Date A Live V
add

There are little similarities between Re:Zero and Date a Live overall, but season 2 of Re:Zero and season 5 of Date a Live have some striking similarities. Satella and Mio Takamiya are quite similar in terms of the top witch/spirit in their respective verses. Then there is the Tome of Wisdom in Re:Zero and the Beelzebub in DAL, both are books that can predict certain events of the future. And then lastly, the time travel element of Kurumi's Zafkiel takes a major forefront in DAL 5 in such a crucial way that'll remind you of Re:Zero.

Summertime Render
add

Both are time travel anime where the MC has an ability to go back at a previous point in time upon dying (by any means, including suicide). In Re:Zero, this point remains fixed until Subaru has overcome the current hurdle, but in Summertime Render, this point isn't fixed. Re:Zero is a long epic fantasy story told in several episodes across multiple seasons while Summertime Render tells it's equally thrilling story in a shorter span of time. If you're a fan of suspense, you'll love both shows. They not only have great main cast of characters, but also great antagonists.

Kishuku Gakkou no Juliet
add

Both stories are parody of the play 'Romeo and Juliet'. The main couple in both stories have to hide the "true" nature of their relationship to avoid trouble between their respective factions/gangs, however in completely opposite ways. In Boarding School Juliet, the originally lovey-dovey couple has to act hostile to one another, whereas in Niskeoi, they have to act as a lovey-dovey couple despite fighting all the time (atleast in the beginning). Nisekoi has a bit more comedy while Boarding School Juliet has a bit more overarching plot. Both feature a blonde heroine.

In both anime, the MC has some past connection with a number of girls from his childhood, but he doesn't remember any detail. He reunites with all the girls after growing up (as if destiny) and slowly starts recollecting his memories of childhood. Both shows have good comedies but Kanon also has some drama and supernatural occurences.

Dandadan

Both shows deal with supernatural/occult-based phenomenon. In Bakemonogatari, there are "apparitions" and in Dandadan, there are Yokai and Aliens. Both shows have many comedic moments - most of which are dialogue-driven, but also have their fair share of serious and even emotional moments. Both shows also have a "quirky" style of animation, although Dandadan's is much better.

Ranma ½ (2024)
add

At the beginning of both the shows, the MC is forced into a relationship with a violent tsundere girl. In case of Ranma, Akane is his fiancee and in case of Raku, Chitoge is his make-believe girlfriend. Both are filled with intense comedy. Oh, and both are harem shows.

This series/movie adapt some of the best parts of their respective stories. The emotions, the tragedy, the changing of the past, all gave off a very similar vibe. Both are supernatural romance stories, by the way. Clannad: AS is deeper, but Dreaming Girl isn't something to be taken lightly either because it's very touching. Also, you should watch the predecessors to this series/movie first because these are both sequels.

Chainsaw Man
add

In both series, the MCs have merged with a non-human creature - a Parasite (later named Migi) in case of Shinichi and the Chainsaw Devil (nicknamed Pochita) in case of Denji. Both the creatures fully merged with them during a life-or-death situation. Initially, Migi had only taken over Shinichi's right hand, but at some point to save his life from a fatal injury, it merged with his heart by donating some of it's own cells. On the other hand, Denji had already died before Pochita literally BECAME his heart to resurrect him. The MCs then have to fight against other creatures of the same kind they merged with. Both series also deal with the changing emotions of the MC and their sense of humanity. Both have thrilling fight scenes with outstanding animation. One notable difference is that Shinichi can't control Migi's powers on his own and has to live in a symbiotic relationship with Migi, whereas Denji has complete control over his Chainsaws.

In both of these movies, the male protagonist gets forgotten by the world due to their inner difficulties in accepting their current state of the world. They are however remembered only by the female protagonist who tries to save them from "disappearing".
