Oh, boy Demon Slayer has returned! And what do I think of it? Eh.

This review contains spoilers for the movie and previous season so here is a TLDR: Tanjiro is the most one-dimensional character I have ever seen.

Let's start with some positives. GOD DAMN the animation is really good. Shame that the animation budget isn't spent on other manga :/ The music is pretty decent. Uhh, the fights were pretty cool. Good cinematography.

That's about it.

Ok, ill put it simply. I like anime characters with a lot of depth. Characters that I can think about and think about their actions. If it has a ... lot of layers for me it is often a good character. But Tanjiro. Is so one-dimensional it literally kills me. I hate how he is literally just the purest thing in the existence of ever. What the fuck? The man literally watched his family die? Where is some sort of emotion? I am referring to the scene where the kids were going in their subconscious. Now at first, I was ok with this as the child first entered, then he got to the core. Once again just pure. No underlying tone of anger or sorrow. Literally, that would've been 10x better for Tanjiro still showing he is haunted, haunted by his past. When the main character in your story is literally one-dimensional the character it kinda makes it hard to get emotional.

All the characters in this series are just one note. Nezuko, I am cute.

Inosuke, Scream.

Zenitsu, I will do nothing all series. Unless I am sleeping

RenGoku, actually he was pretty cool.

Just most of the characters don't make me feel for them. Tanjiro literally recovered from his family being murdered and is just vibing with it. I just can't get that.

DON'T GET ME WRONG it's not a bad movie. But once again over hype. It is not the next coming of Christ. So my expectations were high and I was let down.

Overall, while Demon Slayer has amazing animation, pretty decent sound, a very interesting theme, the characters just let it down. With being so one-dimensional it hurts.

So recently my review got taken down for fair reasoning, so I decided to rewrite my review so I solely focus on more of the actual show itself than just shitting on the community for no good reason. This wall of text has been edited.

So let me start off by saying I do like Attack On Titan I think the first few seasons are really good examples on the anime and manga medium but as we all know the most recent season dropped. Dropped hard. At first, I didn’t think there was much wrong with it just a little awkward CG and sort of weird ... audio mixing but other than that eh it was a decent start.

Then after the Attack On Marley episodes started airing, is when my problem soon started to rise. The Warhammer Titan. The animation of the Warhammer Titan is not good. Not good at all. Actually the titans in general are extremely poorly animated. Also just as a side note I really dislike the animation of the opening I just want something cool but let’s be real it was pretty lazy. The song is a fucking bop but the actual animation of it is really disappointing compared to literally any other AOT Opening. The animation overall is poor. It isn't good. While I understand the schedule and how unfortunate it is, but I am reviewing what I am seeing and what I am seeing is weird line work, sloppy movement, terrible fight scenes, and even bad character models. It is bad. Very bad.

The sound also really disappointing. Now let’s start off with the Soundtrack or the lack there of. There is literally just no good tracks besides from one they overused in the trailer. They don’t even utilise the best part of the song but they just overuse it for the sort of “ oh cool “ sort of stuff not the “HOLY SHIT” stuff. I remember screaming that at the reveal in AOT S2. The soundtrack was popping in my ears and it was just a good time. Though it’s not here that same feeling just isn’t here. Songs like ' You See Big Girl ' or other amazing tracks are barely used. Those are the tracks that personally get me going. They get me excited. Why am I not excited?

The story. Ok here is one of the problems with AOT itself. The story is a bit wonky. I feel 90% of the time AOT doesn’t know what it wants to be. Like it was a mystery survival horror which was what got me into the series then it wants to be a human vs human struggle which was fine. BUT NOW WE ARE STRAIGHT UP MILITARY STRUGGLE. Like damn. I think I just really miss the mystery of the show to be honest. Lets not even talk about the shit ass underuse of so many characters. Armin has literally done nothing all series besides from the last chapter it took him over 137 chapters to do something. Mikasa who had a fucking brand that we had no idea about no hint it was just there. That’s just fucking lazy. Plus she also does nothing but be like damn Eren for the whole series so cool. Levi. I like Levi but god damn I want him to do more cool shit. Eren is fine. All the side characters like Jean, Connie and others to me feel under-utilised as well who are just in and out of existence. A lot of characters just feel half baked.

Ok now the main reason why I wrote the original review the community. Now don’t get me wrong I can respect extremely passionate people about anime or manga, I am exactly like this with Berserk and I will not lie I have had arguments with people before over Berserk. However the overwhelming amount of Love and Hate this series gets is staggering. Look it’s not a life-changing masterpiece, but it is also not a extremely shit series with no substance. It is somewhere in between. Now I personally hate seeing ships in any series they just gross me out since it’s taking away from the source material of the story but when people ship Zeke and Levi or Eren it’s just annoying and gross man. There has been no indication of them having any sort of romance thing going on and it’s very fucking weird when people are into that shit. I don’t ship characters because I think it takes away from a lot of the stories because it is not what the original mangaka intended. Like shipping Griffith and Guts because of their backstories no. That’s not how it works. Plus the passionate some people put into the series is really off-putting and once again I am like this with Berserk to a fault but it is a lesson we need to learn. That while we love our anime and manga we need to just let people have their own opinion and if they are willing to discuss then discuss but if not just leave it you don’t need to validate your own opinion but changing someone’s else’s.

Overall AOT doesn’t deserve the immense amount of hate but it also doesn’t deserve the immense amount of love it is just somewhere in the middle. Be reasonable with your reviews folks it’s not 1 but it is definitely not 10. There are many problems within the story itself and with the fanbase but that is any anime to be fair. Ok, now I know I am gonna get hate for this review but when your least favourite character in an anime gets a movie all to her self it really makes me dislike the series. Emilia the most useless person in the history of ever! So if you are sensitive to me shitting on Emilia just don't bother.

She is the most annoying useless character in all of anime. Sakura is more useful FUCKING SAKURA. God damn all Emilia does in the series is look cute and be like " Oh yo Subaru I'm useless but because I'm beautiful you'll do everything in your power ... to help me, even though I will do nothing for you other than lol let me pat your head. " Dumb as shit. I hate Emilia so much.

I literally can't understand people liking her. No, this movie is not a 10/10 nowhere near. The story if you can even call it that just follows Emilia be sad ): nothing interesting. Nothing New. Nothing. I like Re:Zero S1 but the movie and the two recent seasons are killing it so fucking hard. Snoozefest that is all it is. I don't mind slow anime for fuck sake I am going through Naruto with filler, but god damn Re:Zero makes it so hard to enjoy it anymore, there is no pay off no tension just bleh.

I was never really a fan of One Punch Man, while it had great animation that was it, it was like a really good looking sandwich, that was just cardboard. Like yeah damn, that sandwich looks good but it tastes super bland. Then I watched Mob Psycho.

Mob Psycho is the almost perfect sandwich. It looks great, tastes great, even SMELLS great. To be honest, I don't even know what the sandwich lacks, but I guess there is something missing. Maybe extra fresh lettuce or mommas secret sauce.

While overall it is one of my favourite anime of all time it isn't perfect. I don't even ... know how to describe why. The Art is amazing. It sounds amazing, but I guess it is because there isn't a HUGE amount of depth when it comes to the characters. While they definitely aren't one-note, it's not as complex and psychological as I like my bread.

I think I am finding myself enjoying really thick bread with lots of different toppings to them.

Mob Psycho's bread has maybe 5 or so toppings which don't get me wrong is delicious in its own right, I think it just doesn't have that 6th to make the perfect sandwich.

Overall it is still a really good series, with some of the best-tasting sandwichs I have ever eaten. 9/10 would each there again.

Ok, I went into KonoSuba looking for a light-hearted anime to get a change of pace from my usual Seinen Manga or Horror / Shonen Anime but holy hell. To put it simply the characters in this show ruin it HARD. Aqua, Darkness, Megumi, and whatever the main characters name is, is sooooooooo 1 dimensional, it is so irritating to see aqua do anything in this show. She gets under my skin so much and it is so annoying.

While my mindset was originally was to attempt something new, I did try other anime like No Game No Life, to see if it was just ... the Isekai Genre I dislike as a whole. No, it is just KonoSuba.

The literally only enjoyment I got out of this show was episode 9 (;. But somehow they ruin that plotline by overdoing it! The show shows boobies and such just to get a kick out of gentlemen. IF I WAS GOING TO WATCH HENTAI I WOULD'VE WATCHED HENTAI. NOT TEASE THE EVERLASTING SHIT OUT OF ME.

I am big on the plot in my anime. Even SAO has a least a better storyline than this. ( SAO isn't that good as well )

It really annoys me that animes with this story get this form of animation unlike some pieces like Berserk, GunGrave, Cowboy Bebop gets old animation or flat out just bad animation. I just think there are so many masterpieces out there that deserve a proper anime adaptation! Like Uzumaki! Or Vagabond!!! Not Killing Stalking though..

My main point is a lot of these types of anime with annoying characters or endless fan service ( Don't Look At HighSchool DXD Being On My To Watch List... ) and especially when the plot does not feel impactful. That is the main thing that bugs me about this anime.

If you take one look at either my anime or manga list I am pretty sure you will see I am a big fan of Berserk. To put it simply all I have to say is that I love this series. It is beautifully illustrated, written, and told to us. From the humble or ~edgy~ beginnings of the Black Swords Man Arc to the warmth of the Golden Age Arc. Berserk tells us a beautiful story with characters that feel real, Guts, especially in this case. He is probably one of the most fleshed-out characters to this date. I can ramble and ramble on about ... Berserk for hours but for the sake of time and for your sanity, if you haven't read it yet, please do.
