This Manga might make an alright anime, but is an extremely boring story and average as hell art for an isekai manga. It's like something that woud have come out ten years ago, but it does have a good cast of character diversity, handsome women and the like.

The complexity of some of it's ideas deserves better, but mainly a lack of good plot, or malice or threat hold it back from being more than an ok read. A cheap way to involve the romance in the charactization is the excuses of this borderline plot that would be used terribly. Not much re-read-ability for ... a harem plot. Only slightly enjoyable. 'Why a Blacksmith as the main?' is a question that never gets wholely explored in this.

It's a 5/10 for being wholely unremarkable in most aspects, background design, character design mostly, the originality of their abilities, and pacing. At least not in an interesting manner. This anime has a boring story and a mostly average cast of characters only matched by the boringness of the story.
Any Isekai manga has so much exciting potential with great mangaka working on it. Its character design is pretty and nice, but the whole thing builds up to a final battle that just doesnt happen.

I don't know whether to recommend or not, it's kind of forgettable.

They say when an anime is mostly carried by the visuals, that is a bad thing. Not so here say I, not a naysayer but a humble watcher of this masterpiece. They've has done it again, and has presented us with something beautiful. I thought the other seasons were good, but compared to this, well...
Let's just say this make the Soul Vampires look like kids stuff.

The story is basic but a gcongreattinuation, and is mostly irrelevant to the legendary fights being performed. The characters are amazing as always. The new Villian is amazing and maybe close to ... Aizen. A wonder to behold, this enrapturement, is a cacophony of color and sound. This deserves all the praises it gets plus more.

I recommend watching it with friends and family because it only heightens the experience. A must re-watch

This is sadly just a cliche, simplistic story of basically an isakai harem type protagonist. The animation is average. The protagonist is polite, but its the truth that his storylines are basic as hell. However, it is paced pretty well, and does not fall into the traps most anime of this type do, such as being from another world, being a lecher, or the multitude where they have a beach episode for no reason, even though they did have a credit scene with it.

Where its true strength lies is in it's great soundtrack, mainly the background music, not EP. Maybe the OP. It's decent, ... but all the other music is immaculately suited, and put together.
I am glad most of the characters are not as one-dimensional as the main.
The characters are smart in their design not being theyre entire character, usually. This wouldve been better if it contained some actually menacing villainy. Anyone who likes classic fairytale-like, style storylines contained in older fantasy animes will enjoy this series and all it has to offer, but probably not non-anime watchers. The lack of dealing with PTSD is laughable though... Feels like RWBY or something.

Limited re-watch-ability.
The characters are extremely well-rounded and have many flaws and strengths, although any characters from the second half are definitely of a lower grade except the secondray antagonist and maybe the little girl. Which little girl, you figure it out!

I somewhat recommend to Isekai lovers.

This anime has a deeply flawed story, only matched by it's copout ending.

It has alright music and art, and the complexity of some of it's ideas deserves better than the farce the story and characters actually have to give. The mystery around the villainy was wasted on a basic AI, a mysterious AI ready to kill all in his way, which you would think would make it a simple enough task not to be stopped, but it does because reasons, mainly a lack of good plot, or malice or threat. A cheap way to take the bad guy down. Not much in re-watch-ability.
I ... think they should've had a sad ending but not make it as much of a copout as the this ending, however we did not get that sadly, so instead of it being a seven or higher it's a 6/10.

like this anime enough to give it an 8, however flawed it may seem, it's simplicity in it's drama makes me appreciate it's quiet heart of a story and characters, as well as it's shocking moments and narrative.

It has great music and art, and deserves better than the farce the arguments about it's validity give. While the ending is too simple to be good, it is still better than what it's given credit for in that regard, even though it basically wraps things up in like ten minutes that had been building up for the whole runtime of the series. The mystery around the ... villainy was great, a mysterious woman ready to kill all in her way, but smart enough to not be stopped, mostly. Not much in re-watch-ability.
The whole political element was well used and sometimes effective but was a cheap way to extend the length and plot as well, since it was the most boring thing about this show. I think they still could've had a sad ending but not make it as much of a copout as it is, but I like it, compared to some types of endings.

This unique and simplistic story of a fantastic calibre tells a progressive story which is paced very well, however it falls into the traps where it lost all pacing, like when they focused more on the female characters for instance, who are more one-dimension than the male characters sadly, except towards the end.
The characters are hyper-intelligent in their ways and design. Anyone who hasn't already will enjoy this series and all it has to offer the globe, especially non-anime watchers. The way it deals with the horrors of war and death and PTSD but still has a mostly happy ending is in itself a miracle ... of storytelling.

I will re-watch this soon enough, since it has solid re-watch-ability.
This unique and brilliant story has sadly many pacing issues, especially earlier on in the series. However, the heart of it is in my opinion it's greatest strength by having great shifts in lighting of the backgrounds and amazing visual cues. The characters are extremely well-rounded and have many flaws and strengths, although any characters from the first half except the 86 are definitely of a lower grade.

Worth it's weight in gold. I hole-heartily recommend, but the second is better.

This is in my opinion a hidden gem of animation. I love the style and the simplicity of the story and characters. I mean, he's 8man, what's better than that!?!

So what if the story and character-work is basic as all, it's still fun, kind of like Speed Racer. I used to watch this with speed racer with my mother, who used to watch these when she was young. At first I thought he was called eightman because he had 8 powers, kind of like a Marvel comics villain, but to no avail.

Eightman is a great character and sadly the other shows/movies, etc, of him are ... not good. I wish this got a good remake, but it doesn't need it.

I enjoy the absolute pants out of this.

Please watch this with an open mind and an artists soul.

I watched this when I was a kid because my mum kind of liked it when she was younger. One thing you can say good about it is that it has alright art and sound for when it made and it does follow a progression. Also, that it's consistent in it's plot and themes and quality, and it does do a good job of bringing the manga to screen.

However it does happen to be hard to get all the episodes and to figure out what order they were in, however I do not hold that against it. It's a lower popularity anime from the 80's, ... so many things can be forgiven.

However this anime has aged like milk in comparison to even some other shows of it's time, especially in the art and sound, and story-wise too. I would love this to be a great underappreciated anime, and it is a little, but it's not good in really any way except the fact it might have inspired a lot of the Lion King, although perhaps only on a subconscious level, because they didn't realize it until it was already almost complete. Nice of the maker of this not to sue.

Watch to see an example of a somewhat child anime from the 80's that was mostly average, perhaps even back then, who knows?
