- Both involve time travel as a main feature and device of the plot and it's not a later plot development or hidden twist, but a main selling point upfront of both series. - Both have educational merit teaching audiences about different historical time periods, different laws, customs, flora and fauna, technology, even measurement systems within them, as well as some historical figures. And both could qualify as "edutainment" for this reason. - Both contain and don't shy away from some darker topics and moments to be a reflection of what is true to history, but are not too explicit and "safe" enough to still show most children and family audiences of all ages. - Both are based on older source material relative to when the anime series came out. T.P. Bon being based on a manga which started 46 years before the anime's release and ran from the late 1970s to mid-1980s (specifically from 1978 - 1986), while the anime didn't come out until 2024. Time Travel Shoujo is based on a book by a Japanese educator from 1983, and the anime series didn't come out until 2016. - The main difference is that Time Travel Shoujo, at least so far (T.P. Bon is still airing) involves more real historical figures in the form of famous inventors whereas T.P. Bon focuses more on the unknown and little people caught up in historical happenings.
