i'm MJ and i grew up with a passion for Anime. Now that i'm a wee bit older, i'm trying to get back to revive this streak. Unfortunately, i don't have much of a free time as i used to so i'm constrained to reading Manga's. I found these to have better drawings (most of the time) and has more in-depth stories than their Anime version. I've had my share of mangas, something you'll realize once you look at my list and i'm looking for those handful stories that really cut it deep. If the art is sloppy, as long as the story is special-- then i'd love it. I'm still waiting for the chance to actually watch Anime's as well.
As of now, i'm partial towards Romance Shoujo (with strong heroines), Smart Psych Mangas (like Liar Game and Death Note) and Beautiful One-Shots but Animes like Full Metal Alchemist, Shaman King, Fairy Tale, Noblesse and Gundam Wing (and most Mecha, Shounen Animes with a Cool, Sensible Story) are still on top of my list.
*i'm still looking for those stories that really give me that "painful ache", not because it's a tragic story but because the storyline is superb and the mangaka is a genius.
=> also looking for Josei's with characters and romance that aren't so over the top to the point that it's annoying. Something like Yoshino Aki's works with a beautiful story as well. i feel like i've read them all.
