I rate an anime solely based on the enjoyment I had from it, not on the basis of it's cultural value (In other words, not "objectively". This term is overrated anyway). Also, I don't believe that a show being "generic" automatically makes it bad.
I generally don't rate any anime below 5, and if I do, I'll most definitely be dropping them after a few episodes. It's pointless to continue watching something I'm so clearly uninterested in, it's a waste of time and eyesight.
My favourite genres are Supernatural, Fantasy, Suspense, Drama, Comedy and Romance.
I'm usually fine with watching in both Sub and Dub, but for anime centred around Drama and/or Romance, I prefer Dub (if available).
