This anime is one of the example as to why you don't judge a book by its cover. Why? I started the anime expecting a wholesome, funny and a feel good slice of life, while it does have those elements, there are also some elements I wasn't expecting and that is the inclusion of a more serious topic like abusive parents, an abusive relationship, parents neglecting their child and more. Dr. Stone quickly became one of my favorite Shonen Jump Manga because of its unique yet interesting premise. It is one of the best manga I've read and there's multiple reasons as to why that is. It felt very unique and was able to make an amazing story from a very experimental premise.
Oshi No Ko was written by Akasaka Aka which is very well known for their other work, Kaguya-sama Love Is War. I went into the manga expecting it to feel similar to Kaguya-sama but it exceeded my expectation by being a unique yet amazing manga. The art is done by Mengo Yokoyari and damn it looks AMAZING! Highly recommended to people who loves manga that have a drama element yet also ... |
