Cowboy Bebop is one of the few series that got recommended to me by both my real life friend and my net friends. I really wanted to like this show, I was so excited to watch this and my expectations were at an all time high which is what led me to dub cowboy bebop as the most disappointing anime ever
There are definitely worse, much worse series out there of course but I never expected much from them. Cowboy bebop however, is one of the most loved anime and everything I heard about it was positive which ultimately led me to expect Cowboy Bebop to
...
be an masterpiece that cannot be hated by anyone. Boy was I wrong
Well, that's enough of that, let's get on with my review
Story:
Cowboy Bebop is episodic for the most part and what's worse is that it's pretty much in the monster of the week format. There are a lot of standalone episodes in the series that aren't really important but they tried to force it at the end. I didn't like most of the standalone episodes but I hated what they did at the end even more
Characters:
They were able to give the most of the main cast a believable back story which properly explained why they acted the way they did. Not much of Ed's past is revealed though like why she even knew how to hack and what motivates her to act the way she does. They could've inserted that anywhere given how much standalone episodes they have but they didn't
Art and Animation:
I don't really mind the art style but some of the scenes just took me out of the anime because of how terribly animated they were but this can be forgiven because this is a 90s anime. The animation for the wormholes in particular were absolutely nauseous
Sound:
I'm not a fan of Jazz so I have nothing to say about the music
Enjoyment:
This is one of the few anime where I actually had to push myself just to finish. I usually just drop them but given how highly acclaimed the series I held on unto hope that maybe, just maybe the next episode would be better and it wouldn't bore me out of my mind but no, that didn't happen and when I finished this series, I was just glad that it was finally over and I can finally watch something that I actually like. This series was boring from start to finish, the only exception being episode 8, the sole episode that I like
Overall:
It's not as good as people make it out to be and it failed to live up to my expectations but most importantly, and when I say most importantly, I mean that this is the only part that matters for me, it was boring and I didn't enjoy it which is why I'm going to give this a 6.
Oh hey I just checked but my overall score for Cowboy Bebop is still a 6 if i take the average of my scores for it's separate aspects. 6.25 if I didn't count my score for the music (I divided it by 4 ofc, I'm not that dumb)
I don't think numbers can properly convey how much you like or dislike a show so take this sentence as my rating:
It still had some bits that I enjoyed but it was really boring as a whole.
P.S. This is ofc just my opinion so don't send me death threats for this, okay? Cool?

I just finished rewatching this series and there are a lot of stuff that I want to say about this series, particularly the characters but let's talk about the story first so we can get this out of the way
This review is going to contain a little bit of spoilers
Story:
Sakurasou's story begins with Kanda Sorata moving from regular dorms to Sakura-sou. Sakura-sou is a place filled with problem children who are mostly talented in one or more more fields and have quite a number of quirks. Given that Kanda is just your average guy, he of course has a lot of complaints about that
...
place.
I have no complaints about the story and I like how the ones who are average stay average. They don't automatically get a power-up or maybe even a new form when they get motivated, they have their limits
Characters:
This part is going to contain a bit more spoilers than the other parts
I have mixed feelings about the characters. On one hand, they did a good job with developing a lot of characters and they were able to make us relate for them and feel for them for the most part... That is if we're ignoring the main character which we of course cannot do since he has the majority of the screen time. The main character's actions don't make sense and he doesn't fulfill his role.
Kanda Sorata is the problem. He starts out well enough, he even learned a lot of stuff in the first 4 episodes, he made a mistake and he was able to correct himself
So far so good right?
After a few more episodes, he made a similar mistake, it was still relatable and believable. You shouldn't make the same mistake twice but in the end you still do and he was able to learn from that experience
Then he made a similar mistake again, except it's much much worse than the last 2
Kanda is meant to be relatable, at least that's how I took it because he is a normal person trying to achieve his dreams. he'll crash burn yet still rise back up again as a better person who learned from his past mistakes but this arc failed to deliver. Not only did he not learn from his mistakes, he thinks that he was in the right and forced his own ideals unto others. Not once did he apologize even though he was clearly in the wrong. He doesn't own other people's lives, he has no right to push his own stupid ideals to others. People change but he wasn't able to adapt to those changes and so he decided to tell them to revert back to their old self because that's what's convenivent for him. He thought he was in the right and he still thinkns that he was in the right.
After that, I just couldn't feel for anything that he did, I just straight up hated him. When he fails, I just go "Oh he failed, ok". I didn't care anymore, I couldn't feel for him that much
Oh and I also think that he is too much of a child and that he should grow a pair already
Thankfully the other characters have no problems and there is one more average person who we can relate to because she's not as retarded as a character. I was able to feel for those characters as well, in fact I almost cried [s]not[/s]
Art:
The art was good. I didn't notice any mistakes and it fits the tone of the series.
Sound:
The sound was ok. I liked the openings and closing credits and they played the right music at the right time
Enjoyment:
I really enjoyed this series. I enjoyed every moment aside from Kanda's cringey moments where I just went wtf.
Overall:
Everything affects enjoyment and being enjoyable is the main goal of anime which is an entertainment medium hence I rate anime based purely on enjoyment, also, I don't really believe in numbers. They can't really express your love for a series. Don't pay that much attention to my score
I give this series a 9/10, this would've received a 10 should it not have been for that one arc. I'm not saying this because of the flaws I found in it, I'm saying this because those flaws affected my enjoyment of the series negatively

Ok, this is the first time I'm writing a review given that I judge anime based on enjoyment for the most part, there are exeptions but those will be in my profile soon... maybe. I'd probably get down to it eventualy (talking about my rating system)
But anyway, I bet you're wondering why I even bothered making a review given that I judge a series based on my personal enjoyment of the series for the most part
It's because this series had my hopes up. It had the best art style since the fate series, I liked it's themes and the main characters were not cookie cutter
...
"where's my momma, I'm so scared" type of characters.... For the first 4 episodes
The first four episodes of this series were just absolutely brilliant. The dynamic between Ikoma and Mumei was also great
The background music was fantastic and fit every scene perfectly and the credits were absolutely amazing, specially the ending song Ninelie
But.... everything changed after the fire natio- nevermind, everything changed after the first 4 episodes. Thinking back, they could've just ended it after the first four episodes, it did feel like an ending and a lot of people said so when episode 4 came out. I was one of the people who were first to say that there are a lot more left to be explored, this great show has to continue. Little did I know that the continuation of this series is going to be well, shit
It started going off track, ironically. Choosing that track resulted into the once great train that was able to protect the people inside it and make them feel safe be reduced to nothing but a trainwreck which will most likely be used by homeless people as their shelter from the rain. Only a shadow of what it once was
Overall, this series starts off really strong but then went downhill from there until they reached a point where the tracks were cut off and a cliff was right ahead, this series tried to step on the brakes as hard as it could trying to save itself but it still crashed and fell into oblivion. They had all the time in the world to realize that there's a cliff ahead but the people on this train's control room were too busy looking back on what the train has done so far and the places it has taken them to notice thus leading to their own demise
