The best way to experience Oshi No Ko is to watch it completely blind. I'm so glad I did.
Story 8.9/10
The idea of Ai Hoshino's children being Gorou and Sarina was a great way to start. Gorou the doctor in the Beginning of Oshi No Ko has this special connection with his patient Sarnina. Sarina's favorite is idol Ai Hoshino. Gorou seeing Sarina's love for Ai really rubs off on him. Both meeting theyre ends with Gorou getting murdered and Sarina passing away it all begins when Gorou wakes up as Aqua Hoshino and Sarina wakes up as Ruby Hoshino.
The begging we get to learn about
...
the restrictions and circumstance of being an idol in Japan, and the behind the scenes of the entertainment industry. How fans, people can go so far and the amount of extremes people go to. The end of episode 1 is truly heartbreaking. How much Ai loves her kids more than anything. She can't spend as much time with them, we see that's what truly makes Ai smile, and its what makes Ai truly happy. Audiences completely misjudge idols. Aqua and Ruby witness they're mother murdered.
Aqua's mission then is to find who's behind his mom getting killed.
Characters 8/10
I think Oshi No Ko really shined here. Aqua is very awkward. He's only got his mind set on one thing. It's the way he bounces off the other characters that i think makes Aqua so charming. Ruby the twin sister of Aqua wants to follow in her moms footsteps. Both main characters have drives to them, everything has a reason to it and feels right. Kana, kind of Aqua's rival. Seen together at a young age both auditioning for a role of a scary child in the woods. Seeing Aqua just do better with no experience at all, first time ever trying and doing so good, it frustrates Kana at first. The characters inspirations really drive this series.
Art 9/10
The art is beautiful. Doga Kobo really shined with this anime and made they're stamped. Animated fantastically from episode 1-12.
Although for a dark setting, it felt right. The tense and angry emotions we're very well portrayed. The art compliments the style Oshi No Ko wants to portray.
Sound 8/10
Opening is such a punch in the face at the beggining. Very powerful start to an episode. The ending sequence was a thumbs up too. Music composition is solid. Not very memorable though.
Overall 8/10
Didn't miss a single episode. This anime is perfect going into blind. The characters are well explored and carry the story very well.
Overall it's a 8/10. Love the characters and the plot and started with a great twist and the character integrations are so fun to watch. I wanna see them all do good. I just dont know if its really rewatchable for me. But it was very memorable and had very memorable characters.
