Story and character wise, time of eve is better, but the music and art are far better in plastic memories. Both have to do with a society where androids are a common thing, and all types of people have them. Plastic memories however, has a timetable on androids, they have a lifespan where when their time is up, they start to stop working and lose memories and functions, which isn't relevant in Time of Eve. Plastic Memories is more of a romance, with a less dark tone, and doesn't have a lot of character development compared to Time of Eve, plastic memories focuses more on romance, and time of eve focuses more on relationships between androids and people. In plastic memories the majority of people have an adoration for androids, and people falling in love with them isn't as uncommon as you'd think, meanwhile in Time of Eve, the minority of people have an adoration for androids and are looked down upon by the general public.

Similar plot device for time travel, small little sphere object, both have stunning visuals, although the art seems more original for toki wo kakeru shoujo because Uchiage Hanabi, Shita kara Miru ka? Yoko kara Miru ka? is super similar to the monogatari series, even for the studio being the same, the main characters are almost the exact same of the monogatari series. The Girl Who Leapt Through time did much better at executing the time travel and romance aspect, the romance between Nazuna and Norimichi basically consists of them falling in love in literally 1 day, and the romance between makoto and chiaki is very wholesome, they've known one another longer and makoto tries to deny chiaki and uses time travel for that, meanwhile norimichi uses it to keep trying to be with nazuna. Overall though the resemblance is there, however, the Girl Who Leap Through time is far better.

Both are dramas, romance, and sad. Both have compelling stories and great character development. Your Lie In April is far better, the only big difference is that Your Lie in April is very music oriented, but that's about it.
