SAO Alternative: GGO is back with its second season after an over 6 year wait. I actually just binged the first season last week, and I am now caught up to the 4 eps that are out for s2. Here are my thoughts.
Plot: Our mc is a girl named Karen Kohiruimaki. IRL, she is very self-conscious about her height as she is quite tall, so she decides to play GGO after a friend recommends it to her. She models her new in game avatar to be the "pink devil" LLENNN, a small but ruthless girl who guns down her enemies without hesitation. Eventually, she ends
...
up meeting a woman named Pitohui, a sniper who has a lot of experience in GGO, and she ends up teaming with her in "Squad Jam" a team based battle royale. This was s1 more or less.
S2 starts off strong as we get thrown back immediately into the action, with bullets flying everywhere and chaos ensuing. We are now currently in the third squad jam, and in terms of the story, s2 is already more interesting than s1, with many twists and turns being thrown at every corner to keep the viewer on the edge of their seat. Personally, I never thought that the plot was the strong part of sao, but its actually good in this one.
Characters: The cast is quite enjoyable, and unlike the regular SAO series, most of the characters are actually likeable. LLENN is adorable yet strong, Pitohui is badass and hot, Miyu is energetic and has a fun personality, and M is a complete gigachad. Overall, I much prefer the cast of alternative over regular sao.
Story and characters: 7.5/10
Music: The music in this series is really solid. It keeps you locked into the intense atmosphere and engaged for every second, the placement of insert songs is well done.
Music: 8/10
Animation: While the animation is not S tier by any means, its certainly well above average. S1 already looked quite good, but with A1 pictures taking over s2, you can definitely tell that the animation leveled up. The shots are really clean and sao has always had good animation so this isn't really surprising to me.
Animation: 8/10
OP and ED:
The op by ReoNa is an absolute banger, and I've been looping it on spotify recently because it's just that good. Seriously, give it a listen. The visuals are also immaculate. The ed is alright. Not bad, but certainly a step down from the op.
OP score: 8/10
ED score: 6/10
Voice Acting: The voice acting in this show remains high quality. The entire cast did a solid job on this, and big names such as
Kusunoki Tomori, Hikasa Youko, and Akasaki Chinatsu means that the voice performances will be good.
Voice acting: 7.5/10
Overall, while I understand people's hesitation's of getting into a new SAO, trust me this one is worth it. I already preferred season 1 of SAO Alternative more than season 1 of regular SAO, and season 2 of SAO Alternative continues to do everything that season 1 did well, as well as improve upon the aspects that weren't so good. If you enjoyed season 1 of SAO Alternative even a little bit, I think you should definitely check out season 2, as you will be pleasantly surprised.
Overall score: 7.5/10

Dandadan is the new and hot shonen series this season. You might take a look at the high ratings it has gotten and ask yourself “does this show deserve the hype?”.
The short answer: yes, it does.
The long answer: First off, let’s talk about the premise behind the series (this synopsis will cover ep 1 only). Dandadan revolves around our main duo, Momo Ayase, an outgoing and energetic teenage girl, and Ken Takakura, a timid teenage boy otaku. The show starts off with Momo getting dumped by her bf, and quickly after we get to see Momo moping and venting to her friends about
...
this. In the same class, Ken is reading some book about UFOs and aliens while bullies are throwing paper balls at him. This goes on for a bit until Momo intervenes and steps up for him. She then asks him what he’s reading to which he starts nerding out on her. This pushes her away and causes her to say stuff like “this is why you don’t have any friends.” Momo quickly apologizes and reveals that she believes in ghosts as her grandma is a spirit medium. Ken then proceeds to make fun of her, and she challenges him. They both agree to go to “hotspots” for aliens and ghosts respectively. A lot of wild shit ensues, and they both now believe in what they thought was made up nonsense, as they had some interesting encounters with these beings. Sounds insane, right? All of this happens in the first ep, and its a great way to introduce us to our main duo as well as this wacky world.
The story of dandadan has many crazy twists and turns that will keep you on the edge of your seat. Admittedly, I am a manga reader, and I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t at all jealous of anime only for experiencing this wild ride for the first time with no prior knowledge (don’t get me wrong, the manga is very good too, but based on the first 3 eps alone, I have a feeling this adaptation will surpass the source material). The characters are also very likable and have great personalities. At the beginning of ep 1, some people might think momo is a “typical popular girl”, but you find out fast that she cares a lot about her friends and family and always puts them first. The same can be said for Ken Takakura, a lot of folks might think he is a “typical loner otaku” but by the end of ep 1 you can see that his #1 priority is protecting momo, and he can come in clutch when it matters most. Aira and Jin haven’t been introduced in the anime yet, but they’re both great side characters. And don’t even get me started on Seiko, she’s awesome. Now, I don’t think the story of dandadan is perfect. It has some flaws. As I mentioned earlier, a lot of this series is extremely random and relies on “shocking” or “surprising” you with plot twists. I found this to be somewhat reminiscent of Chainsaw Man’s unpredictable storytelling, and the overall vibes of these two series are quite similar (both are very fun and horny shonen). This makes sense as the creator of dandadan, Yukinobu Tatsu was a former assistant of Tatsuki Fujimoto (mangaka of CSM). I guess assitatnts of Fujimoto always put out bangers as Yuuji Kaku (creator of Hell's Paradise) was also an assistant of his. I will also say that I think the strongest parts of dandadan are the earlier arcs (for the most part). There are some arcs that can be a slog to get through (like the danmara arc for example). This won’t be covered until like season 4 of the anime though so it won’t affect my rating. Overall, the story is very creative and unique, unlike many other shonen series. It makes you feel a wide variety of emotions, from disgust, to excitement, to sadness, and more.
Story/Characters Score: 8/10
The animation is top tier, Science Saru were the perfect studio to adapt this series. As I mentioned, dandadan is very weird (in a good way) and Science Saru have previously been known to be a very “weird” studio, experimenting with many different types of color palettes and art styles in their works. All in all, the animation is incredible, it brings the already high quality manga art to life even more.
Animation Score: 9.5/10
OST: The OST in this show is really good, and that’s not surprising because Kensuke Ushio is the one working on it. He has done the scores of many well loved anime such as: A SIlent Voice, Devilman Crybaby, Chainsaw Man, Ping Pong the Animation, Heavenly Delusion, The Dangers in my heart, and more.
OST Score: 8.5/10
Voice Acting:
The Voice Acting in this show is top notch, with big names being in the cast like Hanae Natsuki, Sakura Ayane, Mizuki Nana, Ishikawa Kaito, and more. Overall, they have delivered very compelling performances that bring the characters to life.
Voice Acting Score: 8.5/10
OP/ED: The opening sequence is out of this world. The visuals are beautiful and every frame is wallpaper material. The song is an absolute vibe, Creepy Nuts literally don’t miss. The ED by Zutomayo is also quite good, safe to say they cooked here.
OP score: 9.5/10
ED score: 8/10
Overall, I think dandadan is a very good and enjoyable new shonen series for people to check out. I wouldn’t quite label it as a modern masterpiece, but it's certainly a lot of fun to just buckle up and enjoy the insane roller coaster that is this show.

Story: "Ao no Hako" aka "Blue Box" is one of the more popular romance manga currently releasing, and definitely one of the best ones imo. It focuses on our main duo, Taiki Inomata, a first year badminton player and Chinatsu Kano, a second year basketball player. "After an unexpected turn of events brings the two closer together, sports might not be the first thing on their minds anymore!" This series balances the sports aspect and romance aspect really well, as we get to see the characters focus on becoming the best versions of themselves through hard work and dedication, but we also see hints of
...
possible romantic developments (which will be explored later on). The basic premise of Blue Box is pretty simple all things considered, and even though some may argue that it's "generic", it's an extremely well executed vanillia romance story with some good sports action thrown in here and there.
Story: 8/10
Animation: They really outdid themselves with this one, the animation is nothing short of stellar. I already had high hopes since reading the manga, as the artwork is quite detailed there. Then they dropped a few trailers which looked phenomenal, and after watching the first 3 episodes, I can safely say that this adaptation is in safe hands, and a big reason for that is due to the high quality and fluid animation. There was a few cg shots, mainly in the first ep, but they were not jarring and did not detract from my viewing experience at all
Animation: 9/10
Music: The music in this show is really good. The op "Same Blue" by Official HIGE DANdism really fits the vibe of the show well and the ed 'Teenage Blue" by Eve is just as good, if not better. The OST is solid as well.
Music: 8/10
Voice Acting: The entire cast sounds great. Reina Ueda as Chinatsu and Akari Kito as Hina were excellent picks as they bring a lot of personality to the characters and their voices match perfectly. At first I wasn't sure how to feel about Shouya Chiba as Taiki but his energy fits him well and really makes his character that much more likeable
Voice Acting: 9/10
Overall, Blue Box is a high quality romance series that you should absolutely watch, and while I do think the later seasons will be better as the plot progresses and more interesting developments occur, the anime is off to a great start and this adaptation is 100% worth checking out, whether you're an anime only or a manga reader like myself.

After a grueling 4 year wait, Re:Zero is finally back. Some people may be asking the question "was it worth it to wait this long for a new season?" I can comfortably say: yes, absolutely. Basically, if you're a fan of Re:Zero, season 3 is an absolute must watch.
It's Re:Zero, and if you're reading this you've most likely watched the first 2 seasons already, so you know the deal. We're getting more Subaru suffering, more screentime for Otto, Garfirel, Crusch, and the rest of the amazing cast. The first episode being 1 hour 30 min long was a great decision as it allowed for some
...
more exposition, as well as starting off the season with a strong cliffhanger at the end. As we've seen with s2 p2, Re:Zero tends to shine with character development (notably for Emilia, Garfiel, Otto, Ram, Roswaal, and Beatrice), dynamics and worldbuilding and this season has plenty of that and more. I would say that the story/characters is definitely a strong suit of Re:Zero, and this season is proving to surpass every previous season in that aspect.
Story/Characters score: 9.5/10
In terms of the pacing, it's been great. Re:Zero has quite a large cast of characters, yet it never felt like you're being overwhelmed with too many at once. The rate at which they introduce the archbishops has been well done, as they spend at least several eps on one before moving to another.
The animation has also been stellar. White Fox are a great studio with an extremely consistent track record, and I'm very glad they decided to take their time and not rush this one, because I truly believe Re:Zero deserves the best adaptation it can get, based on what I've seen so far (and what I've heard about upcoming arcs).
Animation score: 9.5/10
Aditionally, Re:Zero has an excellent OST. It does a great job at setting the atmosphere of the show and really immersing you into the world.
OST score: 9/10
The voice acting in Re:Zero has always been incredible. When you have Rie Takahashi, Yuusuke Kobayashi, Yui Horie, Takehito Koyasu, Akira Ishida, and more in one show, it makes sense that the voice acting will be top tier.
Voice Acting score: 9/10
OP/ED: Honestly, probably the weakest op and ed so far. They're still good, but imo Konomi Suzuki and M&R have better songs in Re:Zero alone (not to mention other shows). For me this is the weakest part of s3, but its also arguably the least important, so take it however you want to.
OP score: 7.5/10
ED score: 8/10
Overall, I think this season of Re:Zero is off to a very strong start. If the rest of this season continues to be an S tier adaptation, and if Arc 6 lives up to the hype that LN readers have built, then I believe we may be witnessing a masterpiece unfold right in front of our eyes.
Overall Score: 8.75/10 (~9/10)

Sorry to burst everyone's bubble, but Garden of Sinners (aka Kara no Kyoukai) movie 4: The Hollow Shrine is not that good! In fact, if you take away the gorgeous animation, artwork, and music, its actually a pretty bad movie!
Spoilers ahead
Up until now I have been enjoying the Garden of Sinners anime quite a fair bit. Although not on the level of Nasu's other works (Fate and Tsukihime in particular) it still remains an enjoyable watch. Yet, I can confidently say that this movie was an absolute slog to get through, despite only being 46 minutes long. I also feel confident in saying that if
...
Garden of Sinners did not have top tier production values, I'd easily rate this movie below a 5.
Let me explain my reasons why.
So basically in this movie Shiki has been in a coma for 2 years, and it is diving more into her backstory. Cool right? More Shiki = great! Well yes, but actually no. While I was looking forward to seeing Shiki's backstory being explored, this movie handled it in the worst way possible. They could have showed us more of her upbringing, her relationships with other cast members, maybe revealed a power or secret that she had been hiding from us all along. But this entire movie is just pretentious anime bullshit times 1000. Instead of the usual badass Shiki that we got in the first 3 movies, this time around we get a depressed bitch who constantly flip flops between wanting to live and die, leaving the viewer with a miserable watching experience. Some random fuck jumps at you out of nowhere and begins to strangle you. What do you do? Well I'd assume most people would at least try and fight back, maybe start punching and kicking, throw objects or grab a potential weapon and utilize it. What I can fucking guarantee you is that pretty much nobody is going to lie there and begin pondering the meaning of existence. "What is the meaning of life?" "What purpose does my life actually have?" "For what reason were we brought into this world?" "Why should I keep on living?" "Is death as bad as it seems?" "Life is so hard and death is so easy." "Why was I even born?" are all questions that are completely and utterly meaningless as you only get one shot at life. Once you're dead, that's it. Your time's up. Game over. Lights off. The time is now, and if you aren't living in the present you will just waste your life away whether you like it or not. But yeah, Shiki literally just sat that for minutes on end like a dead fish out of water, spouting all that existential, philosophical crap (in her mind) trying to make it sounds "deep" and "mature" when in reality she's just making herself look like a big fat clown.
Now, Garden of Sinners is a franchise that is praised heavily by elitists. "It's peak fiction" they said. "Shiki is top 1 fictional female" they said. "Kara no Kyoukai = best Nasu work." they said. Well I'm here to tell you that those are all a bunch of lies. Granted, I just finished watching this film, so I can't speak on movies 5-8. Maybe they are much better and will solve my problems that I have with this franchise.
I do enjoy the mystery elements of Kara no Kyoukai. Which is why this movie felt like a massive gut punch because it pretty much answered none of the pre-established mysteries, left us with more, and just was kinda an overall waste of time.
There were some good moments in the film like when Shiki "killed her other self" with the knife. And look, I'm not trying to sit here and tell you that Kara no Kyoukai has a complete garbage story, because it doesn't. It actually has very interesting themes and presents them in a unique way. The problems lie within the execution. For example, it seems that Nasu loves using negative things such as r*pe and death to drive home points (this happens more in movie 3). I'm not going to dive into that right now, but I'm glad he toned that shit down in Fate because it can be insanely edgy at times, and the only reason I can think of it being there is for pure shock factor, which doesn't work after you've experience enough media.
And, I know people are going to hate me for this, but I gotta say. If I wanted a "deep" and "complex" story, I would just read Ulysses, Crime and Punishment, How to Kill a Mockingbird, etc etc. Those would have a lot more to offer in terms of compelling narratives than watching a depressed anime girl go between wanting to die versus not wanting to die. Instead of making a quick decision that would satisfy us we are forced to watch her lie in bed like a dead moth just because she doesn't have the balls (literally and figuratively) to off herself.
Again. Only reason I'm giving it a 6 is because it has beautiful animation (credit to ufotable) and amazing music (credit to Kalafina and Yuki Kaijura). If these aspects were nothing short of stellar, I probably would have given this a 3 and dropped the franchise as a whole.

Spriggan is a strange series. I quite enjoyed the 2022 ONA, in fact I'd even call it a good anime. However, I thought the manga was just decent, aka "fine". Why? Let me explain. What made Spriggan good to me was the great music, fluid animation and good use of cgi, as well as solid voice acting. These aspects alone were enough to make it a "good" anime for that. The story, while passable, was never anything to write home about.
Story: There's some politics and other countries get involved, but it all boils down to "MC fights other powerful people and flexes on them".
...
Basically hundreds of years ago some ancient civilization ruled Earth and left behind artifacts/relics. Generations later, organizations are on a large treasure hunt to try and retrieve these long lost relics. However, a corporation, ARCAM, is using advanced machines to prevent these 3rd parties from destroying everything around them in the process. They use "Spriggans", which are advanced agents who have special training and abilities. And our MC, Yu is one of them. You've probably heard other series sound very similar to this. Any ring a bell? That's right. This is basically manga Indiana Jones but less fun and with more politics. While not absolutely terrible, the story leaves a lot to be desired as it does not engage the reader whatsoever.
Score: 5/10
Characters: A lot of what I said in the "story" section could be applied to the "characters" section. The vast majority of the cast are uninteresting, unappealing, bland and overall boring. Our main character Yu has about as much personality as cardboard. He is no different from your typical action manga MC, and the running gag with him is that he's not sure if he's able to graduate because he skips 80% of days at school while trying to save the world (spoilers: he ends up graduating anyways because of course he fucking would). Aside from him, the supporting cast is pretty weak. Oboro was a character that existed, and Jean had some sort of appeal, but I didn't find myself getting attached to any of them. The best character in the series is probably Yoshino, but she suffers from a lack of focus/shine. If she had more relevance, Spriggan could have been elevated and been an overall better manga.
Score: 5/10
Art: By far the best part of the manga. Spriggan has good, detailed art. The background art is nicely drawn and the fights are fluid and clean. You can feel every blow being exchanged, and the characters facial expression are well emphasized through this. I still prefer the anime fights, but the manga has good fights too and overall I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the artwork.
Score: 7/10
Overall, if you're looking for a decent action manga with some politics, you can try this one out. If you're not interested in that, you can skip this one and you won't really be missing anything as there are a lot of better manga out there. If you're not sure whether to watch or read spriggan, my advice is to watch the 2022 ONA as its faster and has more to offer IMO.

Kaiju no. 8 was by far the most anticipated new anime of Spring 2024. So, did it live up to the hype? After having watched the first 3 eps, I'd say: Yeah, it did.
The first 3 episodes of Kaiju no. 8 haven't blown me out of the water, but they certainly have not disappointed me. So for that reason alone, I think this show deserves your attention.
Here's the premise: Japan has the highest amount of Kaiju appear in the world. The Kaiju neutralization force has been tasked with the objective of eliminating all the kaiju. Our MC, Kafka Hibino is a cleanup man, having to
...
do all the dirty work after all of the flashy action is over. He's always dreamed of joining the force, and now just when he gets an opportunity to do so, he ends up turning into a Kaiju himself!
The premise and motivations are fairly standard for a battle shonen. Our MC wants to reunite with his childhood friend and look good in front of her. Even so, I believe the execution is there, and that's what matters.
Animation: The animation is very solid and clean on this show. Production IG are a great studio, they've personally done some of my favorite anime in Psycho Pass season 1 as well as the more recent Heavenly Delusion, which just released last year (and also had excellent animation). As soon as I saw Production IG's name attached to this project, I knew the animation was going to be handled well. Additionally, the fight scenes in the show are quite smooth. The Kaiju are fully 2D, which makes for an enjoyable viewing experience.
Overall score: 8/10
Characters: I enjoy the cast of Kaiju no. 8 a lot. Kafka Hibino isn't your typical shonen protagonist, as he's in his 30's (so oldies will be able to relate to him easier), and I appreciate that they went that route as it's unique in that regard. Ichikawa is enjoyable to watch and Kikoru, while not my favorite right now, has a lot of potential moving forward and it looks like they are setting up for devlopment beyond just your "typical tsundere". I also like Mina and she appears cold on the outside but actually deeply cares for Kafka on the inside.
Overall score: 8/10
Sound: The sound in this anime is honestly excellent. The sound effects in the fight scenes are on point and visceral, you feel every blow, every attack, every gunshot. Additionally, the top notch voice acting really elevates one's viewing experience. Kafka and Ichikawa's VA's don't appear to have too many high profile roles, but they have been doing a great job so far, and Kikoru and Mina are voiced by Fariouz Ai and Asami Seto respectively, which are 2 extremely talented VA's. I think the sound is probably the strongest aspect of the show.
Overall score: 9/10
OP and ED: Definitely the weakest part of the show, but to many, it's the least important. I knew this subject would be controversial the second they announced that western artists would be performing the intro and outro theme of Kaiju no. 8. "Oh no, how dare the westerners touch my precious Japanese animation." was a lot of people's gut reaction. However, after having sat down and listened to the op and ed of kaiju numerious times, I actually like them both. The op is quite serious, giving a vibe of "impending doom". Tho I will say the CGI in it is wack, idk what they were on while making those visuals. As for the ed, its very upbeat and happy go lucky. It doesn't perfectly fit the vibe of Kaiju no. 8, but that doesn't matter, because it's still a good song regardless. The visuals, while simple, go well with the song and are unique for an ed.
OP score: 8/10
ED score: 7/10
Overall score: 7.5/10
All in all, I think Kaiju no. 8 is a very entertaining show that appeals to a wide audience. I feel like it's going to be the "dumb battle shonen with good production values" of the season. If you're looking for the most intricate and complex of storylines, Kaiju no. 8 may not be for you. If you want to have a fun time watching some killer Kaiju action, then Kaiju no. 8 is definitely for you.

What would happen if you took spy x family, made it 100 times more unhinged, and had a much larger and more quirky cast of characters for the family?
That's Yozakura family.
This one is an interesting one for me. I remember having a conversation with one of my friends a few years back and I asked him "what's a manga you would like to see get an anime adaptation?" and he replied with Yozakura Family. So, fast forward to Spring 2024, when I saw that this was getting an anime it immediately went on my radar and my curiosity was naturally piqued.
Taiyo Asano is a shy
...
high school student and the only person he can talk to is his chilhood friend, Mutsumi Yozakura. However, we quickly find out that Mutsumi is the daughter of a spy family. And, to top it all off, she is being harassed by her overprotective brother, Kyoichirou. What measures will Taiyo take to save Mutsumi?
Characters: For a show that has a large main cast (8) of characters, I really only like maybe 2 of them. This is a shame, because I can tell that it is a very character driven show, but I feel like introducing such a massive cast early on may not have been the best, as this makes it very difficult for me to get fully invested in them. Taiyo is a typical shonen MC, Mutsumi is your typical damsel in distress, Kyoichiro is an actual siscon (I know he's like that for the sake of the family, and I head he gets better later on, but so far, he isn't great), one dude spends all his time inside a trash can, you have a typical troublemaker and a gentle giant character. Really the only ones I like are Shion and Futaba, because they seem calm, cool and collected but also have playful sides to them. Again, I'm not saying the characters are bad. I'm sure I'll grow to love them over time. But for now, most of them have not impressed me
Score: 6/10
Animation: The animation on this show is decent. Silver Link are by no means the cream of the crop when it comes to anime studios, and considering this is primarly an action comedy manga, it will have a lot of fight scenes. I can't call the animation great, but it gets the job done.
Score: 7/10
Sound: The sound in this anime is very good. Not only are the SFX great in the fight scenes, you can feel the hits and blows and they don't shy away from showing you everything. Additionally, the voice acting in this show is very good. The VA cast is stacked, with big names such as Akari Kitou, Aoi Yuuki, Katsuyuki Konishi, Yoshitsugu Matsuoka and Yumi Uchiyama. Overall I am very pleased with this aspect of the show.
Score: 8/10
OP and ED:
I'll be honest, the OP isn't good. It's easily the worst Ikimonogakari song I've heard in a very long time, and the visuals aren't all that special either.
As for the ED, I prefer it over the OP. It has a playful and energetic vibe, which fits well with the show, and again, the visuals aren't super impressive, but because it's an ED, I'm more willing to let it slide.
OP score: 5.5/10
ED score: 7/10
Overall OP and ED score: 6/10
Overall, I think Yozakura Family is a fun show that deserves your attention. Personally, I don't believe it is a contender for best anime of the season, but it's still an entertaining watch regardless.

Go Go Loser Ranger (also known as Ranger Reject) is basically Super Sentai meets The Boys. It's very unique for its genre and the first 3 episodes have been very entertaining so far. Keep in mind I have not read the manga for this, so I have no idea what's to come.
Basically, the "monsters" started invading earth 13 years ago and the Divine Dragon Keepers need to put an end to them. Eventually, the monsters got handled and they were forced to bring out one per week so that the Dragon Keepers could defeat them in front of a large crowd. One monster (our MC)
...
is sick and tired of putting up with this charade, so he decides that he will take down the Dragon Keepers from the inside. This is the premise.
I find this concept to be quite interesting as the audience has no idea what's going on, and as the monsters have had to put up with this farce for over a decade, it would make sense that some of them would be tired of it and would want to rebel against their opressors.
Characters: The cast of Go Go Loser Ranger is quite enjoyable. Seeing the perspective of the "bad guy" for once and actually rooting for the villain (MC) to win is a lot of fun, because before I watched the show, I thought the MCs would be the Dragon Keepers, however they are simply supporting characters. Additionally, Yumeko Suzukiri and Hibiki Sakurama are enjoyable characters, even though we don't know much about them yet. Their dynamics and interactions with the MC are a lot of fun, and you call already tell they are multi-layered characters.
Score: 9/10
Sound: The sound in this anime is great, From the insert songs mid fight, to the sound effects and voice acting, Go Go Loser Ranger! has really gotten this right. The VA cast is quite stacked too. Yuusuke Kobayashi is voicing Fighter D, Yuuichi Nakamura voices Red Keeper, Kensho Ono voices Yellow Keeper, and Kousuke Toriumi voices Green Keeper.
Score: 9/10
Animation: The animation on this show is very good. Yostar pictures are a studio known for doing gacha-game adaptations, so when I saw them on a big project like this one, where the manga is very beloved and well known, I was a little skeptical. However, once I saw the trailer as well as ep 1, my concerns were immedietaly lifted. The animation is fluid and crisp. Character art is great. There is actually some cgi used here and there, but it's blended very well with 2D and is barely noticeable imo.
Score: 8/10
OP and ED:
Probably the weakest (and arguably least important) part of the show. The op is performed by Tatsuya Kitani, and while it certainly isn't his best work, it's not bad by any means. The visuals are fun and the song is upbeat. I'll probably start skipping it from this point on, but it fits the vibe of the show well.
The ED is pretty catchy, but not really my type of song. The visuals on it are fully cgi and it looks a little jank at times but nothing terrible.
OP score: 7/10
ED score: 5.5/10
Overall OP and ED Score: 6/10
Overall, Go Go Loser Ranger! is a very entertaining show with a unique and fresh take on the Super Sentai genre. It's also a very easy show to recommend to others as it appeals to a wider audience and anyone can have a fun time watching it.

NOTE: This review is purely for the first 3 eps of The Fable anime. I have not read the manga or watched the live action adaptation, so I won't be referencing those in this.
The Fable is an interesting anime. Here's the premise: Satou Akira, our main protagonist, is known as the infamous genius "Fable". A lot of things are easy for him, but being a normal member of society isn't. He has been given a special mission: not to kill anyone for a long period of time. Believe it or not, this may be the toughest mission he has yet to take on.
The Fable reminds
...
me of a more serious version of Way of the Househusband. The MC is a badass Yakuza member, who is often oblivious to his own surroundings, and has to work with others in order not to blow his cover. Just like Househusband, Fable has very good comedy imo. It's one thing to write good comedy on paper, but delivery is just as, if not, more important imo. Saying a dumb joke with a deadpan voice might illicit a completely different reaction than if u were to say it with a cheery voice.
Characters: I enjoy the cast of The Fable a lot. Akira is a very enjoyable main character, he has that "dead inside" vibe which I tend to like with these types of shows. He's clearly tired of life, constantly making jokes about how others will outlive him and such, so he's trying to find different things to look forward to, even if it's the stupidest shit (like a certain third rate comedian that he loves). Youko Satou is also enjoyable to watch. She is disguising as Fable's sister and her lines are funny too, the main thing she is looking forward to is "a good man".
Score: 9/10
Sound: The sound in this show is very good. From the SFX to the voice acting, they have nailed this aspect down to the tee. The fights feel real and have stakes, you can feel every hit and punch. As I mentioned, the voice acting is also top tier. The cast of VA's is stacked, seeing as there are big names such as Miyuki Sawashiro, Akio Ootsuka, and Kana Hanazawa. Additionally, the chemistry between Miyuki Sawashiro (Youko) and Kazuyuki Okitsu (Akira) is very natural and smooth. Their character interactions are dynamic, quirky, and overall engaging.
Score: 10/10
Animation: I saw a lot of people complaining about this, saying that "Tezuka production ruined another great manga... blah blah blah". Look, I don't think the animation is S tier, but it's certainly not bad. In fact, it's pretty good. Even though this is the weakest part of the show, the fights still look fluid and are well composed and choreographed. The character art could be a little better, but even so, I ain't complaining.
Score: 7/10
OP and ED: I love the op, ALI once again delivered. Visuals aren't anything out of this world, as it mainly consists of still shots of the various characters, but the song is an absolute vibe, so for that reason alone I enjoy the opening theme a lot.
The ending however leaves a lot to be desired. Not only is the song really bad (it's shitty autotune rap) but the visuals don't stand out as they just roll credits and have slideshow visuals. You can definitely skip the ED and u won't be missing out on anything.
Opening Score: 9/10
Ending Score 3/10
Combined Score: 6/10
Overall, I believe that The Fable is a very enjoyable show that anyone can enjoy. It has an excellent cast of characters, good comedy, fights, serious moments, sound design, and an overall interesting and gripping atmosphere and plot.
