To avoid going off-topic, I decided to answer you directly in regards to Black Hawk Down respectively the real events. It was part of an UN mission to restore order in Somalia. After the warlord Aidid's militia attacked peacekeepers, a manhunt was decided. The department of defense denied the US commander the deployment of armored vehicles and tanks If I remember correctly. They underestimated the reaction time and resistance of the militia. In the end, 18 US soldiers died and almost 100 were injured with dozens stranded in Mogadishu. They had to be bailed out by Malaysian and Pakistani UN forces. Not only did they fail to capture Aidid it also subsequently led to the failure of the UN mission in general.

The movie obviously changed and embellished some parts, it's not a documentary. But it overall doesn't avoid showcasing the mistakes that were made.

Aidid was killed several years later during a conflict with a rival warlord though.

Bro no way you have 1,000+ anime watched despite being 18... How did you do it man

that's a good question! I think that all three are terrific but I'd have to say Higurashi because it elicited the most emotional response of the three for me. I also think that the anime is perfection (along with the VN and manga) so it ticks every box. I haven't actually played any of the Corpse Party games yet but I'm planning to soon, I like what I've seen of the franchise so far!

Thanks for the add, it's nice to meet another fan of Higurashi, Corpse Party and Elfen Lied

Shueider Mar 3, 3:30 PM
Yes, I was a little surprised at how easily she was killed, but Usagi was very strong, I really liked the relationship between the tiger and Ushii
Shueider Mar 2, 2:33 PM
Juuni Taisen was crazy and random, but I liked the anime, I watched it very quickly

Oh yeah I've had Jisatsutou on hold for a while now. Personally I think the author handles suicide and self-harm better in Holyland but Jisatsutou isn't bad at all. Both the main characters are pretty similar as well. It's been years since I've read Shamo but at the time I really enjoyed it. Hopefully it hasn't aged terribly lol.

I haven't heard of Schwarzesmarken but looking it up, there are huge visual similarities, I can see the comparison lol. The rape scenes in Muramasa can be pretty brutal sometimes, some of them involve torture as well. But they all tie into the plot and theme of the story. Just a fair warning.

A few months ago, I was really into the few visual novels I played (Zero Escape, Raging Loop, I played some of Umineko too) and when I was searching for more, Muramasa kept popping up. It was very highly rated and every site that I went to had it as one of the best VNs of all time. The character designs were nice so I thought I'd try it. If you end up playing it, I hope you enjoy but I'd definitely recommend trying Danganronpa first or maybe even Raging Loop.

Ah, I get that. It's an aspect I enjoy a few times as well. Death game styled anime and manga were my favorite for years and they tend to have those traits. You ever read Wolf Guy, Holyland, or Shamo? They all kind of show the scum of society and of people and display that sense of hopelessness. I don't think anything can compete with Metamorphosis though lmao.

Understanding what you like, I think you would enjoy Full Metal Daemon Muramasa, it has pretty much that. I don't want to spoil anything about the plot since every little thing leads to something else but thematically it has mechas and shogunates, with a good amount of politics. I'm playing the uncensored version and it's pretty dark. It has a few rape scenes but I don't think that bothers you lol. I love the art style though. Check it out and see if it interests you.

I haven't heard of those, I'll definitely check them out. What would you say is the selling point or your favorite aspect about anime like those? I've noticed that it's the type that you gravitate towards, and a lot of them I enjoy too. The last that I watched/read that was similar was Shuumatsu no Tenki, which I thought was great. Otherwise, I haven't watched nearly enough lol.

I'm one of the few that hasn't read the Solo Leveling manhwa so I'm going in dark. It has a ton of hype so hopefully I get hooked in the 12 episodes. And for me, nothing has really caught my attention so not I'm watching anything too interesting. I've been getting into visual novels and playing Danganronpa and Full Metal Daemon Muramasa.
