacks the voice to express his/her feelings can show it in canvass and colors.

The manga is one of the prettiest art i have ever seen, probably the best. The main couple seem to have fragile personalities in contrast to the other pair, both having a sunny and hopeful feeling in them. I like how the pairings are based on how they seem so 'meant' for each other with their interests, personalities and the way they express themselves.

All in all, this was a lovely manga. Chiba Kozue's works are just so beautiful.

There's something different about these stories that I can't help but admire, besides being magical in one story and supernaturally disturbing in another. Despite the seemingly 'dark' ambiance since the cast is composed of witches, vampires and ghosts, the manga-ka manages to sprinkle emotions on those characters. These supposed monsters are shown to feel love and to sacrifice, to be hurt for this love.

I like how the characters manage a happy, satisfied existence in the end despite that touch of hopeless sadness. Frankly, i think this sadness just gives a deeper meaning to the story. There's a twinge of pain but the smile won't go ... away.

The Forest of Memories and Midsummer's Silver Dream might seem 'disturbing', but it makes one think more about the characters choices and ends.
