I don't usually write reviews so this won't be a long one. I read the manga before I watched the anime, and I binged it over 5 days. That being said, the rating baffled me, because I was very frustrated, and at times even annoyed while watching this anime. I'm going to raise some points. If you have not read the synopsis, then this will be a spoiler for you. Point 6 is a slight spoiler even if you have read the synopsis.
1. The animation. A lot has been said, it's really bad guys, like the sounds and actions don't match. There is one eating
...
scene where the actions don't match themselves...
2. The inconsistencies in the characterisation. While that becomes more apparent in the manga, but the characters overall are very incoherent in the anime.
3. The plot is full of holes and badly thought out twists. Saying more would be spoiler, but it's really, really poorly developed guys, I'm being very honest.
4. The most glaring flaw is the timetravel aspect. It is not explained, oversimplified, cliché, and incredibly jarring to follow.
5. The plot is structured such that the two main characters will develop a very unhealthy codependency, and while that's not the problem, the way it's showed in a positive light kinda is.
****Spoiler next point.****
6. I wonder what to feel about the fact that Takemichi, a 26 years old man in a 14 years old body, was physically attracted to Emma, who is 14 or younger at the time.
I'll stop here, and my point was to raise these issues basically, because I have rarely been this disappointed. I leave the rest to your judgement but like, please don't go in with too much expectations. I was very tempted to give it a 4, but I do like some attention to detail where I least expected it.
