...then you might like Udon no Kuni no Kiniro Kemari add

These two shows have the same heart at the core of it. Ie Naki Ko is definitely more tragic than Udon's upbeat nature, being about a young boy who's sold off to a traveling musician. But there still is an endearing father/son relationship in both between two people who, while they aren't related, are still family regardless. And this relationship is the central relationship in both shows.

If you liked Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou add

...then you might like Otoyomegatari add

Both are a slice of life in a unique setting with stunning artwork and pleasant characters. The female leads of Amira and Alpha are both outgoing and adventurous women with compassionate hearts and a love of life. While Otoymegatari focuses almost exclusively on romance, Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou does have some hints of romance every now and then, and, like Otoyomegatari, it has a younger boy/older female "couple".
