overall, pretty cute; 8/10 for me. The latest sport festival arc is definitely the weakest arc since most of the story beforehand seemed sorta realistic and cute between 2 highschoolers who like each other but the festival just takes it to a level of unrealism with the actions of the male mc taking a complete 180 for the sake of making this more 'romantic' and kinda in the realm of cringe heroism.

However, with the rest of the series, while you may think that the story will get boring and repetitive fast with the reliance of the "i love you" game, there is enough development ... between the 2 protagonists as well as exploration of the two characters that it can still be an easily fun and cute read for romance enjoyers. Therefore, for people who regularly enjoys romance, this is a definite recommend (although with a fall with the latest arc but perhaps the author can salvage it to create a more satisfying ending).

The one thing i wish this series done better before the weaker festival arc is the personality of the female mc. The male mc seems (while cringe sometimes) like a real high schooler who tries to do his best for his crush. He has a real personality and is distinct from other cheap self-inserts with his likes (asmr lol) and personality (except for the school arc) but the problem lies with the female mc i feel. NO doubt she is very cute and literally every guy's fantasy-- but that is the very problem, she is too perfect. The story feels like it attempts to give a real genuine personality for the both of them with equal moments of inner monologue to build each character and share their personality but while the male mc seems genuinely well done the female mc is just any other very cute fantasy child hood friend you will find in any generic romance. Does that necessarily detract from the cute romance that many people will be looking for? NO probability not, but from a more general reader, this can seem more like a self-insert generic romance.

Overall, very cute series and very enjoyable if you love romance. Art is great but there is literally no development or time for any characters except for the 2 main ones (the other side characters feel more like props but have their use in the story ig). But if you are coming with a genuine interest in the characters and a solid story, there are definitely better series out there that does a much better job (like the fragrant flower). Therefore, i would have to rate this series with mixed feelings but still recommend for romance lovers.

Akame ga kill! Zero is a prequel to Akame ga kill manga. The series focuses mostly on Akame and her sister, their past together when they were working for the assassin unit for the empire, and how with the reason why Akame left the empire and her sister to make the people 'happy' and join Night Raid. This series could've been read without the knowledge of the original sequel series, however i do recommend to read the sequel because it did come out first. Although it's just a personal opinion.

The story is pretty similar to the original Akame ga Kill series. Except rather ... than working against the empire as an assassin unit, she works for the empire. We get to see her early missions with her old squad members, and the cruelty of them. As the story goes on we can see how she is slowly changing from being brainwashed into thinking the empire is great into realizing how corrupt it is as she is being persuaded to learn the truth through the teachings of her enemies. Just like the parent story, it has themes of corruption, cruelty, and the sad truth of reality. Although there are many great points about the show there are some downsides like forced and unnecessary comedy and the pointless fanservice in half the chapters. If you can look past that then it can be an enjoyable read (Unless you enjoy ecchi, which then it's another reason to read the manga). If you didn't enjoy the parent story then i don't recommend reading this series as it is pretty similar.

There were many new characters in this series including Akame's team: The Elite Seven, and the second assassin unit consisting of Kurome and a few others who are less skilled but just below the Elite Seven. There were many new characters in this series but they did add some of the old members from the sequel, such as Chelsea, Esdeath, and most of the members from Night Raid near the end of this series. Both of the assassin groups working for the empire were manipulated and brainwashed into thinking the empire is great and needed to be "protected" by the evil rebels wanting to start a war and disturb peace and happiness of the people. You will understand as you read the story why Akame could escape their brainwashing while Kurome couldn't. They did well in character development, although it was mostly on Akame and her sister. The new characters were 'Okay', they weren't great but some were quite likable while others were 'meh'. If you read the parent series then you would know not to get too attached to the new characters though.

The art was quite good. It was done with a lot of blood and gore, with dark themes which did pretty good with the environment of the series. Sometimes in was lazy but others it was a notch above average. You knew exactly what the author was trying to tell and didn't have to look back. The character designs were pretty average. Nothing special nor worth mentioning. But they were still well-drawn. Not bad but wasn't the best part of the series.

Overall, I give it a 7. I really enjoyed it. There are plenty of flaws but the good did outweigh the bad. It had just as much action as the original and if you wanted great fight scenes then this is a manga for you. I personally loved it quite a bit because i am a shounen fan. There are a lot of ecchi and unnecessary fanservice which sometimes ruin the mood of the sometime seriousness of the manga, but overall it was really an enjoyable read and i do recommend you give it a try.

This is my first time writing a review, and because no one else wrote one yet, i thought of writing one myself. I'm writing this review for the current 3 chapters translated available to me at the moment and might update this review as more translated chapters are released.

So far, so good.

There hasn't been much information brought to us about Academy City's number 2 esper: Kakine, Teitoku (In the animes at least); and to see a manga about him is quite exciting. Having this series start not too long ago (August of 2019) and the first volume just released in March 26 of this ... year, it makes sense how its not well known yet. But so far, its good. There hasn't been enough English chapters released yet to give much info on the story but i can tell that it has similar elements to the accelerator manga. Also, please keep in mind that you have to have at least watched a season of index or a season of railgun to know whats going on just like the accelerator anime/manga.

I won't go too far into the depth of the story because it'll be much easier to read the 3 chapters for yourself, but so far the chapters released are interesting. Like accelerator, Kakine is cold hearted (Or WAS for accelerator) and now is taking care of a mysterious loli named Yuzuriha, Ringo. Seeing the fragments of Kakine's past is by far the most interesting part of the story and witnessing the loli's character and her backstory is also worth mentioning. The art for this manga is quite superb and is far better than that of accelerator's and railgun's manga. The art has more details and shading which fits the mood of the manga. Not much has been said about the other members of SCHOOL but Kakine's and the loli's past is enough to persuade me to read on at least. Overall it's interesting and i think you should give it a try. And yes, its after Accelerator has been shot but takes place before the battle royale arc.
