So... I had originally dropped this because I was unsure of the premise in middle school, but I picked it back up again and I honestly find that it's not that bad. Victorian style clothing is my jam, which was what originally drew me to this anime, but the characters are interesting and likable. Although, I will say some things are confusing, and you can sort of tell that the manga must be significantly better. Like there are bits and pieces that aren't really explained in the anime but give you the sort of idea that it must be well thought out. I'll definitely be ... giving the manga a read before I make a full judgement of Black Butler as a whole. As for the anime, it's not a bad watch at all. Doesn't always explain everything, so if you're looking for a grand finale where everything ties together, you probably shouldn't watch it. But the clothing is pretty and the plot episode by episode is fun and interesting. Finnian was my personal favorite character. I also recommend watching it in sub, since some of the voice actors are a tad annoying in English. But overall, a good show. Not a bad watch.

I honestly went in a bit skeptical, but this was a really good show. I mean, really. It manages to balance the comedy and tragedy of a child living alone in such a impactful way. It has an impressive way of punching you in the gut with simple scenes, and keeps Kotaro's backstory mysterious enough that it's intriguing, but gives you enough information to keep you putting pieces together, eager to hear more. It has a great theme, well-done characters, and was overall one of the most impressive anime I've seen lately. I don't want to spoil anything, but I think I'm okay saying that ... the focus is largely on abused children, and how that affects their behavior and reasoning. The show has funny moments, but underneath it all lies a darker story, about why a 4-year old is living all alone. If you're looking to both laugh and cry, I'd definitely recommend Kotaro lives alone. It's one of the best of this year, in my opinion.

To be fair, I went into this completely blind, but it's really subpar on every level. Apocalypse is a fascinating category to me, and generally I'm easy to please. But I didn't ask for fan service, no one did. It's really not necessary and it's pushed over the plot, the story really isn't that interesting. The character development is little to none and most of them are extremely predictable stereotypes. The show puts more effort into trying to create sexual tension than it does developing the characters, and it makes for bad watch. I tried to push through it, but I just couldn't keep watching ... it. I'm not a picky anime watcher, but I've seen better done children's cartoons. I wouldn't recommend this, it's not worth the time of day.

I was a bit skeptical going into this show, as simply gore doesn't really appeal to me. But I was pleasantly surprised to see the fascinating concepts of human nature, which really drew me in. The characters were well written, and the plot line was intriguing. I was very impressed, and it does well for being so short. It had it's softer moments, too, discussing what truly makes us human. I enjoyed it thoroughly, it was far too short. It's not so much of a horror as I thought it would be, but I'd definitely recommend it. It's more scary in a psychological sort of ... way. I really liked this show!

I was a bit of an unfair judge when it came to the cover of Mob Psycho 100. I typically don't enjoy comedy very much and was turned off by the somewhat comedic seeming art style. But this show is one of the few that did an excellent job of being both funny and interesting. I loved Mob as a character, his personality totally clashes with just how strong he is. All the characters, in fact, were either very appealing or absolutely hilarious. The show manages to make me laugh while still creating suspense and plot. I enjoyed it a lot, overall an excellent watch. ... I'm excited to watch season 2!

I was a little skeptical of Wonder Egg Priority at first, and it took me a while to get around to it. But from episode one I was swept into the universe of this story. The anime did a great job of giving you just enough of the story to keep you watching. I loved the characters, particularly Momoe and Ai, and the story did really well with their backstory and character development. I appreciated the show covering a little more adult content, like self-harm and sexual assault without fear. It had a lot of very real reasons people commit suicide, and it spoke volumes. ... The ending left me a little confused, but also pondering. It was excellent in plot, characters, and art. The different scenes and artistic portrayal of monsters was also something that added a lot to the show. I give Wonder Egg Priority a high score, and it's definitely worth the watch!

I've never played the Danganronpa games, but I enjoyed the original Danganronpa anime that came out a lot. This one was much darker than the first, and in a way a lot more terrifying. The graphic amounts were still on the smaller side of the R-rated ones, but the violence itself and the drive behind it is much darker. Danganronpa really has a message to convey, and the message honestly chilled me to the bone. How people can be driven to do awful things, not to people they hate or strangers, but friends. There is a lot of truth in here, and in the midsts ... of the world's chaos currently, it's rather frightening to think that we, also, could be close to, 'The Most Despair Inducing Event in the History of Mankind.' Close to all the violence against one another, and all the distrust. Close to the end of the world. There were times watching this I was so frightened by this message I wanted to slam my laptop screen shut. It's really such a deep thought, and I respect it. It's really a lot scarier than the last one, so viewers be warned. Danganronpa ended fairly well, right? Hope won over despair. No such happy endings lie with this anime. That is all I can say.

I somehow expected this to be less sad as an anime, but boy, was I wrong. I have always loved the tragic story of Romeo and Juliet, in it's old and wondrous English, full of emotions. Right away when I watched the first episode, I knew that it was going to be good. It kept the older English, and that immediately made me love it. It was just as tragic and beautiful as I remembered. There are some fantasy elements that are not so in the book, and the two families are not feuding, but House Montague has killed House Capulet, and Juliet is the ... sole survivor. I have to give a warning, the ending is near unbearable. There was so much pain in my heart watching it, and I don't know if I've ever cried so hard watching an anime. Seeing Romeo and Juliet's precious moments together makes it hard to say goodbye to them, and to a world without them. Be prepared to cry. Honestly, I could cry just thinking about it. I think that we put off this story as a trope so often we forget to just simply see how sad it is. A girl and a boy, in love, their families at war. A love so deep, neither could live without the other. Truly, there was never more a tale of woe, then of Juliet, and her Romeo.

I really enjoyed Osomatsu-san. At first, I was reluctant to start it and confused with all the sextuplets. But it turned out to be a very good show. It was very funny, and it actually had some emotional moments. I really enjoy comedy that actually has moments that make you attached to the characters, like Nanbaka. I'm not usually a big watcher of comedy anime so when I find one I enjoy it's especially rare. The characters were very funny, their unique personality's and problems kept me laughing and crying all the way through. This isn't a show for a younger audience, however. It is ... full of inappropriate jokes and cursing. Though it looks harmless, it's definitely rated R for a reason. However, it's still a very good show. I even had a bias with the sextuplets, which I didn't expect. (I loved Jyuishimatsu and Ichimatsu were my favorites.) I recommend this show, despite it seeming not appealing I really ended up loving it! Give it a try if you want!

I really enjoyed Kamisama. It really sparked a happiness in me and I finished it pretty quickly. It was so much fun to watch and the characters were so attachable. The story line also hooked me pretty quickly, and though I have incredibly low standards for anime (lol) I think this one is pretty good. I was intenstly invested in Tomoe and Nanami's relationship, and the heartbreak of the taboo was hard for me to handle. I think that the really good anime are the one that make you feel as if you were in their shoes, and feel emotional over the characters and their ... story. The ones that can make you cry and laugh and cheer and feel what the characters are feeling. This show definitely did that for me. Sometimes my heart was breaking, other times I felt anger or humor, just like Nanami. It was really sad in some ways, and comedic in others, but the characters, their troubles, and their relationships will steal your heart if you give it half a chance. I highly recommend this anime, it's a good one. I really enjoyed it and if you like a good romance with lots of sadness and some comedy, I think you'll like it too!!
