'Save the world, date these girls!' is what these two animes are screaming. One is more based on action, while the other one is more based on romance. While Itsuka Shidou dates the girls to save the world and stop spacequakes, Keima dates the girls to stop himself from being beheaded by the collar on his neck. Both animes have a similar feel as well, though the anime version of Date A Live goes more in detail in terms of story than Kami nomi does.

Both of the plots of these animes are basically almost the same concept, apart from the fact that in Angel Beats they are all in the afterworld. Just like Otonashi sticks with a whole group, Naoe Riki does as well. Both of these animes go deep into the past of most of the characters, and that's what makes them so similar.

Both of the main characters gain a power because of the actions of their heroine, both of them are bound together throughout the anime, only differences are, the quality on Guilty Crown is more modern than of Elemental Gelade, and the character depth as well.

In both anime the main character is sent into a game which is a live or die situation, both of them meet a heroine inside of the game, and both are amazing. The only difference is that in SAO, they have to work together and in Btooom, they have to kill each other in order to complete the game.
