My favourite arc is the Conviction Arc closely followed by the Golden Age Arc. What about you?
I'm good, wbu?
I have seen a shit ton of anime but I'll always hold Berserk 1997 close.
A lot of people shit on the Black Swordsman arc but I feel that it's a satisfying introduction to the world and Guts' character before we dive right into Golden Age. My personal favorite arc was Conviction. Another reason why I hated Berserk 2016 since they axed Lost Children lol. Loved Mozgus as a villain, probably one of the most memorable ones to me. Puck in Conviction was just great.
The only thing putting me off from watching One Piece is that it's long and I don't have that much time on my hands lol, but I'm going to start the manga. It receives a lot of unnecessary hate.
I noticed you're a JoJo fan too. It's not my favorite series but I can appreciate Araki's artistic flair. A lot of people highly praise Steel Ball Run, what did you think of it (if you've read that far) ?
Nah, you're right. Redo of Healer is miles ahead of Berserk in terms of character development, storytelling and worldbuilding.
This one guy on forums only recently said "there's no point in reading something that will never be finished" lmaoo. I shouldn't even bother with those kinds of people, especially considering he had Seven Deadly Sins in the favorites but hey I ain't judging. The posthumous chapter was a fitting end to the series, all things considered. It offers a sort of hope for the future of the world of Berserk. We may not be able to witness it but we can imagine it. It's a beautiful outcome that leaves the characters to rest after living through hell. Those complaining about the abrupt ending are (a) mfs who think they can bring Miura back from the dead or (b) edgy kids who still haven't moved on from the dark tone of the earlier arcs and don't want to see anyone happy. What did you think?
1997 was the most accurate adaptation and it stayed true to the source material for the most part. It's a shame the anime went downhill from there.
I remember hearing people say Berserk declined after the Eclipse which is absurd. Seems like they're either kids or Griffith simps who can't come to terms with his fall to evil lol.
What do you think about Puck's character? I honestly think he's a much-needed source of light in a very dark world
There's two types of people that call the Big 3 'mid', elitists and AOT fans. Kinda weird how those two overlap, though elitists probably wouldn't be caught dead watching/reading AOT. Just shows the superiority complex a lot of AOT fans have. People who use that word in general to describe something are just looking for an excuse to not have to elaborate on why they think something is bad.
God, Berserk 2016 and 2017's CGI was something else I swear. Gonna have to agree that the soundtrack slaps. I was treading on eggshells a bit earlier since I saw you had 2016 in your favorites but thankfully you found it bad too haha. I get that, the concept of Berserk itself is what's important to you.
I saw you on forums and I thought "damn, this guy really likes Berserk" so I sent a fr. That's pretty much it
I was personally a big fan of Judeau for the way he assisted Guts and Casca. An honorable guy, it was a shame how he went.
"Peak fiction", that's hilarious. Look, I'm not one to judge and I can understand people have different tastes but for people to be so blind to its shortcomings? And then they come in and call everything else that's popular 'mid', especially anything from the Big 3. I assume there will be some kind of war on social media during AOT's airing with how it will end. Also the obligatory CGI titan memes.
Of course, Berserk is one of those obvious examples where the manga stands out more prominently. I wasn't a fan of Berserk 2016 not gonna lie and it's not because of animation. Crucial parts of the story were left out and I didn't like the way Farnese's character was portrayed.
It's funny how butthurt AOT fans get when people criticize the evident flaws in its narrative. To be honest I'm looking forward to when the final season part 2 airs so I can see the shitshow unfold between the die hard fans of the manga and anime-only watchers.
