Shiki isn't your typical vampire anime. Unlike Vampire Knight, there isn't any angst or crazy tension between characters. With a unique form of animation, mature theme, and unpredictable story-line it makes for a great distraction if you happen to have the time. With only 22 short episodes and a really progressive story, Shiki introduces vampires into a rural, secluded environment of locals. What could go wrong, right?

Bleach, being one of the three popular anime's from Shonen Jump, has a reason for being so popular.
The main plot of the anime is rather good and it is thought out which is why I give it a higher score, however the characters, side stories, longevity, the ending of the main arc and predictability are what bring the anime down. I am not saying the characters are "lame" or lax, I am simply saying that instead of throwing in random side arcs to prolong the series, perhaps they should work on the character development and a solid conclusion.
