I rate an anime solely based on the enjoyment I had from it, not on the basis of it's cultural value (In other words, not "objectively". This term is overrated anyway). Also, I don't believe that a show being "generic" automatically makes it bad.

My mean score is high because I generally don't rate any anime below 5. I'd rather drop those shows I find boring or not upto my taste than complete them just to give a terrible score. Sometimes (seldomly), I revisit dropped shows, however, if I hear from a good amount of people that it gets "really" good later on.

Genres I like - Action, Adventure, Fantasy, Supernatural, Suspense, Time Travel, Drama, Comedy and Romance.

Genres I don't like (generally, but not always) - Avant Garde, Girls Love, Boys Love.

I'm usually fine with watching in both Sub and Dub, but for anime centred around Drama, Romance or even Romantic subplot, I prefer English Dub for them (if available).
