Not much to say about it, I really enjoyed the movie, the animation was good, the characters were cute, not annoying at all, the artstyle very beautiful... All in all, I would give it a 7.5 as it was a nice, pure, sentsentimental, fantasy - adventure story of 1hr and 40mins long, that reminds me many other anime and movies. So I would recommend it for the whole family and I would say somehow similar to -
When Marnie was here, A letter to Momo, Drifting home, Totoro, Weathering with you, Penguin highway, Children who chase lost voices, Mirai no mirai, A whisker away, Summer days
...
with Coo etc

Most reviews here scored this with a 7 but in my opinion it's a mediocre 5.
It could have potential to be better but unfortunately, nothing was new.
That 3dcgi design is not for everyone (in my opinion, sometimes it was even worse than Berserk since it was mentioned somewhere), it felt like bad copy of some evil Disney princess or Barbie colorful character with magic butterflies and stuff and made it somehow unpleasant to watch. It did'nt fit with the theme while it could've been better, like for example in Ling Long or Hei Men, if we want to talk about 3d scifis.
The
...
story and character building was mediocre too. A team of 4 crew members, arrive with their spacecraft at a new planet that is to be terraformed, in order to make it livable for the future, since humans are forced to leave Earth and migrate. We've seen this concept so often in scifis, simple plot (even in boargames like Terraforming Mars haha).
Anyway the story focuses on each member of the team, that is made by a biological 3D printer but during the printing process of a member, something wrong happens and as a result, a new hybrid is made (which to be honest, was the only likable character in the series). So the rest of the members, are called to take some decisions until they reach the surface of the new planet but each one, has their own goals and different personalities.
Another funny thing was also that 3D printing of weapons in the ship wasn't allowed to avoid violence, while we know that someone, can use even a fork as weapon.
Anyway, so overall, MIXED FEELINGS because it felt like watching a short soap opera, with predictable dramas, tiwsts, betrayals and some romance, unwrapped during the journey. But for only 8 episodes (and with the faster speed option) with -at least- a complete story, I guess you have nothing to lose. If you are hooked, feel free to try it, but have in mind that there are other better scifis out there, like the 3d ones I said above and many more, worth watching and which stay in your mind.

So, I would score this movie with a 7. It was a pretty good fantasy (I would add adventure, suspense, drama, slice of life) movie and I would recommend it.
It's about the childhood memories of two kids - friends who used to live in the same building block that now is about to be demolished.
During their summer vacation, they decide to visit it one last time but suddenly, something unexpected happens and a long journey begins.
The art and visuals are a pleasure in the eye, the music, sound and v.a. are great too. The main idea of the story and the pacing were interesting.
...
There was also enough backstory from their past, shown gradually and character developement, as well as good chemistry between the main characters.
(There might be considered some *spoilers* ahead so if you want to keep reading, it's with your responsibility. I will explain what I liked and disliked about the movie)

Reina and the mc were annoying in some cases but we can't forget that they behave childish because they are still kids so it's justyfied. While the story continues, we also see some nice moments of bravery or emotional and heart warming scenes.
But I think something was missing to make it great and for a 2hr movie, I think there was enough time to show better and explain some more things -
like for example to analyze and involve more the rest characters who were just caught up in that weird situation and existed there for no serious resons or to say it better, they existed only to help the main characters to get out of dangerous siuations, or clear out better, about what was that fantasy place they were travelling to, what was this blue and black magical existence and why did that finally happen, what was the purpose of all this.
For us, the audience though, it was a nice journey we did along with those kids, watching them remembering their past memories, fighting and facing their fears and the hazards around them, together with Noppo the mystery figure. Who by the way, I think, he represented the nostalgic spirit of the house and all the bittersweet memories of the past, that they created together during their childhood years of living there and also, leave and seal them there so they can get along with again, move on and create new and better ones (memories) for the future ahead...
What should I say about this anime? Starting with the art style, the character design, the animation, the colours, the sound, the voice acting... Everything was great and promising, so detailed, creative, an eye orgasm and with the potential to score it with a 9/10!
But what really makes an anime worth it, is not just amazing visuals and little things all around. The first and most important thing needed, for an anime/series/movie etc to say that it was great, is a nicely explained storyline/script/narrative (even if it's simple is still fine) but with no plot holes, that leads to a satisfying ending and character
...
development with backgrounds, motives, intentions, goals and then come all the rest. And here's where Kaizoku fails and unfortunately turns into a mediocrity 5/10.
We have a beautiful, pure girl Fena but she's not smart or strong enough to defend herself in difficult situations. She needs protection (plot armor) and she's useful and valuable, only for her memories that weren't really nor clear nor even hers. As her journey begins and continues, we see her training but never actually fight with anyone to shine as a "pirate princess" like the title says. So being like this, she's the least interesting character until now.
She has an awkward romance with her ninja virgin boy Yukimaru. Him and his friends, try to help her to find a mysterious island Eden that she recalls in her memories where a treasure must be hidden. There's also a very dangerous antagonist with a nice background who's chasing them and with his team, makes their journey more complicated. It's interesting in the beginning, but after a few episodes, we see that while we start actually care about the side characters too, they are making bad jokes between them and generally they are all poorly written and nothing really happens.

.
{* SPOILER ALERT
.
.
.
And the worst is the anticlimactic ending! (it reminds me of some more anime with the same horrible ending that unfortunately I was so disappointed in, like Wonder egg priority, Gleipnir, Darwin's game etc)
When they finally find Eden, it's exposed to us that Fena OUT OF NOWHERE was tested all this time because she's a chosen maiden witch that has to decide about the fate of the world based on the sins! She has to choose, if the world as everyone knows it, should end now and reset or in the distant future. A rhetorical question whether humanity deserves to be or not to be. And while noone knows what the right answer is, we suddenly see Fena losing her current memories again, changing her hair colour and keep travelling with Yukimaru and the rest members around the world, with the promise of her beloved to regain her memories back.}
I feel that despite having many choices in the storyline, they chose the worst possible ending with many plot holes and unanswered questions that could be covered with a couple of more episodes. I don't think that a 2nd course would be necessary. If they removed some filler scenes and replaced them with more important infos and actually show us, instead of doing a ridiculous exposition by speaking in a single last episode, it would be one of the most exciting anime ever! (explaining/showing for example how those virgins witches are being chosen, why is Fena so important to make that choice, why didn't she have her memories, why was she being manipulated, how is she a witch, how are the ninjas involved in this situation etc).

Watching this anime, my mind goes to some other related to art anime too, like, Put your hands off Eizouken, Kakushigoto, Shirobako, Barakamon, Bakuman, despite of, they have to do with different kind of art and stories. Also other artistic or with strange stylistic art anime, are, FLCL, Tatami galaxy, Dorohedoro and Idaten deities (Heion sedai..).
I would score this as a 6,5/10 because the sound and story are ok, characters are interesting and the art style is good enough but the enjoyment and all in all, the anime isn't something so extraordinary. I don't know what's missing to put a better score but there's
...
a point from where it turns in meh instead of wow. Maybe it's the pacing or the dull colours in some scenes or analysing some side characters more than it needs to or maybe even that there's not much interaction between the mc and -generally between- the characters, as classmates. I think more scenes were needed, to look more active (like when they all went to an art museum or like when Yatora and Ryuuji went somewhere together and sketched and discussed and compared their artworks), I don't really know.
The mc Yatora, in the beginning is a boring typical boy, ok maybe an excellent student but how usual, like many others in his age that haven't decided what to do in their lives. Some would say that he decided to go with the easy way and be a penniless artist but art, isn't easy at all and mostly the art school he decides to attend to, despite of his mother's objections and that's where his character becomes interesting.
While studying for the exams and struggling with being an artist, expressing his passion and trying to improve his skills, he also meets with many different types of people. People of art, have usually an odd lifestyle and are attracted to or surrounded by other interesting people, (teachers and classmates in this case) and their stories (see Ryuuji, Maki etc).
Finally, some say it's more inspiring to school/college/art students but since it's not only focusing in art but human relations too, I'd say it's for everyone. Socialising, communicating, learning to interact, developing skills and friendships, connecting, making bonds and trying to understand others and yourself, growing up and becoming more mature, are also parts of life.

So as the title says it's about the daily life of some highschool kids who practice magic. I haven't watched many Chinese anime, yet I continue with the 2nd season and also the 3rd is already announced.
I found the art and animation pretty good as well as the opening and ending songs for both seasons but the rest, I'd say they're just ok for example the sounds in the battles are nothing special and nothing memorable. Same goes for the storyline and dialogues, as well as for the characters.
They are a little shallow, there's an op bored mc who shows almost no emotions except
...
when it comes to the gf so it's boring for us too with no particular character development.
The next season seems to be going somewhere but it keeps going with the same pace so in my opinion it's a 6 and I wonder why it got higher scores. I don't think I will change it in both seasons and the main reason is, that there some interesting moments with the enemies and some funny ones between the classmates, which are those that I enjoy and keep me continue watching it.

Super Cub is a slow paced, relaxing, slice of life anime
about a shy and calm high school girl Koguma
who buys a second hand motorcycle to help her with her daily life.
Her cub also helps her start a new friendship with Shii a short caring cutie with a bike
and her classmate Reiko, an outgoing, energetic and ambitious girl
who also rides a cub, has much knowledge of motorcycles
and has a goal, to climb Mount Fuji with her vehicle.
Looks interesting at first sight right? And the art, visuals and sound are really good!
I always catch myself wanting to listen the
...
whole ending theme even after the episode is over. Eye catching, calming and detailed sceneries, contrast of colours depending on the situation, some times dull, sometimes vibrant, really heart warming and enjoyable!
But here we go, that's all there is. Concerning the plot, there isn't any.
Nothing really happens and characters are nothing more than that.
Monotonous dialogues, no development, not much interaction between the characters, no backgrounds and here's where this show starts losing me and makes me bored.
We take it for granted from the beginning that Koguma has no personal life for example but if it's not shown or explained somehow why should we care about such empty characters?
I'd really like to see how, at least our main character got there, living alone in a small apartment and why is so lonely without family, interests or friends.
Also why Reiko is also living alone? I'd like to see some interaction to make it more interesting (not yuri necessarily). Like, why not decide living together since they are friends, so they can share the expenses and help each other? Why not try to become more social with other classmates etc...?
Something is missing to be wholesome, I don't know what, writers could find a way in the end, not to make it seem like a promotional advertisement for cubs.
So since I have almost finished watching the series, as much as I'd love to give it a higher and better score, unfortunately in my opinion it's a mediocre show and I give it around 5 or 6 at best.
I would recommend it, but while doing other tasks too, because you wouldn't miss anything important happening in the plot.
