This show was "cute" to a point, but then the inherent "japanese tropes", poor characters and poor art overwhelmed any good will towards it. It's VERY bare bone SoL CGDCT, where the D might be silent.
First, it doesn't help that it is essentially 10 eps of exposition. There is no story, they aren't even doing anything substantial. It's just how the stuff works. Few fights here and there. Skeleton possession thing was cool, but nothing really came out of this impressive and cool ability. It's CGECT, cute girls explaining cute things, which is something you'd not want from an animated show.
Then it also became clear
...
that the Dark brood-erhood girl is so one-dimensional and her interactions with the world so asinine that it pulled me out of the story. She contributes nothing. Dungeon master loli might as well turn to "camera" and say what she does.
It's Clays..... "otaku master" persona, where she trained so hard, so long and so exclusive in her assassin ways that she doesn't know, of all things... how salt works. She doesn't know how to cook, how to behave, how to do ANYTHING. Most of the time she is channeling her inner Gerald.. "hmming", "ummming" and "naruhodo-ing" and thinking how to kill things. They also do this thing a lot, where instead of conversing as normal people do, they do the "monologue" communication, where each thinks what they should say to each other, an by necessity, falsely assume and misunderstand everything, for supposed comedic effect. whatever...
It boils down to that Clay is just... unlikable. Her singular goal of trying to find an opportunity to ask if loli killed her father is so khm... singular that she seems uninterested in anything and is just passing time and exposition until something happens, preferably something that will at the same time passively reveal the truth, a dungeon masters weakness, boost her chances and provide an opening for her to solve thing in the only way she knows.... by violence.
So I fully expect Clay to back stab Belle(because if she didn't panned to, she could just ask about her father), find her father alive, but disinterested and disappointed because Japanese shishos are always grumpy, cold, angry and whatnot, then realizing she killed her only friend... and shrugging her shoulders continuing her life trying to win approval of her absentee father figure by doing assassin stuff even better, without knowing how salt works.... Whatever it is, I'm not keen on staying around as long as to find out.
meh
