CG is bad,but you get used to it and it kinda makes sense because the enemies are made of energy.
Sure, there ARE better things to watch(very subjective, but eh).But it's a good choice if you want a decently long shounen and like the positive aspects i mentioned in my first post. The Manga sells well even through the bad beginning and slow pacing at parts(Those things normally kill shounens because the normal audience hates both!) so it clearly makes up for the bad beginning it had for some people, because it does some things rarely done well in shounen well.
Eh, as lame and easy of a response as this is to respond with to an argument, i don't like that fight. It has a huge ammount of toei(worst studio by far) fuck ups.The wall jump is a fail of the art department(look at the wall lol),the part where he jumps onto a building and it gets destroyed is actually supposed to be him jumping behind the building(but is kinda hard to understand). The high points of the scene are the interesting mechanichs which come in play with FUJİN(green sword, all of the explanation is cut from the clip btw, which makes it really pointless imo) and the resolution, which is built towards in a way in which you can guess that it will somehow be favorable for the MCs,but you do not know how,and not knowing how good the fighters are makes it somewhat intriguing.Btw 15 is appearently wrong, since this arc is still bad(imo). The War arc is the first watchable arc.
Lol
Well, people have different opinions I guess.
I was quite optimistic with this anime, so I didn't mind the dreadful pacing. It's a long-running series, so I gave it its sweet time.
Later on, it started to excel, everything is strategically thought about, which makes every fight very engaging.
The reason behind why you got confused by their movements is because the person who uploaded the vid cut the parts where they strategise out, showing you just the fight scenes, which I think is a horrible mistake on his part.
Especially when it comes to a show that mainly revolves around them.
Nice review, but everyone agrees with what you said, even the fans. The problem is that the setting is very generic,so a good first arc is needed, but the first arc is garbage. Was forced to watch trough the first episodes by my friend, around 15 episodes are really horrible even if you like shounen(not sure about the number).
The first big arc is where the show starts become watchable. The show's fights and events are based on tactics, and they are not just understandable, but also feel logical and interesting. The criticism of the characters was also what i thought, but the charachters develop in interesting ways, and while MC still retains his way of thinking and is stubborn,it feels like he does get punished for it at times. The interesting part is that The side characters are not disposable, but actually have a lot of detail, and some have development and backstories, which is very unusual for a HUGE cast. The best arc is porbably the tournament arc towards the end,it gives the show room to show well thought out tactical battles between charachters from the huge cast, and develop the said cast.it also has a surprising ammount of anti tropes.
Well, the show does continiue to have bad sides. The girl MC is dull outside of one point,The animation is horrible(better for good arcs),the filler arc is horrible, the stills are horrible, the 4 minute summary each episode is horrible, the comedy is horrible at some points(more like cliche, but still),the ending is not an ending,it's 'wait for S2',well you probably get the point. But this doesn't really negate the highs of the show for the most part.
The gist of it is,while the first episodes are horrible, your prediction is not really correct(at least imo),and suggesting to judge this show by first episodes is unreasonable,'coz in that case you are better off not watching it at all.
I just read your World Trigger review,
and let me tell you, this was EVERYONE'S first reaction to this anime.
The anime starts to get good from episode 15 onwards, and that is because it took it's time developing the setting.
While the beginning is VERY VERY slow, the rest is awesome.
Great action combined with smart strategies.
*SPOILER WARNING" I will give you a link to a video of one of the fights https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iD9hyhBBKCQ
I hope you give it another chance, the series is genuinely good : )
