•Both are mistaken as a Light-hearted and Wholesome show with it's cliched tropes (MM being Magical Girl and MA being Fantasy Adventure) that has kids where in fact, It quite actually destroys those expectations. • Both shows present an adorable and innocent premise at first but then goes through a dark and tragic turning point of events. •Both features children as it's main characters that goes through a tragic fate to achieve their desires. •Have the same atmospheric factors with their great deceiving artstyle and fantastic soundtracks. •Both reveals it's much darker side of the story and events on it's last few episodes.

Basically Aobuta is kinda inspired from Bakemonogatari or even the Monogatari Series itself. These two shows has an unrealistic phenomenons as the conflicts. Characters in both are dealing with the manifestation of supernatural things caused by their problems and the Main Character helps the girls to resolve the issue. There's a lot of similarities between the two shows. Some of which are: • Both Male Characters are Non-Sociable High School Student • Both of them also has a perverted personality • There's an obvious romance from the main couples on both shows • Main Character eventually ended up with the Girl they've helped • Characters are experiencing supernatural problems of which causing the conflicts • Hitagi and Mai are both pre-dominant to their partners. They're also kinda have a Tsundere personality. They also share sharp tongue and being • Tsubasa and Rio on the other side are the smart girls which are a close friend of the Main Character. Also, both of them wears an eyeglasses and their "breasts" are kinda larger than average If you liked the other you'll surely enjoy the other. It's not like both shows have the exact same concept. > Monogatari Series deals with Apparitions, Oddities and Aberrations. Ex are Vampires, Gods, etc. while Aobuta conflicts with a phenomenon called "Puberty Syndrome" which is often related with pseudo-scientific events. > Monogatari Series as whole is a dialogue driven show. This is because every dialogues and monologues from the source material is very much important to the show making it almost 90% dialogues. Aobuta is the lesser confusing and the non complex story telling without the weird animations and ecchi. It is more focused on the school life with a little bit of comedy.
