Despite being separated by hundreds of years both series are set in the unforgving words full of violece. Hectoliters of boold are shead and dissmembered body parts fly left and right. And in both cases the violence does not exist just for the shock factor but is an istrument of world building and catalize development of the heros. Main characters are like mirrors immagies of each other. David starts the story as fully flaged human but with the passing time he replaces them with augmentations Hyakimaru starts his journey as a corps without his senses and limbs which has been replaced with prostesis. When David is loosing himself during his journey Hyakimaru is lerning what it means to be a human. And last but not least opening song are very simmilar thematicly in case of Edgerunners it's This Fffire by Franz Ferdinand in case of Dorroro it's "Kaen"(Fire) by Ziyoou-vachi.
