(This is only a recommendation for Hill Climb Girl) Both deal with bike racing and the whole time I was watching the Hill Climb Girl short film, I kept thinking about Yowa Pedal.

Both are a series of short films that are unrelated to one another. Both have rather different themes and ideas from the norm of what is seen in other anime as well.

If you liked Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann add

...then you might like Samurai Flamenco add

The similarities between these two anime reside in the fact that it just keeps escalating. It gets more and more ridiculous through the series, in a good way. Samurai Flamenco makes some intense changes at episode 7 and then keeps getting more intense. Gurren Lagann starts off with some intense changes and keeps working up to an epic scale. If you liked one, you're sure to at least find something you'd like about the other.

If you liked Serial Experiments Lain add

...then you might like Samurai Flamenco add

This recommendation is based on the fact that both series will leave you wondering what on earth is going on 80% of the time. Though, this isn't a bad thing. It's a little bit less so with Samurai Flamenco as things eventually keep getting explained but I've definitely had a few episodes where I've had no idea what in the world is going on at the end. Both of these are great shows all around and both are worth the watch.

I feel that the way space is designed and the ridiculousness is similar. In a good way.

If you liked ef: A Tale of Melodies. add

...then you might like Suki tte Ii na yo. add

They are both love stories that have a bit of dimension to them. One dealing with complex love issues between the main character helping others with their relationships (Sukitte Ii Na Yo) The other dealing with the fact of two main love stories that tie in together at some point (ef: A Tale of Melodies) ef: A Tale of Memories is also a good idea to watch.
