Kenichi, a single man in his 40s, is transported into another world for no apparent reason. As he tries to escape a dangerous forest teaming with monsters, he realizes he has the power to access to a huge online store.

By using this power to exchange goods he found in this new world for cash, and then buying modern ones off the internet, he was able to quickly create a very popular business. However, his goal is to have a slow and leisurely life. Instead of growing his business even more, he decides to settle down and live off of the power of Jeff Bezos.

Preliminary (13/13 eps)

This is the type of anime that I really like, as a fellow uncle I really like the theme of a relaxed isekai anime, entering isekai and living a relaxed life. Similar to cooking in another world (Tondemo Skill de Isekai Hourou Meshi) this anime is similar to that, the skills possessed by the MC are also similar, I don't know what the storyline of this anime will be like in the future, but so far 3 episodes I am satisfied and I deserve to give it an 8. I might give it a 9 if the MC suddenly becomes overpowered, gets a noble title ... for his achievements in the field of technological advancement, becomes a harem master, and there is more fan service in the anime. Honestly I don't follow the manga/LN, I also don't want to read it, because I like a surprising story. In essence I highly recommend this anime.

First of all, that is one lame ass titles. You could easily replace it with something like, "A 40-Year-Old Man Gambles His Life Away on a Pachinko Machine in Another World Until He Dies of a Heart Attack" and it wouldn’t affect this anime’s appeal in the slightest.

As an isekai, this anime doesn’t even try to explain the whole "transported to another world" concept. It just throws it in your face and expects you to piece it together yourself. It’s like the author knew we’ve already sat through a thousand isekai shows at this point and thought, "Why bother with the usual setup?"

Instead, we get ... a 30-second montage of some random guy getting teleported into another world, complete with that one song from Stanley Kubrick’s space movie to make it more epic.

And just like the author, the MC doesn’t seem all that bothered about being teleported to a whole new world. His reaction is basically on par with that one annoying main character from Forspoken: "Yeah okay,that is something that i do now,i can summon a status window,do online shopping on thin air and yada yada"
So you know the drill—don’t take this anime too seriously, and definitely don’t bring logic into the mix. If questions like “But how?” or “But why?” pop into your head, just body-slam them into submission. Overthinking this show will only leave you annoyed, confused, or worse—both.

So, is this anime worth watching? Well, that depends. If you’re into an isekai that starts off as a seemingly innocent slice-of-life but slowly spirals into something that’s definitely not a slice of anyone’s life, this might scratch that itch. Sure, you’ll probably notice some similarities to other shows—because, it's noticeableb that this anime borrows a few plot points here and there—but at least it’s still fun to watch. Or, at the very least, bearable.

Another aspect of this anime that might be a positive point is the MC himself—a genuinely nice but competent guy. You can tell he was raised right by his parents, and this isn’t just my opinion; even the other characters in the show agree. Despite being a 40-year-old man, he’s capable of doing things most middle-aged guys wouldn’t dream of. Sure, he’s a slightly modified version of the “all-powerful solo MC,” but at least he’s not some overpowered mage with cheat skills who casts explosions and steamrolls every villain in his path.

And just like the MC, most of the supporting characters aren’t total jerks who exist solely to make his life miserable—minus a few antagonists, of course.

The anime also throws in a bit of fanservice, but it’s more of a sprinkle than a full-on serving. And since our MC is a mature, middle-aged man, he handles it like a pro. So don’t expect the usual blushing, awkward mess you’d get from your average middle-schooler-reincarnated-into-another-world protagonist.

Overall,might not be your first choice to watch but if you have more than enough spare time,give this one a try, you might enjoy it.

If Campfire Cooking in Another World with My Absurd Skill had a middle-aged uncle with less charisma and a questionable online shopping addiction, you’d end up with Around 40 Otoko no Isekai Tsuuhan. This anime follows the story of a 40-year-old man who gets transported to another world. His “cheat skill” is an online store that allows him to purchase items from his original world and sell them for a hefty profit in the new one. Logical? Not really. Entertaining? Well... that depends on how much you enjoy watching a middle-aged protagonist thrive as an e-commerce king in a medieval fantasy setting.

In a world where ... we’re inundated with 4–5 isekai series every season, Around 40 Otoko no Isekai Tsuuhan feels like another addition to the growing pile of isekai titles that borrow liberally from already successful formulas. If you’re familiar with Campfire Cooking, you’ll immediately spot the similarities: a quirky gimmick, a slice-of-life pace, and a protagonist with absurd skills that inexplicably solve every problem.

Plot and Themes:

The anime begins with our protagonist, a 40-year-old salaryman, inexplicably transported to another world. His special ability? Access to an online store connected to his old world, where he can purchase modern items and resell them for massive profits in the fantasy world. They list of the prices of everything he purchases, I am not really sure why, maybe some people enjoy that but to me, he has infinite plot coins to spend as he pleases

One noticeable difference from most isekai is that this anime skews slightly more mature. While many series in the genre stick to playful flirting and harem antics, Around 40 Otoko no Isekai Tsuuhan hints at the protagonist actually pursuing physical relationships, though it’s handled with minimal focus and subtle dialogue.

However, beyond this minor deviation, the story meanders without a clear direction. Is this a slow-life anime? Is there an overarching antagonist waiting in the shadows? Is the harem route the focal point? The show drops hints at all of these possibilities but doesn’t commit to any of them.

Characters:

The protagonist is the quintessential middle-aged isekai lead—relatable to older viewers but lacking the charisma to make him truly compelling. His motivations are simple: make money, live comfortably, and occasionally indulge in the perks of his new world. While there’s potential to explore a more nuanced character arc for someone his age, the show doesn’t seem interested in taking that route.

The supporting cast is largely one-dimensional so far. While a few potential allies (and love interests) appear, none have been developed enough to stand out. If anything, the cast feels like background props for the protagonist’s online shopping escapades.

Art and Animation:

The visuals are serviceable but unremarkable. Character designs are generic, and the animation quality doesn’t go above average. It’s competent enough to convey the story but lacks the flair to make the setting or characters memorable.

Music:

The music is, unfortunately, forgettable. It blends into the background so much that it’s hard to recall any standout tracks. While it doesn’t detract from the experience, it also doesn’t enhance it.

Final Thoughts:

If the show can focus on character development or introduce a more compelling narrative, it might grow into something worthwhile. For now, though, it’s just another isekai filling the seasonal lineup.
