If you love random, nonsensical comedy, then FLCL and DMC are for you. They are similar because of their humorous, yet adult-like, theme. Both main characters have split personalities, however in DMC it's a bit more extreme. The animation, though different, is similar to me. I'm no expert on art and animation but the way they throw in funny and random background images or side stories is why I would watch them over and over again. If you like what they would call "adult humor", then DMC and FLCL are definitely worth checking out.

The nature of the theme, the animation style, and the amount of action in both anime are what make them similar. There isn't many fight scenes but the ones that there are are pretty conclusive. The nature of the theme is similar because they make you think about ethics, morals, and philosophy in general. The character base is a similar as well. By this I mean that the characters in each anime are plenty, making the angle from which you see the story line like a kaleidoscope. Also, the endings kind of leave you asking for more... they were mostly conclusive but there was a chance for more.
