In both anime the MCs are overpowered, but more importantly – extremely edgy.

Both anime take place in a post-apocalyptic world where the humanity is cornered and is paying a dear price to survive. Both anime have this certain degree of epicness to them. Both anime include fighting with awkward, odious monsters. And, most importantly, both anime feature an MC who’s a hot-headed idiot.

Both are set in a world where many things (if not everything) are decided through games. Both anime have a main guy who’s kinda op and a bunch of girls surrounding him who are kinda useless (that changes in S2 though). Both have this concept of “God” (here it’s called “King”) who will make your wish come true if you defeat him.

Both shows have a female mc, who’s a sigma gigachad, and yet somehow manages to be a loving person, and a pussy male mc, who’s always hiding under the heroine’s skirt, figuratively speaking.

A similar female mc, who’s kind, romantic and proactive; a similar male mc, who’s shy, boring, unspectacular and slightly annoying; both are slow-paced to the point you start wondering why did this get 12-13 episodes when the entire story could easily fit into 2 episodes; actually both are pretty fire for watching in the background (even better if you know Japanese, because it’s kinda soothing). And, most importantly, in both shows nothing happens… like, at all…

Both shows have a similar main character who is sloppy and sluggish, and yet chersihed by the people surrounding them, revolve around the theme of partaking in club activities to make friends and deepen your emotinal bonds with them. And, since the two anime are basically of the same genre, they have a very similar amtosphere, as well as a set of cliched events, such as characters who are grumpy and perverse at first but get mellower and mellower as the story progresses, a beach episode, that typical subplot when all the combined efforts of the club members end in vain (making them be at the verge of giving up) but the POWER OF FRIENDSHIP (trademark) keeps them together and helps them overcome the difficulties and move forward. It's nothing really new if you're a veteran of the Slice of Life genre, except for the fact that this time around the story revolves around DIY.

Both animes are about wars, both of them have the fate of the humanity at stake, in both of them the main heroes are forced to obey to the HQ consisting entirely of sketchy swindlers whose objective is very different from what they declare publicly, and, finally, both animes touch upon the topic of mutual trust among the comrades for the sake of amplifying the squad's efficiency and increasing the chances to survive in a bloodshed.

The vibe of the narrative is kind of similar, especially if we look at it from the point of "mysteriousness" of the main heroine.
