A guy, a vehicle, a journey. So similar yet so different. What I find interesting is that the shows represent not so different protagonist, they are both pretty distant initially and they don't let the environment around influence them too much. For some reason tho, even if they react very differently to things that happen during their journey, when I think about what I remember about those series, I get a similar feeling. I think this is due to the fact that they act very differently, their story is different and the feeling they and the emotions they experience are different. But as I viewer I was not them. I surely got attach to them, but I was watching their story and I got to experience their journey in a different way they did. I saw, in both cases, interesting places, colourful designs, interesting characters and cultures.

On one hand, we have a pretty red-haired girl, a princess who seems pretty happy about her life as it is. Yeah, not even her can have everything that she wants, but she still hopes she will eventually succeed and marry the guy she loves. On the other, we have a guy, also red-haired, if that matters. He has a great passion but can't really be who he is with his family, so his life does not seem as satisfying. For very different reasons, they both go on a journey, which will allow them to know a lot of friendly and not so friendly people. As you follow their ups and downs, you will see that what really matters it's not really the goal the protagonist initially set for themself. For both of them I think the real gain they get from their journey is, other than the friends they make along the way, what, by knowing more people and culture, places, they are able to become. In the beginning, their story felt so different, but in reality, their situation was more similar than it appeared, they both lived in a pretty closed environment, and in the end, their story is a coming-of-age tale.

There is a quite intelligent person with great talent. They work in their hometown, but due to circumstance they are threatened and they decide to leave rather than quit doing what they love. They arrive in a nice place where they found people who are initially a bit sceptical but then soon became friends. Also, it seems this may be the place where they really feel at home, perhaps?

A boy with an amazing talent goes to a place where he can compete and show everyone how great he is. Initially underestimated because neither rich nor famous, quickly show off his skills and became friend with secondary characters, who are surprisingly friendly and supportive.

❃ Protagonist leave their home after a certain event ❃ Despite being a negative event, it will permit them to find love ❃ The similar art style, in particular in the first episodes for the food (it gave me a lot of Studio Ghibli vibes in general)

The two stories seem very similar to me: ❃ There are a map and a treasure ❃ The protagonist is a child ❃ There are pirates ❃ The pirates are anthropomorphic animals ❃ And personally I think that also the atmosphere is similar
