Very similar atmosphere with absurdity, and pure fun at the forefront of an underlying darkness in the surrealistically beautiful backdrop of tenuki, tengu, shrines and colors highlighted by high production values. Kokkuri San is more episodic, more of an outright dark comedy dealing with a makeshift family; Eccentric Family has a light plot, is heavier on character development with a biological family drama at the center. Both series are an easy watch that will leave you smiling yet gives enough food for thought with their darker elements.

Both have the same basic concept of an immortal man hanging around a young girl. The girl becomes too attached regardless of the immortal's protest and we have a traveling duo for the story, which occasionally becomes a trio with the supposed villain joining them on & off for the ride for various reasons. The story develops different for both though, as Blade of immortal is Seinen, Immortal rain is Shojo. Immoral Rain is good for easy drama, action and popcorn entertainment. Blade is heavy serious shit, but no less entertaining.

Same story, same characters, same villains, same twist, and same everything. If I didn't know better I'd claim one has rip-offed the other.
Both have a central theme of gradual friendship between unlikely partners surrounded by other comrades, and the less successful brunette partner (Tiger/Kenji) tries to unveil the mystery surrounding his new blonde partner's (Bunny/Hans) background, leading to the "memory" twist. The climax is same of blonde kidnapped by their own organization who are mastermind villain, and further tampered with to turn against the Brunette who is left with the duty to save his partner and reveal the villain to the world. They tag-team the villains finally. One ends at an unexpectedly tragic note however, and one on a hopeful tone, and that is as far as the differences go.
