Boku no Hero Academia

Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann and Boku no Hero Academia, while belonging to different genres, both follow the same story, of a young boy with low self-esteem following in the footsteps of the hero they idolise. Both anime have a lot of heart, and are packed with plenty of quirky humour.

Chuunibyou demo Koi ga Shitai!

At first glance, Aura: Maryuuin Kouga Saigo no Tatakai appears to be a Chuunibyou clone and for all intents and purposes it largely was, and I went in not expecting much. But where Chuunibyou was mostly a comedy/ romance, Aura took a much more real stance and leaned more towards the Drama genre, making for a unique little movie that I thoroughly enjoyed. If you're a fan of Chuunibyou and wanted more, or liked the idea behind it but wished it was more serious, give Aura a chance, you just may end up liking it as much as I did.

Both anime have similar themes and ideas, one centering around vampires, the other demons, with a gratuitious amount of violence. These anime aren't for everyone, but if you loved one, theres a good chance you'll like the other.
