Not too sweet romance. Somehow it's both a "mature/grown-up" & "coming-of-age" story. The characters are interesting and three-dimensional with things to like, dislike & not fully understand about them. I didn't read the source material & despite my fear of love triangles I really enjoyed the story.
The animation is absolutely beautiful, especially the hair, facial expressions, and body language. The lighting, shading, movement, well really overall everything in my humble opinion it's quite visually striking and smooth.
The soundtrack is limited, but that might count in its favor as one continues to watch the music ques create an

Fun, relaxing, wholesome & romantic. Anyone (guys & girls) looking for a relaxed ~no-anxiety~ romance story, give this a chance!
I've seen this anime get a lot of hate, this is mainly from social justice warriors who can't accept that fiction is sometimes there to make someone feel happy & fluffy even if it isn't realistic. It's a healing school-life romance anime. The episodes are a bit slow-paced but nice. The point of this genre of anime is not really the plot, but it does have relationship & character development. Skeleton Knight is an enjoyable isekai with a ridiculously OP MC that hardly ever faces hardships. Unless you're a social justice warrior feminist on a high horse or a tunnel-visioned sheep, you'll probably enjoy this. It has very little in common with other shows that happen to have a skeleton mc, except for being an isekai.
The story is quite relaxed and adventure along the way is more important than the mostly forgotten main objective - which does not feature in the first season really. The music is fun and fitting to the overall feel of the anime. The animation and art felt ... May 24, 2020
If you like the isekai genre this is a good watch. The characters are mature (mostly) and the story is enjoyable. There is some tragic backstory info but not too much. It has a bit out of place comedy and fan service, but it's enough to be able to endure. It has a typical enjoyable plot with a "to-be-continued so read the source material cause no season 2" type ending. The upbeat opening song doesn't match with the darker aspects of the story at all but it's catchy in its own way. If you enjoy overpowered MCs and ridiculous
