This movie was awfully terrible (spoilers ahead)
It reused the same plot from Seed and Destiny, same cliche ideas again, same characters archetypes, and it even copied Gundam 00 and Unicorn' endings, and slapped some shounen tropes on top (one Gundam went Ultra Instinct Goku, another went Naruto, and everyone gains massive powerup by screaming and talking about friends/love).
I don't want to spoil more than that, but the movie was made to tell you, "hey remember that moment when this character did x, and y happened? here is it again."
The animations are outdated, the CGI looks very cheap, the characters look like they were AI generated,
...
their lips don't even sync with their dialog.
Every frame looks like it's a mid-between frame. Heck, Gundam 00 (2007) looked miles better.
The animations only looked good during Battleships' action.
Even the OST is recycled from Seed/Destiny.
I really can't praise the movie for anything. Everything in it is recycled from older shows. Zero originality. It's literally a situation of "been there, saw that"

The original Macross anime was a unique show that delved into the profound themes of intergalactic discovery, mutual understanding, complex character development, and the struggles of humanity's survival. However, this movie seemed to have lost sight of the essence that made the series so special, as it turned into a mere two-hour advertisement for song albums.
One of the most glaring issues with this adaptation is the rushed and haphazard storytelling. The rich character development that made the original anime so compelling is completely lacking in this movie. Many characters seem to have lost their significance and screen time, leaving the audience disconnected and unsatisfied. The
...
core essence of the story was butchered, reducing it to a mere fraction of its original depth and impact.
Moreover, the action sequences are now just pathetic mindless beam spam here. It's a far cry from the engaging and purposeful battles that were integral to the charm of the original show.
The movie's decision to omit crucial moments that were strong points in the original series only adds to my disappointment. The heartfelt episodes where the aliens explored and interacted with human culture have been reduced to shallow and fleeting moments centered around idol song clips. This change not only diminishes the emotional connection between characters but also disregards the profound messages that the original anime conveyed.
As someone who cherished Macross for its captivating story and meaningful themes, I found little in this movie that could convince me to replace the anime with it. If you have a penchant for frequent idol song interludes every ten minutes, you might find some enjoyment in this adaptation. However, for those of us who were drawn to Macross for its powerful narrative and profound messages, this movie fails to live up to its predecessor and is ultimately a major letdown.

I absolutely hated the first season but I thought I'd give Season 2 a try to see if there's an improvement and it will make WfM overall worth the watch. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case.
Season 2 left much to be desired and failed to fix the mistakes of the first season. From underdeveloped characters to a lackluster plot, this installment fell flat and "Whatever" ride again.
One of the most glaring issues with Season 2 was the lack of character development. It seemed as though the majority of the characters were merely placeholders, barely contributing to the overall plot. Many of the supporting characters lacked depth,
...
and their actions felt arbitrary and inconsequential.
Despite the premises made in the first season, the duels, marriage, and even Elan's story felt utterly inconsequential in Season 2. The narrative seemed to meander aimlessly, with events unfolding in a haphazard manner. It was as if the writers were trying to fill the show with too many tropes and ideas from other shows until the last four episodes, which ultimately carried most of the weight and importance.
The climax of the series was a major letdown. With a rushed and unsatisfying conclusion, it became apparent that the series had squandered its potential. It felt as though the writers realized they had run out of time and hastily tied up loose ends without providing any satisfyingly battles or ending. Watching both seasons was time wasting honestly. There's nothing memorable or special about this show.
It's generic, bland, tasteless, and obviously trying to attract new fans by using Yuri and overused tropes and elements from other stories.
Gundam: The Witch from Mercury Season 2 was a frustrating experience overall. The lack of character development, the insignificance of major events, and the overall filler-like nature of the majority of the season left me questioning the purpose and direction of the show. The rushed and unsatisfying ending only added to the disappointment, leaving a bitter aftertaste. As a fan of the Gundam franchise, I had hoped for so much more, but unfortunately, this installment failed to deliver.
At the end, this show will not be remembered for anything except that it disappointed both old Gundam fans and Yuri fans

You probably heard about the most underrated Gundam show, this is it!
A post-apocalyptic backdrop and great characters, Gundam X presents a tale of survival, hope, and the consequences of war.
Gundam X might looks like a what-if scenario of "what if Zeon dropped thousands of colonies instead of 1", but what sets Gundam X apart from other entries in the Gundam franchise is its unique setting and exploration of the aftermath of war. The series delves into the consequences of humanity's destructive tendencies and the struggles of those left behind in the war-ravaged world.
The characters in Gundam X are well-developed and relatable, each carrying their
...
burdens and motivations. Garrod Ran, the protagonist, undergoes significant growth throughout the series as he learns the true meaning of hope and fights against despair.
What makes the main character here interesting is that he just a regular normal human, with no special power, or special abilities, or background experience in military or combat, yet he overcomes all of his obstacles through growth, skill and love for Tiffa. He loses, he fails, but never gives up... which is really a nice growing up development to watch.
The side characters are also similar to Garrod, normal people that just fight to live and seeing each of them develop and change throughout the show is sweet.
The setting is also refreshingly good. It's like an RPG game where the cast moves from town to town, meeting new friends and enemies and overcome trouble.
Visually, Gundam X looks outdated now and sometimes inferior to Wing (maybe just me), but still has detailed mecha designs and cool action sequences.
While Gundam X received mixed reception during its initial airing due to its slow paced storytelling in the early episodes, and maybe no mysterious evil bad guys like a Char Clone, it has gained a dedicated following over the years. Its exploration of complex themes and its ability to create an emotionally charged atmosphere make it a standout entry in the Gundam franchise.
In conclusion, Gundam X is a mecha anime that offers a unique post-apocalyptic experience. It's not deep, it's not complicated, it's not trying to re-invent the wheel. It's just trying to to tell a love story in a destroyed world full of hatred and evil, With its loveable characters, realistic narrative, and memorable mecha battles, it is a must-watch for fans of the Gundam series and those seeking a mecha show that isn't about OP main heroes, Newtype space magic or Overpowered broken mechs that never lose.

After an amazing Prologue episode that was full of action and tragedy, the show decides to leave war and politics and become a generic girly comedy show similar to many moe/otomoe/SoL animes with recycled, cliché jokes, overused character templates, and other dumb tropes.
Not only the show decided to rip off Utena, but it's really plotless. 4 episodes so far and there is no real plot. it's just "haha awkward dumb girl getting in awkward situations and everyone wants to bang/bully her xD" kind of show.
it's cringe, it's awful and is tasteless... specifically made for the average standardless anime fan who just wants to lust over
...
animu girls and ship them or jerk off.
The Main character wastes episodes time with her stuttering and it's getting old too fast and annoying.
Let's talk about the Godawful stupid settings, which is a school controlled by the elite, everyone learn about mobile suits and be forcibly married if someone won a duel.
sounds stupid enough? not yet, blatant cheating is allowed, messing with students' mobile suit to make them fail is allowed, being a jerk and bully is allowed, using your father to instant-win is allowed... all very terrible excuse to make "Aww the MC is having rough days :(" kinda feeling but it's just stupid by all means.
What the heck is the point of this of school? and why anyone can marry anyone they want forcibly?
this sounds like a slavery system and not school.
Also the fact that the mega corps in this universe can go bankrupt, lose ground and collapse because of some teenager drama in some private school makes this show incredibly stupid.
The world building is extremely unrealistic. the characters are unrealistic and are either "overreaction funny character D:" or "oooh the silent mysterious character"
Also all the reasons for mech battles so far are extremely idiotic.
A character asks a character to a duel just so the latter doesn't talk to another character
A character asks a character to a duel just to be his bride
A character asks a character to a duel just to cancel marriage
A character asks a character to a duel to fight another character.
etc..
seriously, this is hands down one of the worst writing I ever saw. 5 episodes and there's nothing but marriage and dates with the MC. there's no real plot, it's hard to believe a big company approved this awful plot.
A lot of people use the "Why can't Gundam be different for once?" argument, but Gundam never tried to do the same thing.
ZZ was lighthearted compared to Zeta
0080 was different
0083 was Top Gun with Gundam
Victory was a slaughterhouse
G was DBZ with Gundam
Wing focused on politics and world peace
X was more adventure-y in post-apocalyptic world
Seed, 00, G-Reco and IBO weren't the same either
they were all shows about how war is bad, but Witch from Mercury isn't like this, it's a random comedy generic show.
What a disappointment of a show.
if you hate mechas and politics, you might like this dumb show.
if you are here to watch Gundam or mecha fights, watch something else.

In short, Baldios is like what happens when Grendizer and Layzner make a baby.
Baldios tells the story of Marin, who left his planet fleeing from a traitor Hitler-like bad guy called Gattler, who killed Marin's father and the planet leader just to overtake command and invade other planets.
both Marin and Gattler forces leave the dying S-1 planet and accidentally stumble upon the earth with Marin deciding to help Earthlings while Gattler deciding to invade Earth.
I came to this show not expecting much since it looked cheap and kinda generic at first but surprisingly, it had interesting new ideas, good character development, and tragic moments.
The animations,
...
however, are pretty bad and might send people off but for those who don't mind (like Gundam 0079 animations) won't have much trouble enjoying this series.
What I liked the most about this show is how the bad guys don't rely on their mechs all the time like in other super robot shows, but they even plan disasters like floods, poison crops to make people starve to death, mess with other planets to hurt Earth's gravity, etc... it's pretty much a series of brutal disasters.
It also has a nice touch of random background characters contributing to the drama like how some of the good guys base employees try to threaten Marin for being an alien whenever they feel desperate to save their families.
Since this show is canceled, the show ends with a cliffhanger but luckily there's a movie to fill in the ending.
Overall, I give this show a 8/10 for having great drama, new ideas, and for its brutal nature. (it's a low-key kill 'em all show like Ideon)
If you like vintage super robot shows regardless of animations quality, you will like Baldios.

This is the Grendizer prototype/test pilot that was shown with Great Mazinger vs Getter Robo G manga before Grendizer aired on TV.
This movie shares the same story, music, characters and premise with Grendizer with few differences like the absence of totally different lead robot, the absence of Koji Kabuto and different character designs.
Despite being short, it's very fun to watch especially if you are fan of Grendizer and other Mazinger works and it's always interesting to see what could have been.
If you are interested in rare classics or if you are big fan of Go Nagai works, give this movie a watch

Not surprised that this is another terrible Pokemon movie.
Where to begin?
- Unoriginal story, literally a rip off of Tarzan but worse
- Typical cartoon villain being a bad guy because he's a bad guy (also extremely dumb, recording a proof of his evil plot for no good reason as if he wanted to be caught)
- Team Rocket role felt forced and unnecessary
- The humor is just etremely old jokes
- Tons of cliche ideas
- Overused "pokemon and humans must co-exist!" as if this subplot hasn't been used millions of times
- Just like in the previous movie, Ash doesn't do anything for most of the
...
movie. It feels like even the writers are sick of him and don't know what to do with him
- The movie tries to be sad and emotional, but nothing that I haven't already seen done in other works
- There isn't even an interesting pokemon fights, you get a pokemon vs big robot that have been used too many times in pokemon before, and in a couple of pokemon movies too
Just like the video games, there isn't any competing writing or direction. It's extremely average product that exists just to sell merchs.
Make your children watch Disney's Tarzan instead, seriously.

Getter Robo Arc is a faithful adaptation of the manga by the same name.
The animations isn't that great but the show deserves a chance.
It tells the story of humans and dinosaur people working together to fight an alien civilization to save the Earth but one of them realized that they can't co-exist as long as Getter posing a threat to the entire universe.
Pros:
- Faithful to the manga
- The added backstory and lore segments were nice, which weren't in the manga
- Black Shin Tarak and the new getters that appeared were hype as fuck
- Seeing animated segments from Go and Shin mangas were great
- Using old
...
songs is a nostalgia ride
- (Hopefully) revived the interest of Getter Robo and classic mecha genre so we might get more anime in the future
- Overall fun to watch
Cons:
- You need to read 4 mangas (Getter Robo, GR G, GR Go, Shin GR) before watching this (5 if you include its base material, Getter Arc manga) so it's not accessible for newcomers
- Some characters didn't get much story and development
- left too much for desire. e.g a certain Getter appeared again but we still don't to know much about it
- We didn't get to see the climax of the battle that happened in the end of the manga. the ending got abrupted in both the manga and the anime for some reason.
- The animation is rough and really terrible in some scenes but It was manageable to watch
- The ending will leave you with so many questions but maybe it's for a 2nd season
Overall: 8/10
It's a treat for Getter fans (especially the manga readers). Those however who only watched the 70s shows or the OVAs might be either super confused or disappointed as Arc have different art and style.
If you are new to getter, then most likely you won't be able to enjoy this. If it still tickles your interest, read the mangas then watch Getter Arc.

Story: Unbelievable and slow
Characters: extremely generic, and most of them are barely have much writing or development. You are supposed to feel sad for characters that you barely get to know
Animation: The best part of the show
86 is a war drama with children soldiers who are forced to fight for an empire that for some reason doesn't want to fight except by sending children to die.
your MC is the typical naive dumb girl who wants to fix everything by crying and screaming all the time.
Your other MC is the typical emo silent sad boy with tragic past that barely talks.
The rest of the show are
...
random asshole kids that somehow keep smiling when they know they are going to die but whenever someone dies they blame the girl MC for trying to help them. Don't ask why and how, because the show doesn't have any believable writing at all.
The mech actions are all the same and they aren't exciting because they just happen to repeat the same characters' interactions over and over.
On the bright side, The animation and art are great. The world-building is interesting even though it's poorly explored.
I hope Season 2 fixes the issues of this show because it has potential but ended up being cliche and rarely makes any sense.
