Just to be clear, this will be more of a comment on the anime than a review. This anime had so much potential and just... didn't turn out to be much. The first few episodes were incredibly enjoyable. There's so much backstory that they never touched on. So much they didn't put in between each episode and very low amount of character development...
12 episodes just wasn't enough for this anime... It's a shame an anime with such potential was cut down to virtually nothing. I can only rate this a 5 as a mediocre anime because of that. I wanted to like this anime but

it just was poorly made.

You know, I really am not even sure where to begin on this anime. After watching the final episode I'm left feeling really disappointed and confused...
Throughout this anime, it was very entertaining and fun to watch. The character development was really well done, the drama between characters was a good touch without turning the entire anime in to some stupid soap opera. Yes, there's quite a bit of fan service which I hate in anime, but it surprisingly did not bother me, because it actually made sense to the character development.
With that said, the development of the characters was astounding considering there were only 10

episodes to this anime. One of the things I am disappointed about this anime, is how short it was. It made this anime feel rushed. There was just way too much missing in the middle of the story.
So let's break this down section by section to see if I can put a finger on what I liked and disliked about this anime.
Pros: The anime had a great base story line. The character development was fantastic for such a short anime, and I enjoyed the 1st 9 episodes a lot.
Cons: The ending was rushed, there was a huge lack of content before the ending it felt like, and there was a bit too many sex based scenes.
Story: At the very start of this anime, it felt like "this is a Code Geass knock off". The first couple episodes with the main character ordering people to obey him, I just felt "this is Lelouch all over again." With that said, I wouldn't say this is necessarily a bad thing, as I loved Code Geass. The story jumped straight in to action with the kidnapping of Eiji's sister, forcing him to be "king" and immediately going to war. There was a lot of action to the anime throughout it, which is what made it so enjoyable to watch.
Art: Personally, I cannot watch anime that look like they were drawn with colored pencils. If it has good art/animation I'll tend to watch at least some of almost any anime. That said, there was great art and animation to this anime. Smooth and fluent movement of the scenery and characters and not bad to look at.
Sound: The only thing I ever really pay attention to in sound, is the voice acting. Nobody had an obnoxious voice, so I have to say the sound was good.
Character: As for the individual characters, there were a lot of positives and a lot of negatives to this. The main few characters had great development as I mentioned before. Although due to the rushed 10 episode anime, the supporting characters were really left in the back ground on this anime. There were some characters that were easy to like and some that were easy to hate. I think that's a good thing sometimes though when there's a mix of likable and hateable chatacters.
Enjoyment: I want to say hey this was one of the most enjoyable animes out there. It had so much potential based on the first 9 episodes. Sadly however the enjoyment was just sucked away with the ending. I mean, if the ending was episode 24, with content to fill in the void that this anime left me feeling like I missed half of the episodes, then yea it would be a great ending... But because of being so rushed I just feel like the enjoyment was sucked away.
Overall, I can only rate this anime as a 4. The more I think about it, the more disappointed and confused I become about this anime.

Let me start off by saying the only thing even remotely decent about this anime is the art. The reason for this, is because this anime was so obnoxious and boring all together that I couldn't even finish it... I normally finish even the most appalling of anime, but this was just too much.
The pathetic story of this sounds interesting, but it's played out so horribly bad that I found myself just falling asleep in the middle of each episode. 24 minutes per episode was just way too long to bare.
The voice acting of the main character annoyed the crap out of me. Especially when

she was talking to herself in her head. If I were her brother, I don't think I would have lived through more than a week dealing with her. I would have killed myself.
Speaking of the main character, she has got to be the worst anime character since all of the characters of One Piece. Boring and annoying. At least the One Piece of crap characters were exciting...
When I first read the description, I thought this would be a relate able and unique anime. After even one episode, I realized how horrible wrong I was... By episode 3, I began to feel I've wasted close to 4 hours of my life because of how many times I had fallen asleep and how annoying this anime had become. By episode 5, I became determined to finish this anime just to say I did as an accomplishment. Lastly, by episode 10, I gave up. I just couldn't do it.
This anime was that bad. Appalling beyond measure. Worst anime I've ever attempted to watch. If I could rate it -10, it wouldn't be negative enough.

Okay, so there really is not much to say about this anime from my point of view. I'm not much for writing reviews but I for whatever reason felt a need to do so this time.
As stated above, not really much to say. It's a disaster movie. An earthquake takes place and people are displaced, many die, get wounded, ect ect. This young girl and her brother are at a robot exhibit when the earthquake takes place. They meet a woman who decides to help them get home since they live in the same direction. any disaster movie out there. The thing is, the characters fit perfectly, voice acting was great. The art work was low quality compared to some of the better anime out there, but it's not terrible.
To do a full review though, I personally consider a disaster movie/anime to be typical... so I generally would not think they would be rated all that high. This i'd put at 8 for story simply because it's typical. The delivery of this story though was very well laid out. This is why it's rated as high as it was.
Art: 6
As mentioned it's not great but it works.
Sound: 7
Sound was not crisp, but i enjoyed the op/ed themes, and the sound during the anime itself fit the scenario very well.
Characters: 9
I really enjoyed the way the characters played out. The development, the side characters. They fit the scenario, completed the story, and the young girl for example developed her personality and attitude about things throughout the anime.
Enjoyment: 9
The enjoyment level really caught me off guard on this. When I started watching it, I had low expectations. I believed it would just be an average anime. The story line played out well and I grew to really like how things took place. Going back to the story, it was very realistic on how things could happen, and even gave you some shocks and emotional play during this anime.
Overall: 8.0
Ironically overall i'd rate this as 8.0. It's not TOP of the line, but it was very enjoyable which is obviously the most important part. I hope everyone else enjoys it as much as I did.
