Although i am giving this show only 7 (which means i wouldn't be likely to rewatch this show) i felt like i watched something like never before. This show doesn't want to pamper me with ideal hero like characters with 0 flaws or flaws that are meant to be cute. This show tries to show characters in the worst light possible making you cringe so hard like never before. Except for leading character Nana (Komatsu) there is no character development whatsoever and every character is being destined to repeat mistakes over and over again. I hardly recall any happy moments in this show and if
...
there was happy moment it was usually very unsettling as if something bad will come out of that particular situation...
So there you have it, if you want to watch a show that starts real slow and then builds up a hope for a lead character that you are supposed to like only to have its image shattered over and over again, go for it. But then again this show doesn't want to show you idealized characters that you fall in love with. It wants to show you how defective we as humans can be.
As far as production is concerned, the mixing and sound is just not on par with modern shows there are moments when room that voice is placed in doesn't really match the room depicted in animation but i hardly think it will distract you from the plot. Soundtrack is very subtle more like temp music not something to remember but depicts each atmosphere very nicely. Although if done better it could have had even bigger emotional impact.
The real forte of this show are transitions... both visual and plot transitions... they are made with such aesthetical care that everytime i think about this show i recall few of them on the spot.
