I don't even know how to express myself, this is one of the best animes I've ever seen, it might have felt a bit rushed but nonetheless it was such a pleasant watch, it made me rethink about life and think about the future, now, in the 12th grade when it will be time to part ways with my friends, saying goodbye to everyone, not knowing if we are ever gonna meet again, adult life is such a sad thing to think about, I wonder if I will also feel lonely like the mc or if I will be able to be happy, nevertheless the

memories will forever stay with me, the bonds will never disappear and all the beautiful moment we lived together will remain somewhere in my soul and hearth, I hope everyone that reads this and everyone in general will be able to find happiness in their lives and hopefully all the ones you consider your close ones will always be there for you and may you reunite with them in Heaven or in next life or wherever you believe in. Now that that's done, let's talk about the actual anime, Angel Beats! is a masterpiece, an anime that actually makes you feel something, and may even make you rethink about how you view life as a whole. The back stories have a deep impact on the viewer, each of them being a life lesson, it teaches us that life is temporary and that we should live it to the max, our youth only comes one time in life so we should not waste it thinking about what a worthless life we have, others have it way worse than us however they can still dream, dream of the future, something some of us don't do, most of us however live either in the future or in the past, while you are younger you only think about the future, you live in the future and don't focus at all on the present, as we progress in life and we get older, we start living in the past, always thinking about better days and so we again forget to live in the present, we always get the impression that time flows so so fast, most of us don't live, we just exist.
Story: 10/10 The story follows the lives of some youths that lived miserable lives while they were alive, and now that they are dead are fighting against what they believe to be "God" for giving them the unfair lives that they had. The story gets better and better, deeper and deeper as the episodes progress, each new episode amplifying the theme. The backstories are very well written and actually sad, it has some occasional humour that might feel a bit forced but nonetheless it usually is funny. The ending can be perceived as both sad and happy, most of the characters being at peace with the past.
Art: 9/10 Angel Beats! came out 15 years ago, in 2010 so of course we can't compare it to modern standards however it can still keep up with them, the animation is beautiful, the lighting is wonderful and in general is just well animated.
Sound and Music: 10/10 The music amplifies the deep meaning of the stories, being both amazingly good and used at the right moment.
Characters: 8/10 Some of the main characters actually have sad stories while others still have a sad story but not comparable in terms of suffering and depth to others.
Entertainment: 10/10 An unforgettable experience.
Angel Beats! is a masterpiece that puts the viewer on a rollercoaster of emotions, it can make you both cry and laugh, the story mixes action, drama, and comedy together in order to create this amazing show, you should definitely give it a try!
