I love this series because it's nothing like what you expect it to be. It's highly thoughtful and insightful into the relationships of large political families. When watching this anime, I think it's vitally important to go read up on the importance of the Noh play in Japan and what it actually MEANS. You will not be able to fully appreciate this series without having an appreciation of Noh (and wikipedia's article is totally insufficient to get this appreciation - I suggest a trip to your local library for a breifing of Japanese literature and art history). I literally had to go study up ...

Gilgamesh (Anime) add
IMO, probably the most under-rated of all the gothic post-apocalyptic animes out there. As far as an engaging plot, the surface plot is a bit lacking but the plot twists and character engagements are absolutely first rate. It's an easy watch, but do NOT watch this thing dubbed. The english voice actors are horrid, and I mean HORRID - they will completely ruin it for you. I liked the art because it was so unique, but I know a few people who are so turned off by it that they couldn't even watch the show. The soundrack is perfect for the show.

3 words: Classically addictive CLAMP
I love this show because it's just cheeky enough to be fun, just enough plot twists to keep you guessing, just enough character development to draw you in, and just pretty enough to really enjoy in HD. I watched a random episode in the middle of the series while in Japan (and no, I don't speak enough Japanese to know what the hell was really going on) and knew right away I'd have to buy it when I got home.

Mixed Feelings
This anime is slow and has a lot of fluff, but it is moderately interesting. I was actually pleasantly surprised at how insightful and interesting the last couple of disks were. This series gets much better towards the end if you can make it through the middle. Character development leaves something to be desired, but I'll admit they made an attempt. The music however, is just terrible.
