I think since it's only 3 chapters so there's not much we can talk about, it still seems like an introduction to the story... everything is still gray. To be honest I was a bit surprised to see that the genre is josei romance, but given Fujita's background I think it's understandable. Following that, I might be wrong (and I apologize if I am) but I think it's going to be a pansexual romance... which I hope is true because romance stories with pansexual characters in them are still really, really rare...
I don't know how to express it perfectly but after knowing that Renri was biologically female, it made me realize the little things he does to live as a man. Seeing him reminded me of my old self who once thought that it would be great if I could be born and live as a man, although, in the end I still chose to live as a woman. As for Azuru, I can't say much about him yet, but one thing I feel is that I don't think it's like Azuru wanted to be born as a girl, he was just born as a boy who doesn't like the things that most boys like, which is completely normal to me? There's no one and nothing that obligates a man to only like blue and black, or makes pink and white exclusive to girls. That's just society's making, and we don't have to follow society's "dictates". Besides, wouldn't it be boring if everything was the same? Why be the same when we can be different according to who we are? I think being colorful is more fun than just being black and white.
But yeah, those are all minority thoughts. There are still so many humans who are afraid of being different because they will become a minority and be ostracized, so they will choose to stay in the box. That being said, I really and highly appreciate people who have the courage and determination to step out of the box to be their own color.
I personally still choose to live as a woman for several reasons, people would say that it's the right thing to do since I'm going to marry a man one day... well, while it's not entirely wrong, it's also not entirely right. Sex and gender don't really matter to me, because I also want that person to see me as me and appreciate me for who I am and my wholeness, not just because I'm a woman. That's why aside from the fact that it's about gender and self-identity, I'm also happy that the romance here has the potential to be a proper pansexual romance. I'm looking forward to the next chapters! Ugh but I'm a bit worried about Azuru's little brother... I really am. His father already sounds like trouble, and his younger brother doesn't look like on his side either.
Oh wait. Why did I tell you about myself instead? Lol. I'm sorry :"D you don't have to reply to this if you're not sure, but if you want to share a bit of your story as well then it's more than welcome :)
Yup, yup~ A few days ago I found the Villain manga and I'll definitely read it soon! Please wait for me so we can discuss it together :) thanks for letting me know ;D
Aaaah right, I was searching on twitter for "Fujita Villain" after you told me, and oh my... instantly in love with the theme! The art was so pretty as well. Have you heard the song yet?
Anyway thank you very much for letting me know about this! Lately I've been stuck and haven't found any new lgbtq+ manga that makes me want to read it, so I've only been reading the ones that I've been keeping up with. I was intrigued by the concept and the theme of Villain, hopefully it won't disappoint ;)
A manga about gender dysphoria by the author of Wotakoi? Count me in. I'll definitely read it ;) but it seems that MAL hasn't included it in its database yet... if I may know, where did you find this info or where would you read it?
But I honestly didn't expect Fujita-sensei would write a manga about gender dysphoria... a bit surprising
Have you ever heard of Gin no Saji? I think it was the best slice of life and comedy of its time. I also see that you like animal and plant related stuff too? Then it's even better because Gin no Saji is an anime about agriculture! They planted rice, raised pigs, milked cows... cleaned horse manure XD but it all seemed so fun that I felt like going back to school and majoring in agriculture. :)
If you want something more unique and eccentric, then you can try watching Appare-Ranman! It's unique, eccentric, quirky and quite funny at some moments.
I hope one of these will suit your taste. Enjoy!
