After watching both in an immediate span of time. I believe I have been given a transcendent revelation. I HIGHLY recommend you to watch Shigatsu FIRST, then Given. To me, I believe Given to be the soulful successor of Shigatsu. Shigatsu gives depth and weight to Given. The same 'setsunai' and 'left behind'-ness. While Given gives the hope and the closure to Shigatsu. Time will flow again. Go on this journey. Amen. Elohim essaim. Elohim essaim.

Nejimaki Seirei Senki: Tenkyou no Alderamin

Both involve Military Strategy and Politics. With focus on intellect rather than pure brawn. The MC in both mangas are placed in a peculiar position in the military (double agents?), surrounded by subordinates and equals. Both Protags are tacticians and sharp making for a good read. Although Nejimaki is colored with some fantasy - it does bring out military skirmishes interestingly.
