An anime that shows the journey of a young girl without sexualization or questionable romantic relationships?! Frieren: Beyond Journey's End will leave you in both tears and jaw-hurting smiles.
The protagonist of this story, Frieren, is a seemingly emotionless, elven mage who has lived for an unspecified amount of time. One decade of her life she spends in the hero's party, defeating the demon king and his army. This small, but extremely crucial part of her life is a catalyst for her future adventures. As the people in her past leave, she's left with messages and missions. And though her ... mind is rational, her heart can't ignore their final wishes. Along the way, we watch her pick up a few supporting characters and through her interactions with them, we see that maybe she's not as unfeeling as she thought she was.
The art of this anime is intensely beautiful with very vivid greens and blues that really complement the world-building of the story. I greatly appreciate how the main character and supporting characters are not sexualized, with how both of them are younger women. It's truly the perfect balance of action, slice of life, and fantasy in my opinion.

Tensei Shitara Ken is a breath of fresh air to the isekai anime genre. Instead of a pervy incel reincarnating into a boy who uses his newfound childlike appearance to prey on children, our mc gets reincarnated into an op sword. Love that the main relationship in the story is a parent-child relationship, and I pray to god it stays that way. Our other main character, Fran, is an adorable black cat-human with a charming dry personality. The plot is a bit weak and predictable, but I think that the wholesomeness makes up for it. If you ignore the pedo baiting and ... lingering fear that the sword will develop romantic feelings for the child, it's a good anime!

in terms of shojo teen romances, romantic killer is at the top! the main character isnt clueless with a shit personality, she knows when people are interested in her but draws her boundaries. she doesn't shit on other girls for being "weak" and even though she has the "im different from other girls" trope, its portrayed in a way that doesnt tear down other girls. she protects the weak while still being able to be vulnerable herself. she makes poop/pee jokes and doesnt care about being lame. the love interests are also very good! they arent toxic or have a fierce ... rivalry. one has a mysterious past while the other is her childhood friend that can accept other people having feelings for her without being toxic. romantic killer does a good job of exploring the side characters' pasts while still tying it into the main character.
