Very similar writing style and high-quality art with a European-inspired setting. Has “heart” like DGM instead of solely action.

Dragon Quest: Dai no Daibouken
add

Both series have very similar tones and art styles. If you want another series like early Dragon Ball, this is the one for you. Their comedy works well with their light-hearted beginnings. Both have “pure evil” antagonists and journey with many friends. They also were in Jump around the same time and have well-developed worlds. Very plucky, kind, and loud protagonists with many friends.

It’s essentially a spiritual successor to Act-Age. Quite similar quality art, about acting and the industry, and also some great writing. It’s something to give us Act-Age fans something to put our faith in.

Jujutsu Kaisen

Honestly, it’s shockingly similar. While Jujutsu Kaisen is a darker series and Bleach the lighter one, it’s clear that Gege Akutami was influenced heavily by Bleach. The relationship to death as a concept is very much pulled from Bleach, as well. Incredible fights in both. One of the larger differences is simply that Tite Kubo is a much better character designer and artist. But, Jujutsu Kaisen does well enough. Definitely suggest Bleach, though, if you haven’t already read it. Some amazing fights and just a fun time overall. It’s not as long as its chapter amount, simply due to a lot of panels just being for fights. A quick read for such a long series. Enjoy!

Has a very similar idea, with a bunch of filler and a large cast but still keeping everything coherent Both are heavily reliant on their action and comedy. Both descend from "happiness" to madness. Both have minor psychological aspects, nearer the end

Heppoko Jikken Animation Excel♥Saga
add

Excel Saga is a joy to watch throughout the entire anime and is even crazier than FLCL but with a (little) more structure than it. In every episode, a new thing in entertainment is parodied, making every episode feel fresh and new. I highly suggest the English dub for the sheer craziness that the voice actor for Excel puts into her role.

It’s time to ditch the text file.
