If you liked the Sakuragi gang in Slam Dunk I feel like there's some similar vibes to enjoy in Boukyaku Battery in terms of funny talk between the team players. Although, Kei Kaname initially played baseball before high school, he starts from the bottom because of a loss of all knowledge about it which is kind of similar to Hanamichi's start where he's physically strong but know nothing about basketball.

Action is above par with deep themes, well written characters & great premise.

Nakami have troubles to sleep at night so when he meets with Magari it eases his sleeping which he always struggled with and as a result they start hanging out in the observatory. watch both these shows at night to elevate your experience.

Both develop their love interest but cannot express it easily. Yamada and Amane are dense with no experience with girls & they're always distancing themselves from others. Akane and Mahiru captivate the boys into liking them by using their charm and throughout the series's you feel that both couples complement each other quite nicely with some interesting interactions, warm and wholesome vibes overall. Totally recommended to check both!
