Exceptional story, engaging progression, multidimensional characters, deeply emotional, subtle yet powerful premise = Josee, the Tiger and the Fish

I was so excited for this movie because the Korean Live Action adaptation is one of my least favorite films. I’ve never read the original source material, but this anime adaptation exceeded my expectations.

Story: A captivating, thoughtful story, filled with events and drama that actually have meaning. I was pleasantly surprised at how the narrative explored the challenges of living with a disability, diving into themes with depth and sensitivity. The film truly focuses on the personal growth of its characters and their evolving relationships. If you ... thought the synopsis was underwhelming, the movie itself is anything but!

Characters: Every character in this film is nuanced, interesting, and deeply expressive. I felt every emotion they went through. Josee, the female lead, is 24 but has an emotional maturity that shines throughout. She’s complex, real, and compelling. The male lead has an admirable sense of responsibility and personal growth, even when faced with tough decisions. He’s genuinely likable and relatable, and the development in his character felt organic. The supporting cast is equally strong and adds richness to the story, each contributing meaningfully to the plot.

Art: The art is breathtaking. The visuals were so thoughtfully crafted, every scene was beautiful and immersive, making me appreciate the effort and care put into the animation.

Sound: The soundtrack was unforgettable, with a score that perfectly complemented the emotional depth of the film. The voice actors did an outstanding job, bringing the characters to life with so much emotion and subtlety. The ending song felt like a powerful and unique anthem, entirely its own.

In conclusion, do yourself a favour and skip the live-action adaptation. This anime version is a beautifully executed, emotional journey that I highly recommend. It is far superior in every way.

Jokes aside i did actually enjoy the film.

I started watching anime in 2012. i have watched and enjoyed many shows since then, this is no exception. this show takes everything good about the manga and improves upon it. it went far beyond my expectations and has become one of my favorite shows. i love everything about the show and it ended exactly how i wanted it to. i'm happy this exists and hope others will take the time to give it a chance.

The sound: In grounding objects and characters into the world, the sound does a great job in doing this. the music used throughout episodes are all memorable and set the ... mood of desolate wasteland.

The Art: Although they uses 3D for a couple of shots with the characters and the vehicle, it is always minimal and unimportant scenes where it does not detract from the overall experience. other than that the art is brilliant in that it stays simplistic while creating a world with so much detail.

The Story: The story follows the two characters and is explained by way of the world and the characters exploring said world

The Characters: both characters are lovable and cute, but it is not this aspect that makes the show great. the characters often think and wonder about their situation and the world they are in, this makes them feel real and makes you really feel for the characters when situations of longevity happen.

Enjoyment: I loved every episode and wanted to watch more at the end of every episode. i don't think i could like it more than i already do

Overall: I'm probably not the best person to got to if you're looking for reasons why it could be better and how they could improve the show. i'm writing this review because i really do love everything that this show does and hope that others will be able to watch it and enjoy it as much as i have
