Hello, my fellow anime fans. Anime is a great deal in my life. I have found comfort and peace when allowing myself to be enveloped in "their" worlds. I enjoy all genres, though right now I indulge in slice-of-life. Friend me and I bet we could have great conversations about which anime "we" should watch next!

Tbh, it’s something you get used to. In my first year of university, I felt really self conscious eating alone in the cafeteria, but now I don’t care. As for the cinema, I’m still working on it, lol. I want to check out the new Overlord movie, but I’ll probably have to watch it alone since my friends don’t watch anime, and going with my sister might feel weird because Overlord has some twisted humor π π³. DDD, in this case, is Dandadan, pretty crazy and chaotic. I think it’s funny, hope you like it π©π. About recs, there are two things I really hate in general which are wasting my time and hypocrites. I feel bad giving a rec if the person doesn’t like it because I feel like I made them waste their time, which they’ll never get back.
Damn, that sucks. I hate when people act all high and mighty, especially when it’s related to language, because it can really hinder someone’s confidence, which is so important. You should have called them out when they were trash talking you, at least they might’ve felt ashamed or something. Making friends when you grow older is defintely harder, don't know why it's harder to connect and create bonds, you can meet ppl but going from acquaintances or work buddies to friends is difficult, well at least I haven't found the formula. Damn, that’s a lot of languages! I’ve heard that once you learn a few, picking up another one is easier, but yeah, that’s still quite a feat. I think I’ll stick to learning Japanese, though, lol. Learning another language is too much of a pain. I can see why your husband wants to live abroad, he needs to put all those languages into practice!
I like Christmas! Sure, it doesn’t hit the same as when you’re a kid, but I still enjoy the vibe. My country is usually hot, but around this time, the weather gets colder and rainy, which I like. Plus, I enjoy the food, lol. Yeah, it’s a tradeoff because you tend to spend a lot during the holidays, but I think my family understands my situation and knows I can’t afford to buy expensive gifts.I also enjoy watching Christmas movies, and I associate Christmas with having free time. I think only twice I didn’t get much free time during the holidays, both times was when I worked at a call center, and they wouldn’t give me the day off ππ, they hated seeing their employees happy lmao.
Being completely honest, I’ve never watched Korra. I saw the first episode, but what they introduced didn’t hook me. My sister watched it and told me it wasn’t bad, but I kind of dropped it and never looked back. I’d love to see a continuation of the main series, though. There’s still so much interesting stuff left to tell, and I really like the cast. I’d enjoy seeing their interactions again.
Thanks! Likewise, it’s nice talking to you. :)
That said, looking at the situation positively, I have some free time now, so I’ve been on a binging spree. Hey, who knows? I might catch up to your 800 anime soon, lmao. Recent ones i have watched are onimai ( I like the relationship of the siblings), odd taxi ( was quite intriguing and entertaining), Ghost in the shell (when i was able to grasp and understand what was going on it was good, it was quite dense ngl), and kill la kill (it had a lot of hype). I hope you enjoy Dandadan! I found it super funny, goofy, and sometimes even charming. It’s chaotic and fast paced, so maybe that’ll help keep your husband engaged. I totally get self-conscious recommending shows, worrying if people will like them or not. Don’t even talk to me about convincing people to get into anime, I had to watch DDD alone at the cinema because I couldn’t get anyone to come with me πππ.
I see, I'm similar to your husband, in the sense that I've been watching mainly anime in these years, so my attention span has shrunk, I have a hard time getting into live action shows cuz they are like 1 hour long π³, and i lose interest lol. But i have to watch that one, my sister liked it as well, so i might give it a try. I have heard about it, i would watch any sequel tbh, i think that world still has a lot of story to be written about. Although I haven't heard any news recently.
Nah, like I have huge respect for people who move to another country, it’s completely stepping out of your comfort zone lol, you already know the places you like to go, the gym, your dentist lol, your barber lol, etc. you get me π. I imagine the first few months would be tough with the language barrier. Like you said, trying to convey a message and having people look at you like you just spoke the most unintelligible thing ever sounds rough. But I think being immersed in a native speaking environment forces you to learn and eventually become fluent. Still, the start would be super challenging, but after a while it may turned out to be great. Same, I have cutten ties with a lot of ppl since the pandemic for some reasons. Right now I have 2 friends and I'm close to my sister as well. Tbh, if i had a partner i think i would be more inclined to moving since i wouldn't be alone.
Hope you are doing fine, are you looking forward to christmas or you dont care that much abt it?
I also saw Isekai Shikkaku, it was entertaining, i like the party members, and it was interesting to see the mc giving some sort of opportunity of redemption to the bad guys. Dont worry about hibike, just watch it when you feel like it, i just hope you like it.
I see, thats interesting to know, i do have seen that trend of americans leaving the usa, the "expats" i believed they call them.
Yeah tbh with you, i dont want to revisit the shows i watched as a kid cuz i feel like i am going to notice weird stuff, for example i used to like drake and josh, zoey 101, Ned's Declassified School Survival Guide, etc. I watched them in my youth but with everything that has been like exposed of the producer/creator, its like very weird to revisit them knowing how f-up everything behind it was. Spongebob was so episodic that i dont remember when i stopped watching but i still use the memes lol. Kinda similar with the fairy oddparents. I really liked avatar the last airbender, i love zukos journey. When i watched it back in the day, I felt that show had like 100+ episodes, i was shocked to notice it was not that long. Did you see netflix live action of it?
Thanks ( βΈβΈ´κ³`βΈβΈ). Truth be told it is easier to write than to talk, if i speak english rn i would sound so rusty lmao. I mean, i dont want to shut down the option, but moving to another country is difficult, like you are going to be completely alone at first, away from friends and family. And also you have to assimilate to the culture, etc and in some cases the cultural differences are way too big. So who knows, i think a lot of stuff in my life would have to be aligned to take it into consideration. But i do respect ppl that take that leap tho.
Hope you are doing fine, have a nice week!
Yeah I don't like hostels tbh, first bc i dont really know the ppl so it can make me anxious bc then i have to interact with people, which is not really an issue but sometimes i'm in the mood and sometimes i am not. Plus idk i watched taken and the movie hostel, so im like scarred from those movies lmao. And if i'm in another country i would like some privacy, if that makes sense. I usually prefer airbnbs and fortunately i haven't had any issues yet. Nowadays the airlines want to charge everything bruuhhhh πππ. But yeah i agree that you can save a lot of money, even just by doing a small research on the place you're traveling to. Ngl when i go the states, to embrace the american culture, i do become quite a consumer πππ.
Hahahaha tbh most of it i blame the author. It was quite noticeable at a certain point that he/she was stretching the story to absurd lengths, and unfortunately it affected the characters. I share your take, bro was fumbling with his indecisiveness, but there was one fmc which was so obnoxious for me and it was onodera, her friend kept helping her to confess to the mc, she was the girl of the promise they did when they were children, she had every chance yet her sister almost goes ahead of her, that was…something for sure.
I just finished gbc, a very good rec, it was quite entertaining, the 3D wasn't as off putting as i thought originally. Yeah i would say the singer was quite stubborn. I also feel like she had good intentions, just that she was at times very poor on conveying them, she slapped momoka π²π²π². It was interesting seeing her, very idealistic, clash with the realness of the world. Also all the subplots of the rest of the girls were interesting however i feel like there should be another season, i feel like it was pretty inconclusive. I remember when bocchi was airing, i thought it was massively overrated, so i watched it and it hooked me right in the first ep lol, i personally thought it was pretty funny, some scenes felt relatable but at least for me not to the degree bocchi was feeling it.
Arizona, I see, yeah that sounds quite a desert-like type of hot, like if i go outside without sunscreen im cooked type of hot.
Have you lived only in arizona? I don't know how normal it is for Americans to migrate from state to state.
Now that you mention Nisekoi, I think that was the second manga I ever read, and yeah, I have to agree, the story was so dragged out. I don't think I would have been able to finish it if I started it today, lol.
Yeah hibike can be a slow burn ngl, but i think the story is pretty good, if you like coming of age stories with a bit of drama. And the best part is that it is already finished, so its easier to watch rather than waiting for a new season or worse having to read it :v. Tbh i felt really satisfied with the ending, i like the direction it took, but thats just my humble opinion.
I'm going to give Girls Band Cry a chance, lol. I've seen a lot of mutuals saying good things about it, and sometimes I just need a little push to watch something, so thank you. Tbh when it was about to air, it did catch my attention, but the CGI in the trailer put me off, plus, yk, not having official subs as well. It's funny how girl band anime is growing in popularity—it's crazy how many titles I've seen like this recently.
Ohhh i see, thats sounds like such an experience, did you went with like a travel group, yk with a tour guide or without one? That sounds rough with the heat, i would imagine by night it gets a little bit cooler. I can only imagine how exhausting it has to be taking the bus, i bet they were packed af. My mom used to say, and she still says it, that when you’re traveling, you can’t treat it like a vacation since you have to walk a lot and a lot of sightseeing, etc.
thanks, im doing well, im dealing with some allergies due to the weather but i will survive lol. I see, im pretty much the same since its just part of the routine nowadays. I think i havent ask you yet, but from what part of usa are you? from a big city or a small one? I understand if you prefer not to mention it :)
Yeah, I've heard that going to Japan in the summer is rough and not highly recommended. The last thing I'd want while on vacation is to be all sweaty and sticky, lol.
I saw some news about this, that they were restricting access to some places. If I'm not mistaken, it's related to a famous geisha district in Kyoto, but I don't remember the name. There was also something about blocking the view of Mount Fuji from a nearby town. Honestly, it sounds like they're unsure about what measures to take. Even though the complaints are valid in some cases, I imagine they don’t want to stop the influx of tourists entirely, that enters the country.
It's tough. The reality is that rude people and assholes can be found anywhere in the world. Unfortunately, it's a stereotype that most people view white foreigners as Americans. I'm just glad I haven't had any major issues when visiting America. Generally, the people have been nice.
I saw some of that, it was pretty wild. I watched a video of locals spraying water at people sitting at an outdoor café or restaurant. From what I understand, people are upset about rising apartment rental prices, mostly due to Airbnb, and the lack of effective intervention from city officials. But still, they shouldn't let their frustrations on ppl that were just eating outside. On the other hand, I've had some friends who went to Barcelona and told me they didn't receive the best reception there. They’d ask for directions in Spanish, and the locals would respond in catalan and pretend not to understand.
I'm so bad at giving recs πππ, but I'll try my best, lol. I noticed you haven't watched Hibike Euphonium. I'd recommend it if you don't mind coming of age stories. Plus, it's a full adaptation, so it has a proper ending.
From the currently airing shows, Makeine: Too Many Losing Heroines! is one I'd recommend. It seems to be a romcom, i think it has a more comedic tone than a romantic one, but it's been quite entertaining. Just a heads up, it doesn’t seem like it's going to be a harem, but i cant promise anything haha since its just been like 5 eps.
I saw that you watched Girls Band Cry. How was it, in your opinion? I was interested in watching it when it aired, but the CGI and fansubs put me off. But if it's good, I might give it a try.
Ahhh and where did you go to africa since its so big, how was the heat? I would guess it was harsh and with the flies and everything but i bet it had beautiful sights.
Hope you have a nice week!
Thankfully i just had to take 1 course of calculus but i failed it like 3 times lol
thats cool, if you can find something you are passionate about and find a business idea to mix it, that would be great so you stop working for corp and big companies that really dont care about you.
Thats dope, how was your trip? where did you went? Ive been seeing the japanese has been taken some measures against overtourism, did you have troubles or were you able to check everyhting you wanted to. I would like to go to japan myself and although rn seems like the perfect chance since the yen is declining, unfortunately i dont have enough savings plus my job situation is kinda complicated. It was summer over there, right? i think i can deal with humidity since my country can get humid at times, but the cicadas over there do terrify me a lil bit lol.
Ive traveled outside, mostly to usa. 10 years ago i went with my parents to london and paris, it was cool, although my memory is kinda foggy since it happened a while ago. To usa, ive been to los angeles (3 times), new york and chicago. To chicago i went last year for lollapalooza with my sister. I would like to go back to new york in the future, and also i would like to visit other european cities/countries like barcelona, rome, greece, amsterdam.
I'm studying business administration, well im just waiting for my official graduation so I can receive my title. In the meantime, I'm taking some extra courses and applying for jobs :v
Thanks, I appreciate your kind words. I have heard it is rough to learn Spanish due to the verb conjugations. I think that Colombian Spanish or even Mexican Spanish is easier to understand since Colombians tend to speak slower, in my opinion. The only downside is that if you hear it from a YouTube video, they may use slang, and you might not be able to follow along. I mean, I don't think learning by yourself is necessarily inefficient since you are able to go at your own pace, set your schedule, etc. Plus, nowadays there are tools you can use to practice. But yeah, the best way to learn a language is to be surrounded by it, when you start thinking and dreaming in another language, lol.
I was recently taking an introductory course in Japanese, and I can relate to your dislike for the classes. Mainly due to the limited amount of time you have to process new topics, and personally, I feel anxious when I feel people staring at me while I talk, especially if it's in another language.
Yeah, to be honest, Call of the Night can get a bit weird, even more so with the detective character and her teasing, which can be too much later on. I think the author wanted to explore the meaning of love and the search for one's identity, which is why I personally think he decided to use a middle schooler. Personally, I think he could still manage to explore those themes with a high school student, to make it less wierd, but it is what it is. I liked the music βΈ(ο½‘Λ α΅ Λ )βΈ
I have been liking Nana recently. Sometimes I want to slap some of the characters, other times I empathize with them, lol. I have found it extremely slow at times, though. I have been watching it since September of last year lol, but I'm almost done.
I see. I haven't reached that point yet. It mostly depends on the series. If I'm really hooked on it and, most importantly, if I have the time, I bingewatch the f-out of that series. But with work and university, it's not that easy to bingewatch 12 episodes in a single day.
-I wouldnt call fairy tail my fav anime, but it does have a special place, since i really liked it when i watched it, i liked the comraderie bewtween the characters and their interactions. I do like erza a lot, as a character, certainly a strong female with a presence. And since the new anime is around the corner i placed her as my pfp. Call of the night can be controversial due to kous age which i think he is 14, i see what the author was trying to explore but i think he could have done the same with a 17 year old, at least to make it slightly less wierd.
-Im pretty much just finishing the seasonals, nana, school rumble and starting clannad eventually. I also need to rewatch the monogatari series but i dont have any idea when im going to start that.
How are you doing? are you watching anything good recently?
Recently I finished Erased, Little Witch Academia, the movie Re:Zero (before season 1), Toradora, Konosuba s1, Kakegurui s1 and now I want to watch Radiant. I saw season 1 a long time ago and liked it a lot, so I want to see it. And when I finish season 1 to take a little break, I'll watch either Konosuba season 2, Oshi no ko, Amagi Brillant Park, Berserk season 2 (I want to see the 97 adaptation, apparently it looks much better, even in terms of animation I prefer the 97 one and the Golden Age films to the 2016 one (After 1 season and half of the 2nd, I'm used to the animation but I don't really like it).
As a priority, I'd like to see the best-known anime at the same time as moving on to longer anime (Naruto, OP, Black Clover etc.) because they don't end as quickly as 24-episode anime.
I used to have more than 100 anime on my watching list, so I paused them all and watched them 1 by 1. Now I'm better organized, how do you manage to watch your anime?
Yes I understand, I remember when I started anime I watched season 1 of tate yuusha no narigari and even if it's not incredible I liked it. I saw that you had it in your list, what's your opinion?
