The story had a lot of potential, but it was a huge let down. The first few episodes were amazing, and the way the world unfolded felt very natural and exciting. I did not feel like I was in a class room being told exactly how this fantasy world operated. That part was well done.

I felt the show's story took a huge turn for the worse, and left me feeling uninterested. I only finished it for the sake of completion.

It was a deep tale, with a lot of depth, despite the main character being drawn as a ghost bird. The art was fantastically detailed.

This was a very long story, but I think the length of it helped me as a reader, feel the passage of time that was bearing down on the main character.

Through Punpun's life as a child, you smile and enjoy his simplistic and trusting views on the world, and come to understand the progression of his personality and what makes him into an adult. I loved it. It was an excellent story, with fully fleshed out supporting characters.

My ... only negative comment, was that at times when the story switched from one character's view to another, the transition was not clear and I would be a bit confused. This only happened three or four times, and was not deal breaker.

I enjoyed the story of this manga, dark as it was, especially the relationships with the support characters. I felt it was a bit drawn out and repetitive in some of the interactions between the two main characters. The exchanges did not seem to add much of anything, other than really drilling the main plot point into the readers mind. Other than that, it was worth reading. While the story did not hit home to me personally, the side characters still pulled at my heart and made the entire story tragic for everyone involved.
