First, if you're watching Demon Slayers solely for the amazingly animated fights then you'll likely not be as disappointed as I've been. Ufotable have made a great work on that aspect as usual. However, if you are a bit more critical on the narrative side of the story as a whole then I'm gonna say there is a lot of weak points there.
The first problem is that the swordsmith village is clearly less exciting and interesting than the district pleasure was the previous season.
Now about the story progression, I felt like we did not advance that much and some characters are still imperfectly develloped like
...
the demon's chief for example.
The struggle of Nezuko against her demonic part is still very superficial too.
We still don't know much more about the "administrator" of the pillars either.
The love pillar, although a quite cute, entertaining and visually pleasing character lacked some impact on the story.
Of course, you still have some nice emotional moments and nice fighting shenaningans but on the whole, it felt like routine and not very ambitious.
Also the humorous bits, quite numerous, were forced and rarely funny but more annoyingly they failed to keep the previous balance by switching immediately to childish puns to serious moments.
But to keep it simple, an entire arc without Inosuke and Zenitsu is just absurd and lame.
The hardcore fans will probably like it but for the ones who watched the first two seasons and asked themselves if it was worth to continue, you might drop it there.
For my part, I'll still probably watch the next arc mostly because of the great Inosuke but I hope it will be better.
