I've been waiting for this special to be released subbed online since it aired back in May in Japan. I'll admit that I forgot about it for a bit, but after finally seeing it was uploaded subbed about 2 weeks ago, and putting it off unintentionally for a a while, I watched it. Just wow! It makes a great edition to the series.
The episode just show cases a side story between the 7th and 8th episodes of the Brave Witches series after Eila and Sanya came to deliver supplies to the Petersburg base. It features tons of comedy between antics involving
...
Eila and Sanya, Waltrud, Georgette in cleaning freak mode, etc. So many people are pretty much obsessed with Sanya and it just adds to the feeling from the comedy and the events are pretty much on par with many of amazingly cute moments from both the Strike Witches and Brave Witches full length series. For people that had a problem with the lack of ecchi content in the series, you'll get some here. Even though there are all these cute and funny moments, there is a battle at the end with a quick yet epic conclusion. The story isn't very simple, but it just works. 9/10.
The art is pretty much the same as it was in the series, but there is a severe decrease in the amount of 3d cgi present and even a few of the cgi scenes in the opening were fixed. It isn't all gone, but it doesn't stand out nearly as much as it did in the series. It's a little annoying to see, but it doesn't detract too much from the quality. 9/10.
You get the same calming music and energetic fighting music. I just love the soundtracks that are used for these Witch series, but I do feel that a single ova or special just doesn't capture the full effect of the music. I always feel more energetic and calm when hearing this series's music, even if it's not captured as well here. 9/10.
The character are just about as amazing as always. The addition of Sanya and Eila is an amazing piece of bonus content for the episode. Other sides of characters like Georgette and Naoe are also shown. The characters are not randomly made extremely complicated or anything, but a pretty much amazing cast is still shown. One special cannot generally fully capture everyone's quirks in it though. 9.5/10.
I enjoyed this special to the fullest. I enjoyed the full series to the fullest as well, excluding the 3d cgi; 10/10 without it, 9/10 with it, so I took the average of the two. The 3d cgi is used a lot less in this episode though and even some of the cgi parts in the opening were fixed. Since the main issue I had with the series is almost completely taken away, my enjoyment rank is a 10/10. I'm willing to forgive the slight use of noticeable 3d cgi here since it doesn't take away so much from the beautiful pictures. I highly recommend this to fan s of Brave Witches and Strike Witches, but watch the series in order.
Overall, 9.3.

My favorite series continues with the 11 Witches of the 501 joint fighter wing off participating in more neroi battles with a hive being in a new region, as well being up to all the other goofy antics that occur. Let's get into the other part now.
Concerning the story, it is similar to the first season. It's still basically the same amazing story of Yoshika's struggle to be a witch who can protect everyone she can while forging strong bonds with fellow friends/squad members., with information about people's past being revealed throughout the journey. Now, everyone still doesn't have their past
...
revealed, which shouldn't be expected from a 24 episode series with an 11 member main squad, but more of the internal struggles of characters are shared. We have Mio's struggle with not being able to erect shields properly anymore ,and forging the Reppumaru sword to help her fight in battle by using the repuzzan without worrying about needing a shield. Than there is Gertrude's problem with the jet striker using up her magic too fast and than blaming herself for not being strong enough for it after being confined to her room, and later coming to grips with the situation as she uses the unit one final time as last resort to save one of her friends. Yoshika, Lynette, and Perrine also learn how to better control their magic by treating brooms (during training) and their striker units as an extension of their bodies rather than relying on them to fly; I basically mean that they learn to treat their magic as an extension of themselves rather as a tool (this might not have helped explain it, but it should get the point across). Eila and Sanya have a struggle with their friendship because the neuroi core for their new mission is too high up and only Sanya's weapon can hit it but she won't be able to shield herself while doing it and Eila isn't selected to be her partner for the mission since she's never summoned up a shield before; Eila gets angry and frustrated because Yoshika is selected to be Sanya's shield and even though she trains with others so she can finally put up a shield she just doesn't seem to be able to do it and gets yelled at by Sanya for giving up to easily; right after Sanya and yoshika are left to fly up to the core, Sanya just looks at Eila wishing she was with her and Eila than rushed up to be the one to protect Sanya, her best friend, with Yoshika's help, they destroy the neuroi and they grow even stronger as friends. Mio and Minna also have conflicts within their friendship due to Mio's diminishing magical power, but I'll leave the details for you to find out . Besides all the character growth, there's also a weird bug like neuroi that attack the girls in the butts and shorts out the electronic equipment at the base, until a very unorthodox method destroys it. Well, my last statement was just to show that some of the usual weird comedy is still present even though all the seriousness is there. Overall, I like the story a bit more this season since it focuses a little more on my favorite characters, besides Minna since she doesn't develop solo as much, and the final fight is a little better. . Still though, I believe Strike Witches has an excellent story even the cast acts a bit silly, hence my 10/10.
The art is still at least as amazing as it was in season 1. It's actually a little better this time around though, but it's not so drastic that it's instantly noticeable. Everything still flows nicely and the character designs are in tact with only slight modifications for one or two. 10/10.
The sound is yet again, amazing like it was in season 1. The opening theme is basically just as good as the season 1 opening. I like Over Sky more than Bookmark Ahead though. Either way, season 2 keep the same quality in music that season 1 had, and it doesn't lose that Strike Witches touch. 10/10.
The best way to differentiate the characters in season 2 compared to season 1 is to say that they are more developed, which is true. Each character generally is a bit more developed this season, but since I already went on a bit about that when describing the story, I'm not listing more character struggles and how they overcame some their struggles. Know that the girls still make up the same quirky cast that you should be used to coming into this season. I find so much to love about the characters between all their different personalities and such. I'm glad my favorite cast got more screen time. 10/10.
Well, from how much I've been praising the show, my enjoyment should be a 10/10 too, right? Well, you're correct. My enjoyment is another 10/10 score, since I love everything about Strike Witches, the 2 animated seasons at least, since the manga series and such vary in quality. It's a highly enjoyable ride from start to finish if you already liked the cast. If you don't like the cast, you probably shouldn't be watching this season. I hope you enjoy watching season 2 and aren't too disappointed.

I might as well as let it out there, that Strike Witches is my favorite series; I'm not saying that season 1 is necessarily my favorite, but I haven't re-watched season 2 yet, so I'll just let season one represent the series on my favorites list for now. Honestly, before I even get into the review I'll say something kind of contradictory. I'm not going to sit here typing to try and convince you that this is a must watch for everyone because of amazing the story , art, music, etc are. I believe wholeheartedly that Strike Witches is a series
...
that only people who like shows that handle 11 main/side characters being present all for a good amount of screen time well, beautiful sky scenes and lower-upper age teenage girls drawn not wearing actual pants, a story about a new Witch wanting to become stronger and help everyone she can even if it means taking reckless moves, etc. Basically, there are many things that I believe can turn someone off from Strike Witches , although I'd definitely say it's way above average, and I don't find it likely that the anime would convince you to like it, if you're extremely off put by something beforehand. It's just not a show that you can talk about how well written it is, like Death Note, and Fullmetal Alchemist, how great the characters are, how stunning all the different visual types are, etc. It's a fairly simplistic show that I don't think would change people's opinions much if they're inclined to not like it before viewing. Anyway, I've rambled on enough now. Time to start the review. I won't be rating each category individually like I've been doing recently though, since it's a perfect 10 for me.
As I said, the story is fairly simplistic. Yoshika Miyafuji is going to a normal school, until she receives a letter from her dead father handed to her from Mio Sakamoto. Mio is attempting to recruit her into the Strike Witches since she has an amazing healing ability, but Yoshika refuses at first. She doesn't even agree to join the Strike Witches until after being taken on a carrier ship in order to see her father's grave, and equipping a striker unit for the first time, the device the witches use to fly, and helping to fight off a neuroi during her travels with Mio. Her journey of self growth and her meetings with all the wonderful members of the 501st joint fighter wing, the Strike Witches, start. Unlike other stories of self growth, the main character doesn't go from being one of the weakest to one of the strongest. Yoshika at best, moves up into a middle spot, but she still remains lower in power rankings among the unit. She may act rashly at times, but she's also the one who encourages everyone else when they have doubts and brings about conclusions that nobody expected until they saw it. You find out the internal struggles of most of the remaining cast, as well. Minna, Mio, Gertrude, and most others all have something that bothers them internally during the season and it's generally about something in the past that affects them in such a way that they don't act like themselves, until Yoshika ends up breaking them out of their shell, and sometimes other people help a little too. It's not that she's a plot device, but that's just the way she is. Yoshika is very good at giving and or inspiring hope to/in others. One of the bests parts of the story definitely has to be that it doesn't try to be tear jerking despite the tragic events that occurred in many of the girl's lives. There will be some boob jokes and playful grabbing now and again too, along with other comedy, but it just makes the experience so much better. it's world war 2 based as well, but with the unknown neuroi attacking earth and Witches rather than feuding countries. I believe the ships are suppose to be modeled after war war 2 ships as well.
The art is fantastic, at least on blue-ray. All the surroundings from the sky to the water to the ships, and everything seemed so realistic, even though you can tell it's a drawing. the neuroi may have weird designs, but it doesn't matter. All the Witches have such memorable character designs, despite that they're drawn not wearing pants. No female character in the Strike Witches universe ever wears actual pants, and tights are the closet it ever comes. It's certainly a weird choice to make, but it actually makes their designs so much more memorable, a long with allowing the show to have an easy way to go about providing some fan service, making the striker units more noticeable, and eliminating any hindrance the pants may have made to the visual appeal while the witches are flying through the sky. It's an art style that i'll never forget.
The sound is similar to the story, in the fact that it may not seem special at first. I'd say that the opening and ending theme convey one of the best messages of encouragement and working to discover your potential along side your friends out of all the theme songs that convey similar messages. The songs are extremely memorable , if you're a fan at least and don't try to forget them. The background music is fantastic too. It's not that it's the best calming music out there, the best pumping up music, or anything like that. The music just has a unique feel to it that can only be experienced in Strike Witches show or something, like Brave Witches, which is very similar but different; Brave Witches suffers in the art department a bit due to the sub par 3d cgi used though. the animation is also amazingly well done in Strike Witches. The fights are not the most action packed, but everything is so fluid and lively.
The characters are all unique in their own way too. I already said most of my thoughts on Yoshika so I'll just leave it at that. Unfortunately, Strike Witches is another show where I don't think describing the characters will actually convince people. Strike Witches, Brave Witches, Armed Girl's Machiavellism, and Seven Mortal Sins, are four shows that I have this opinion about their characters, for the most part. I wouldn't mind going into how great of a singer Minna is and describing her past, talking about Gertrude's past, the problems Mio faces, and many other characteristics and personalities. It would just make for too long of a character section when they are 11 Strike Witches and I don't think it would convince many people because the cast would sound generic paper, despite their liveliness and colorful personalities. It's kind of a shame, but I'd rather keep it shorter and not make my favorite cast sound generic unintentionally. It's a cast that needs to be experienced, as long as any prior knowledge you have about the show doesn't deter you from watching it already.
Now for the enjoyment. Strike Witches was one of those shows that I always loved and didn't watch for a particularly good reason. I read in a review or something that the main character grew dog ears and a tail when she fights and I wanted to try and discover the reasoning behind that. I already started to like cat girls at the time, so the humanoid aspect pulled me in, especially since it sounded so bizarre. My question was not answered until I read one of the manga series, Maidens in the Sky, though. I still loved it even though my question was not answered. I realized it was one of my top 5 favorites when i thought about it a few months later. After another 2 or 3 months, I was thinking about what my favorite anime is, and after Noir, which was the first anime i saw, being my favorite for a while, I realized after thinking about my opinions on it after i started to re-watch it, that it doesn't hold the title of my favorite anime anymore. as I watched more shows, Noir wasn't even in my top 10 anymore. I decided that Strike Witches is my favorite anime after Noir lost it's place, and I just re-watched this season over a period of four days. I enjoy watching Strike Witches so much and it definitely brings the most joy to me, overall, when I consider every aspect. It's well deserving of being my favorite anime and I don't regret giving it that title. I hope that many people who read this at least have a positive experience while watching the season.

The great Slice of Life moe show with a great story and a bunch of cute girls from gaming company comes back for a single episode ova. Surprisingly, the ova is almost as good as the show.
It's about the gang going on a ski trip and Aoba is afraid to ski because she had a bad memory of it from her childhood. After everyone is done skiing they go to the bathes. They're actually done skiing really quickly,, which is surprising, bu it still allows for some of the usual antics to occur. Basically, the ova
...
is about Aoba celebrating the completion of Fairies Story 3 with her co-workers/friends instead of focusing on her dream of being a game designer. By now, the stuff that takes place should be what you like and or love. 9/10 for me.
The art is still simple, but great. 9/10
The sound is slightly not as good. I know I gave the first season a 10/10 for music mainly based on the opening and ending theme songs, but I don't think I can honestly do that here. I always loved the background music in addition to Sakura Skip and Now Loading, but it doesn't shine as much in only a one episode ova. I can still give a 9.5/10 for the category though without feeling like I'm forcing my score to be higher.
The character consist of the same great cast that you know and like/love by now. You even get to see a new side of at least one of them. 9/10
I always enjoy New Game to the fullest. Not giving a 10/10 for enjoyment would be equivalent to lying to myself. Definitely watch this if your a fan of New Game!

Plain and simple, this is basically just a stupid short series of advertisements for The Irregular at Magic High School Movie.
There really isn't any story, since it's just a group of 3 advertisements, but at least the 3rd one show some good footage from the film and makes me want to watch it even more. 4/10
The art isn't nearly as good as in the show, but at least most of the character designs are just about as good besides for the awful Tatsuya crossover figure. 5/10
There isn't much sound to speak of, but only the last advertisement even had any good
...
music. 4/10
The characters are still fine for the most, but without the development since these only come to having a minute of screen time total. As I said in the art category, Tatsuya has an awful crossover design, and that drags down this score as well. 4.5/10
I didn't enjoy this much, but my enjoyment is not totally at the low end of the scale, but it's close. 4/10.
Honestly, only watch the 3rd advertisement, since the rest don't show anything interesting. There are no subtitles yet though, just so you know.

I'll honestly say that the ratings for this ova are probably another example of extra unnecessary content getting a higher rating due to the popularity and fondness of the parent story. I'm not saying that many ovas and specials cannot be really good or better, but the My Hero Academia Jump Special is not one of those cases.
The story consists of nothing, but special training. It was kind of fun, but all it is watching the heroes take turns being the victims and saviors. It's mildly entertaining, but it's not that entertaining. 5/10
The art isn't that great. The art in the
...
actual show looks better. 5/10. I'll admit that the version I watched wasn't the best quality, but the art still seemed quite inferior.
The sound is no where near the quality of the usual stuff and it's a let down all around. Another 5/10.
It's an ova so don't expect the characters to be as good. They're still fun to watch, but a lot of their personality seems to be missing and the different personalities that are usually enjoyable to watch, just are not up to par. 5/10.
I did kind of enjoy this ova, but not all that much, compared to how I enjoyed the series. In the end, it's basically just a side story that didn't necessarily need to be animated. It's not bad, but it's not quite ok or good either; it's rather meh. 5/10. It's probably still worth the watch for big My Hero Academia fans.

It's a weird idol show will horse girl competitive racers. It's the type of weird show I think I'll like.
The promotional video doesn't really have a story. It shows some nice yuri undertones, a little bit of the girls features, and some idol music. That's pretty much it.
The art is actually good.
The sound is also good and it's sounds a bit goofy, but the show seems like goofy fun so it fits.
There's not much about the characters.
It provides some ok laughter though even in only 1 minute 40 seconds and it is fun to watch as whole. It should stand out due
...
to it's weirdness and I definitely plant o check out the full series when it'as released.

By now, you should know what to expect from Monster Musume. The ovas do not necessarily give as good of ecchi moments as the full show, but they are funny side stories and still deliver some of the expected ecchi from the series.
The story is still the same simple plot from the series with the monster girls living with people due to a new law to see if they can live together on harmony in humans. This part of it isn't mentioned, but the cohabitation is still going on. The first episode focuses on watching the girls exercise at a new inter-species
...
gym since 3 of them have gained a little too much weight recently. The second episode focuses on the girl from the family that sold Rachnera coming around to try and convince the other monster girls and Kurusu to allow her family to take her back. Both episodes are just simple funny stories that give the series a reason to show more of its fan service at appropriate times. I may love ecchi altogether, but I do have to admit that Monster Musume doesn't really have any of the out of place type of fan service, and that along with its cast of characters do make an impression. The ecchi moments and some other stuff is not as funny as it is in the series though. 6/10
The art is still really good just like it is in the series. 8/10.
The sound is the same too. 7/10.
The character also remain unchanged, but the first episode adds Polt into the mix a little, as the owner/ manager or whatever of the inter-species gym. She is quit energetic and over the top with her expressions and is just so fun to watch as she expresses her lively personality. 7/10
I enjoyed these a little less than the series, but I like still like them. Another 7/10.
I'd say go ahead and watch these if you like the original show. You'll get some quick good laughs of the experience.

WorldEnd:What are doing at the end of the world? Are you busy? Will you save us? is quite a ride. The title is long, but don't let it deter you from watching the anime.
The story is really emotional as it goes along. It simply starts out with Willem being the last human alive after the rest dies out from a fight 500 years ago. He was apparently frozen, but that isn't shown in the show. He meets Chtholly while she is visiting Earth and they have a wonderful day together as he takes her to everything she wanted to see. He ends
...
up accepting a job as a technical officer for the military and he assigned to a floating island in the sky to care for a group of Leprechauns, whom are faeries who can use ancient Dug Weapons to drive away the Timere monsters that attack the lands. The stuff that makes this show stand out is certainly the emotions and how the characters develop. Even though he lost pretty much everything years ago, Willem quickly becomes accustomed to his new life as a care take for the children . He rows along with the children every step of the way as he comes to realize the true nature of how they live their lives. Chtholly takes a shrine to him pretty quickly as the two of them help each out in the roughest times and form a very touching relationship that demonstrates how much they are willing to do and sacrifice for each other. The plot becomes a great story of tragic love as the two of them grow with each other, and other characters like Ithea and Nephren develop too. Characters like Chtholly go through a lot of psychological trauma throughout the show and have to deal with part of themselves slipping away, in addition to dealing with other problems. The ending is amazing and gives the show the tragic closure that you should expect to come. Overall, the story is very coherent and doesn't have all that many plot holes, but it does have a random episode in between that develops a character that's barely shown to be of any major importance later. It easily gets a 8.5/10.
The art is just great too. It's not necessarily a mongatari type of stand out art, but it's still great art. No matter if it's the memorable character designs, the backgrounds, weapons designs (you probably won't recognize the difference between each weapon, but they do look different for other ancient weapons in shows), the blending of hair colors, or even the different take on wing designs. Faeries always have wings of some kind, but the ones here look almost mosaic like with their design. In short, the art is great and stands out. A 9/10 is deserved.
The sound is amazing. Every track complicated the scenes very nicely and they give off the feeling the show is meant to have. The opening theme song is amazingly done. The music is extremely pleasant to listen too and it sounds divine in a sense, and it's get across the tragedy and sadness that is everywhere throughout the anime and it has amazing visuals to go along with it. This is technically an edit here for my my review since I wrote the review like 2 months or so ago from the date I'm changing my ending thoughts on the music. 10/10 for music. At the time I wrote the review, I think I was just looking for a way to take off a minor amount of points because I didn't feel like this was a 9.4/10 show, but after thinking a little, I realized that swapping my sound and enjoyment scores expresses my thoughts more accurately.
The characters are great. You really grow attached to them, especially Chtholly and Willem from a very point in the anime. Willem is basically the dad for all the Leprechauns he is in charge of, while Chtholly is more like their big sister. Both of them have a lot more going on behind the scenes though and it starts to unravel as the plot goes forward. Even Ithea and Nephren, and some of the younger faeries show personal growth along the way. The story is filled with characters that just belong together. Many of girls are examples of the cute girl on the outside, who has a lot of inner problems behind the scene and the way it's handled allows everyone else to grow alongside with the character experiencing trauma. There are many characters that don't get much development, but they were younger side characters anyway. Another 9/10 category.
Now, I enjoyed this from start to finish and I never had a major feeling of dissatisfaction. The ending cinches my enjoyment score since it is was so touching even though it was a tragic ending, but the show probably wouldn't be as good without the tragic closure. My enjoyment earns a 9.5/10. I recommend you watch this if you want to see some great character growth, great emotional and happy music, and all the good aspects of tragic love story all in one place. I feel similarly about this show as I do about Angel Beats!, although, I enjoyed Angel Beats! slightly more but not enough to reflect it in my score since I'm not going to give .6-.9 as a score( no 9.6 for example) since it'll make my overalls core look weird. I recommend you watch Angel Beats! after this if you like Worldend of course, since both have similar vibes and quality.

I'm kind of mad because I had my review started and than I accidentally closed the browser. I guess I'll be writing it again. Luckily, I wasn't that far.
Grimoire of Zero certainly has brought out mixed feelings among the viewers. Many people really like or even love the show, while many others, like myself, just like it. There are also the people who just don't care for it that much. It's good either way, but it does have its ups and downs.
The story is simple. Zero and Mercenary meet unexpectedly after Mercenary falls from a hill top above where
...
Zero was camping out when he was being chased by witches, I believe (I actually forget the details concerning his fall from weeks ago). She forms a contract with him than and promises to turn him into a human, as long as he helps her find the Grimoire of Zero, which is a book she created that is filled with tons of magic spells and has spread far throughout the land. The book was stolen from her and she want sit back before it falls into the wrong hands. The two also meet Albus,a young witch in the group, the sorcerers of Zero. The three of them start their adventure and ht some of their initial walls. The first half of the show is a lot more character driven, which was a little dull at times because the anime seemed to be concentrating on simple stuff like that instead of on finding the grimoire of Zero and advancing the story. Luckily, the second half shows more of the conflict surrounding the war that is close to breaking out between humans and witches, and has many plot twists throughout the scenes. It could be a better story, but at least it was satisfying and ended on a really good note. The best part about it is that it feels like an old time fantasy adventure due to how the spells are cast and the backgrounds shown. The beastfallen designs make a nice touch though. I'd give a story a 7 since the quality rounds out nicely despite the ups and downs in the story.
The art is kind of like the story. It really makes the show feel like an older style fantasy adventure. The character designs, backgrounds, and other art pieces are not always the greatest out there, but the category as whole is good. A few of the background are done really well, especially some that I noticed in the final episode, while some others are just ok. The clothing is definitely of some typical fantasy designing, but it helps show the character's personalities really well and it is still designed nicely. The animation is pretty fluid too. Overall, a 7/10 in deserved.
The sound is my favorite part of the show. I expect a fantasy to have some really good music and Grimoire of Zero doesn't disappoint much in this department. The opening them is quite good, while sounding silly at the same time; it fits very nicely though with a few of the overall simple themes of the show, and it does have nice visuals. The background music is more fierce during the battle scenes and the more conflict based scenes. Other times, it is just some good music that compliments the mood in a good way. I'll give the category a 7/10.
The characters are kind of a difficult area to talk about. They are not the most special, but they leave an impact. Thirteen is kind of a basic antagonist and trouble is always around him, but he does a good job at being part of each side of the war he basically started, which is not something many antagonists can pull off. Zero is a young magician who might easily be the most powerful magician in the world of the show, seeing as how she made the spell book and that action lead to many people throughout the land learning how to use magic. She doesn't try to control people with force and enormous strength though and she is more kind hearted and it doesn't take a whole lot to please her. She is kind of cunning though and she interacts very well with Mercenary. Mercenary is more a tough and rather stern individual until he grows more acquainted with his master, Zero, and breaks out of his shell. He is different from other beastfallen since he doesn't use his look and or position as a soldier to get what he wants. He has a simple dream of wanting to open his tavern. Albus is an ok character, but she doesn't have as much of an impact as the three I mentioned above, and she just kind of seemed to be present at many times without there being a need for her. I don't think she needed to be incorporated into the main traveling crew as often the way she is, but would fit better if there was more of a use for her early in the story. The other characters are not really main people so I'll leave out. Overall, the characters are rather fun to watch and stand out in their own way, despite not being the best out there, so 7/10 it is.
My enjoyment earns a 7/10. I didn't always like every episode as much as another, but overall, I had a fun time watching the anime and some of the scenes were really good. It has a very satisfying ending too, even though the show has a short run time. There is more to be discovered in the world, but every main conflict brought about is solved before it ends.
