Honestly when I first started watching this anime I had a good feeling, it was nice vibes and I really liked how they conveyed the interactions between deaf / hearing characters. Just a nice refreshing breeze of romance done differently.

But as I got further into the episodes, I immediately started noticing that the pace was going from zero to turbofuck-mode. I really disliked it. At first I thought it was maybe a slip or two, just to make the romance move forward a bit.... No. It's literally Itsuomi being hella weird and acting possessive and insecure which was definitely not how his character was at ... first portrayed.

The part that I hate the most and find incredibly spent is adding that third wheel aggressive lunatic guy who has a crush on the main girl and gets constantly rejected, when in reality he doesn't even exist. He is literally just there to make Itsuomi stand out and look ''good''. Yeah just put the lunatic guy there and start the shot! Has 2 minutes of screentime to be thorougly emotionally bullied and ghosted. Bruh this anime is seriously bad taste, I'm so dejected by the fact that I thought it might be a nice one, with maybe a bit of nice triangle drama or something. But no, this is sheer disappointement.

There are some anime that hit in a different way so much so that when another season comes out you feel like; ''Oh I had almost forgotten about X. I can't put my finger on why, but I'm hype af to see this being conjured in my world.''

Legitimately I've been surprised with season 3 of Youkoso, how entertained and satisfied it leaves me when finishing any episode. Especially when comparing to seasons 1 and 2 who both of them imo where not really well thought out, nor executed. I still adore them as entertainment, but the plots in 1 and 2 felt forced and unproperly ... paced. Overall not a whole lot of (real) mental gymnastics; which is definitely what Youkoso is aiming at excelling in. It felt like the chapters were relying too much on ''shock'' elements that try to provide sense for an entire frame but fail to do so, and the glass just cracks.
This season doesn't at all. The plot is actually Solid and makes sense. The pacing is Solid and never tires out. The ''shock'' elements make complete sense from beginning to end.

Something I really love about Youkoso is how they make every character shine in and feel tangible, each one is their own work. And how they interact with each other is so satisfying. Especially moments when they are just casually interacting, love it. Holding up to that atmosphere, the intense moments stand out so much more. The emotionnal aspect is present not only as a juggling tool for the intellectual aspects of the show, but particularly it depicts real emotions and relations which are actually relatable. With season 3, I can't emphasize how pleasantly surprised I've been.

Another feature I love about Youkoso is how our protagonist isn't yet again one of those meta generic loser that is incapable of handling difficult (or easier) situations collectedly and not lose his shit, unlike too many other animes... We need MORE of those Giga dudes.
Granted, comes in the aspect of him getting this buff out of his upbreeding but we do as well get to see its duality; how it leaves him emotionless in a lingering for something he does not understand. We see him tackle more human like problems, and from my perspective there is room for developement, in any case I want it to haha. Keep me on the verge anyways.

Overall I am truly enjoying Youkoso S3. Gave it 10/10 without hesitation. It hits the mark in so many boxes, I wish S1 & 2 were more like S3. Probably why it doesn't have that many members as of today when compared to other bigger' airing animes.
Personally this is my fav anime of the past 12 months, at least.

Kuzu no Honkai is one of those animes which just burst into my life like waking up one morning to a broad white field of snow that covered everything around me. It's just this anime which takes you deep into how the author wants to make you feel about it. The creator hasn't done this artwork to please the maximum of people. Just like going out of your home into a blizzard, stunned in wonder and beauty, or in shivers and frost, or if you are me: in both. I take that the author followed his own instincts, this is what makes this piece very ... confronting, and I especially like that about it. You will understand better why I say all of this when you read my review as a whole.

Story 10/10
This story is just so full of surprises. In every episode we discover something new, and in a very, very dramatic way. The way ideas are presented to us is simply bold and strongly linked to each characters deeper inner voice. The story builds on in the few first episodes with a suspenseful tranquility, to then make its rise into emotion with even more ferocity by having huge contrasts between episodes which all have their own turn and feel. The episodes seem to appear in a fashion of mini movies in the way that they come out as being very clear in their development within the story and in how much mind-challenge each one holds. I was personally really moved by the ideas that were suggested in Kuzu no Honkai, not only because of how novel they were to me, but especially because of the way in which they struck me.

Art 10/10
The art is simply bliss. Each scenery just flows into the other without any struggle whatsoever. You just get trapped into the story. I really like it when this anime sometimes looms manga-like images into the video, it makes it even more authentic and inclines me to be more involved with such an art piece. The artwork on characters is just magnificent, it's an art so beautiful and yet very distinct to itself. I'm really into a manga/anime when the art is beautiful. I suppose it makes me feel like the thing is more real because my feelings cling easier to the beauty of characters, and in turn more importantly to their personality which may then make my experience even more emotionally tangible. What I especially liked was how the art worked subtly with sounds by combining with purpose, like a triggering tempo.

Sound 10/10
It speaks to me a whole lot on this level. The music and sound in this anime is incredible. I know I often introduce an idea by only giving adjectives, but the thing is I don't use words when I don't think them with real honesty and without keeping up my stance up to them. The character's voice choice is a pure delight. They represent the characters as in who they are with precision. The surrounding sounds make the experience more palpable. We can really feel how the creators choose carefully each and every sound that is being realized. The music in itself eludes so much into the art piece by allowing to flow at the right time, and by having been composed with intent. The smallest sounds really freak me out though, a finger touching wood, the kissing, the whispers, the flow of wind, the emotional tone...

Characters 10/10
Characters simply go beyond my own expectations. They are full of intrigue, even the one's that first appear as being really bland and dull, develop into their very own piece's of work. The way in which we are projected into their lifes ; an inception that works out emotions of your own as a release into the more concrete. I personally got caught up so tight with Noriko's impression of the world. The way in which the episode focused on her is brought into life is simply amazing.

I can simply not express my enjoyment enough with such a short and simple review. I thought at the least, that I should give back the people who made this anime some of my gratitude. This is only the second review I have written so far on my anime list, and I won't write one unless tremendously moved.

Overall 10/10
I guess when I think back of this anime, and of how I felt at that moment when the sound and images used to emerge in front of me, I can never really remake or rewrite the feel of my experience. It's as if I would get overwhelmed if I tried to do it. Taken into a push, mystic, every snow flake around, impossible for me to catch all at once, whether it be with my ears, eyes or hands.

I wish to add as well that you might want to come back to read this review once you've experienced the piece on your own. In the hope that I can share my feelings.
