...then you might like Akatsuki no Yona add

Fushigi Yuugi is slightly older yet one of my favorite animes of all times. Akatsuki No Yona has a similar vibe. Both animes center around a beautiful female lead who is innocent/kind and slowly transitions to a strong formidable character. If you like romantic/period animes with really good looking male characters (*drool* .... sorry!) vying for female attention, yet the female only has one potential partner (unlike the ones where the leads cannot make up their mind) - then you will love both of these animes. Although in Akatsuki, it's a bit subtle - but then again it doesn't have a season 2... yet! so who knows. These animes have a good story line, funny moments, strong character build up, and friendship elements between the male characters - which at times is hilarious as they gang up on each other.
